Ok, so I'm in the bathroom and I thought of this great Idea. I've been thinking lately there isn't enough stuff to put on your character or anything. You can only have bangles on one arm, no earings or anything, stuff like that. I've been an image designer. Now, I hate the timer on it, but the window is great, it lets everyone see what you are doing before it's done.

So hey, what if you gave that window to tailors so that the person buying the clothes could see what they are going to be buying before they buy it. The tailor could show the other person what they would look like with all the things they would be buying. Talk about inovation! Plus, many things on Vendors and the bazaar are hard to see or you can't see them at all. If you put a similar window on the Tailor profession, the person would be able to see what they look like.

Isn't that the greatest idea ever?

Hi being new here to these forums i havent had a chance to read them all so if i suggest something someone else has suggested please dont flame me:

1. How about other "unlockables". Alot of people go for jedi because its the hardest thing in the game to do... its like finding the holy grail of the SWG world...if there was other unlockable player types that could be attained by some long difficult path there would be more variety in game play...some suggestions would be

elite bounty hunters

hutt crime lord

special forces member

even factional unlockables could be added

Crimson Guard

Rebel Ace

i believe this would bring depths to the game unseen as of today

if anyone agrees or has any other thoughts i would like to hear them too

Have the devs read through the proffessions forum monthly so they actually know what the community wants in thier profession(s). The devs or Red color lettered people ( as I like to call them) seem to care with Inconcept topics such as this one and they look like they get the right information from the Blue lettered people for specific professions but some times that may not be what the community wants. I know for a fact that right now the Bounty Hunter community wants answers with what they are suppose to hunt since jedi will be invincible to them in some ways, and I have not seen Tanks thier blue lettered person, being active in the topics. The Pikeman community wants to know if they are going to ever have a fix in thier toughness so it compares to others and Gunman21 is an awesome blue lettered person and hes done some great things like recently I heard damage Migitation will be taken out of the game now even though that was a team effort and it helps all melee professions I believe it will specifically help Pikeman. The Creature Handlers want the bug were thier animals dissappear in the middle of combat fixed. I believe the people working on Jump to light speed should slow down thier work a little bit so they can work on actual bugs in the SWG professions. You Devs tried to put the AT-ATs in the game but due to a design or programming flaw they don't look right when they turn so you took them out of the game ... well not completely out of the game , you spawn them when you think it is needed like you did on Sunrunner.

There are alot of upset peoplein this game at the moment and alot of them are ready to cancel thier accounts and if enough of them do thats your holiday bonus or your pay check. I think when this is looked at IF it is looked at I will get a comment such as : "Most of the professions will be fixed in the combat rebalance and since you've probably known that having the devs pay attention to the forums now is almost irrelavant because we have already started working on the combat rebalance." but my question to that is- Will they be fixed the way the community would like?

As far as I'm concerned the Devs have ignored the Community for the most part and have been running with what they want to see in the professions which is fine but its not what a majority may think.

So In concept see if the Devs or red colored lettering people can take a look at the Professions forum monthly take some notes and see what is neededfor the game, now you don't have to yet this is just IN CONCEPT.

Ok I got a few things from a guy I know on Bria Galaxy, he has a 14 day account and he's got some ideas that he's asked me to post again, these are not my ideas but his, all credit should go to him if you agree with them, and vice versa if you don't then BLAME him lol, Kidding Sroek. (cause that's the guys name in game, like ya'll didn't know, I'm just clarifying)

- Make weapons display on the character even when they're not equipped. For instance, weapons that are strapped somewhere on the body depending on what type of holster or sheath you have equipped. For instance, if you had a sheath bandolier equipped, you could drag your blade into it just like you would whenever power up a weapon, and the blade would display on your character's back. If you had a right-thigh holster equipped, you could drag your pistol into it and it would display on the right-thigh of your character, etc. You could also have multiple sheaths/holsters equipped as long as they don't overlap each other in the same area on your character's body.

- Make lairs more realistic. An example would be to make buildings for faction camps, and pseudo-caves for Banthas where you can't really go inside but is more believable to witness when you see them pouring out to defend their lair. Improve their AI as well, by having them setup more complex bases over time, by fighting other rival factions and creatures in order to expand their settlements. As this goes on, in return, they would recruit more and more members, stock up on better weapons and armor, and deploy better defense such as in the form of watch towers and automated turrets. Have creatures breed and migrate over time, and alter their habitat to encompass their family. Smarter creatures like Squills would setup primitive villages, etc. This creates a more dynamic environment in the wilderness that players would greatly appreciate.

- Make Merchants be able to hire wandering NPC vendors who shuttleport around cities.

hehe add new skill trees for factions, lol that would add some content to the GCW. get new attacks and stuff for your faction points or experience or something. like you have you 250 normal skill points and another set for factional professions? just an idea. or have it branch off on of your currently mastered professions, like an advanced squad leader etc... and have experience be an extremely large amount. like 1 million for your first skill.

sounds sorta kewl to me but it might have problems... And possibly titles like "rebel rifle specialist" "imperial martial artist" i dont know have some fun with it! and possibly bh's could be in the hutt faction if it is ever created.

If there is a military profession then WE SHOULD NOT GET ADDITIONAL POINTS FOR IT! I am tired of poeple who want everything without making any sacrifice or choices. If the military career is so important to you then drop everything thats needed to free up the necessary skill points!

Make Factional bases undestroyable. I would never waste FP on a base that can be destroyed by other players.

I hope you guys have enough pride in your programming abilities to fix the IMP HAT! Its been a year already how arrogant of you to remove it from the game and not UPDATE us after you assured us you were working on it....in 2003?

Implement a new type of damage: Razor damage

Give Teras Kasi the unique ability to cause kineticdamage.I'll list two reasons why:

  • While swords, pikes, and fists are basically the same damage type, its a generalization of really several types of damage unlike heat, energy, blast, and acid damage which are specific.

  • Jedi are suppose to be wary of melee attacks as said by the devs, and I quote:

    Thunderheart Wrote:

Jedi are not being designed to be the perfect solo character that can defend against all other classes. Jedi are not “scrappers” and by definition, Teras Kasi was developed specifically to fight Jedi at close range. This will be especially true when Jedi are given the ability to block ranged attacks back at their opponents. Melee attacks are something the Jedi should be wary of.

So, if 4 classes can do melee damage, then you will be pummled badly. Which I guess in alot people's books might be a good thing, thats a pretty nasty number and alot of people are gonna try for the Jedi's most feared attack.

What is razor damage? Damage done by vibroswords, vibrolances, vibroknucklers, daggers, ryyk blades, vibroaxes, and anything with a blade essentially. Kinetic damage makes sense, but razor damage fits better in line with these weapons.

Now of course this would mean staffs and such would retain kinetic damage, but I doubt a staff wielder would be formidable.

The primary source of damage caused by Fencers and Swordsmen already fall away from kinetic. Stun for Fencers and Blast for Swordsmen. So much wont be lost saved for Pikeman, but Im willing to bet they wouldnt mine such a overhaul.

I think it's irresponsible of you devs to not implement some sort of intermediate solution or "hack" as we call it in the IT business, to deal with high priority GCW fixed.

For example CMs. You could implement a quick, temporary thing that reduces their damage in PvP with 50%. It would make sense and would make GCW much more playable. But instead you keep hyping the combat balance that is months ahead, as if it magically will do everything right.

I am reposting this idea from the BH forums, its an Idea for Bounty Hunter Theme Parks,

here is the original thread, It has a 5 star average with 31 ratings, pretty good for the BH forums!

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=bounty_hunter&message.id=71904&page=1

cliff notes: A theme park for bounty hunters where they get a series of missions from different NPCs asociated with the playerscurrent level in the investigation tree. The missions grant money, invest exp, and unique loot.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ORIGINAL POST:

Wouldnt that be a nice change over the BH terminal/informant/droid/shuttle routine?

There could be one in each of the major towns: Mos Eisley, Theed, Coronet.

could be a building in the city, You work your way through the missions the same way you do any other theme park. But these missions would payout money, Invest exp, and maybe some cool Bounty Hunter oriented loot (a scale model of Slave 1).

Maybe you start with the guy at the door, run his mission you get inside, Then there are a series of "mob" bosses that hand out BH missions. Each of the bosses could be associated with each Investigation Level. But instead of handing out random missions that you could choose from... they would hand out a "Series" of missions... complete the "series" get some cool loot, Like a Velevet painting of Max Rebo or something.... Once you get to Level IV you can go upstairs and take missions directly from the DON!

Since the different Bosses would be associated with different Invest Levels, it would give you a reason to come back and finish the next part of the Theme park.

I'm not suggesting that you could crank out all your Invest from these parks, but...

it would be a nice change from the boring Mission Terminal life.

and it would add a little of the Underworld side of Bounty Hunting...

maybe there could even be Rebel and Imperial BH theme parks!

Hi, I am not sure where to post this so I will post it here and I will post it on my community forum too. I hope it gets noticed somewhere.

First off congrats on the one year anniversary! It is hard to believe it has been a year of live already.

One thing that has always bugged me has been the nightly server restart. There have been a few times when the nightly restart has NOT happened but 99.9% of the time there is a nightly restart.

I am assuming the nightly restart is used to correct problems such as the mysterious items that go poof but come back at server restart. I also assume there are more behind the scenes stuff that is corrected on a nightly basis with the restart.

During the week the restarts are not that big of a deal TO ME since I have to be in bed at a decent hour for work. But on my Friday off and on weekends I really like to pull a weekend of non stop game play sometimes...

With the nightly restarts it really breaks immersion and it really restricts planning to do something that might take too long and be disrupted by the server restart.

Will we see a day when the nightly restarts go away? Maybe a day when the nightly restarts don't happen on weekends? or will they be with us for the life of the game?

I am not asking for you to drop what you are doing and fix/change this right now. I am just asking in general.

Thanks for your time and once again congrats on the one year anniversary!
