Heres another idea i was thinking and perhaps this has been mentionned before.

How many times have you heard people grief that this and that killed me unfairly and use a trick or whatever they want to say.

Well if it pissed you off make it availiable for the general population to place bounty on other people.

aint bounty hunters suppose to hunt other people? not just jedi, everyone, i had this person asking me if i could kill another dude that killed him for no reason and he would have paid me 30k for the bounty.... Well make the bounty hunter terminal that people not bounty hunters can access it only to input a new bounty on someone else's head. and put the money right now so the bounty hunter will be able to get the cash as soon as he killed this person.

I know this could cause problems what if the bounty hunter is an imperial and the target is also an imperial... i don't see much of a problem there as soon as the mission is accepted the target would become targetable by the bounty hunter.

THIS could help with griefers ( no i aint one )

It would also create more PVP encounters and give more meaning to bounty hunters

And it would give bounty hunters another cash flow.

We need more Star Wars music, more varied combat music more general planet specefic music maybe adding fast paced music when your on a vehicle then get attacked on it. I think more star warsmusic would make the game feel more star warsy and players would get a better feel of immersion.

I think that the next step after guilds and player cities would be player nations. This could be done by allowing player cities to ally up with each other. This would open up a whole new side to the polititian profession and possibly replace some of the npc politians with players.

Nations could wage war againt each other for territorry, money, or just for the sake of fighting. Nations could have their own laws, millitary (possibly including npc's), and use some of the buildings in the main cities for official purposes (which i remember someone else recomending, too lazy to find out who).

Player Nations would create a better sense of comunity, the way player cities did, and would be a very cool aspect to the game.

If anyone else likes the idea, or would like to add something, please post!

i like the idea of player nations yet internal struggle is what the empire prohibits by their presence....hence there are no internal struggles since they would get slapped down by the man (the empire)...its much like the roman empire..existing governments are left in place to rule but the empire stands above them all. the only nations you could have fighting would be rebel nations versus imperial nations....and though leia organa stated that systems were slipping through the grip of the empire....i dont think it would be feasable..but who am i...like i said..i like the idea....but i think a new angle would have to be brought to it...maybe like alliances of cities for trade or protection..one militia could call upon the militia of a close city to its defense if it were alligned.....

Would the development team ever consider a "city guard", this would basically be an NPC militia withina city, they would attack people on city ban when they enter a city boundaries, greet citizens, help citizens if they are being attacked by wild life and things like that.

It would add to the feel of somewhere being a city, maybe it could fill the master box of politician or something.

The level of the city militia would, of course, depend upon their wages, the more money you give them the higher thelevel ofthetroops show up for duty, the mayor could also give them patrol points to follow similar to the "get patrol point" command for pets.

Another great sub feature of this would be to allow the mayor to instruct the troops of the city rules, for instance no PVP, no swearing, things like that. The pvp rule should work that if it involves faction combat the troops will attack the opposing faction (so if the city is Imperial, they'd attack overt rebels on the spot), however if it's people dueling against the will of the city the guards would knock the pair of them out instantly, like when you /punch a storm trooper

I would like to see a more functional chat system.

Like Earth and Beyond had.. with Class, and Market channels...

First off there would be as much spam as always.. but we would be able to turn off the Market channel unless we are shopping.. also Market channel was across the whole galaxy.... If someone is sellign something in Bestine.. and I'm in Coronet.. I can shuttle there to get it.

Class channels were excellent because you had an entire galaxy of people to assist if you had a quesion, also your whole channel has something in common.

You would have a lot less "how do I ? " questions being sent to CSR's.

There were also Sector channels (shout) and of course local channels (say)

Thought I'd throw it out there.

Thanks

Matsubaa,

No big deal, Publish 10 or 11 for the Combat Revamp or not, the issue is still the same. Even if it is 3 months away, I certainly hope the Devs take into account how it will effect all of us, and I agree with the earlier poster who recommended using Greenmarine's style of discussion. Very positive, honest, and open with us.

An earlier post suggested the Teras Kasi should turned be into Jedi hunters, or at least be a part in culling the Jedi. Ive seen alot of people both support this ideaand repulsively reject this idea. As for me, I do support this idea, and I'll give both pros and cons as to this reason.

The following arguements that have been said against thisare -

 • Only bounty hunters are known to hunt Jedi

 • There's enough bounty hunters to do the job

 • Teras Kasi are only martial artists, nothing more, and not hunters

 • There's not enough EU material to suggest Teras Kasi artists did in fact hunt Jedi in the past

Now for my arguements against those arguements-

Only bounty hunters are known to hunt Jedi - Show me once in the entire movie saga where a bounty hunter was paid to hunt jedi? Boba Fett? Nope, he only attacked Luke because Luke's gang was attacking Jabba, andFett was on Jabba's payroll. Jango Fett? He was hired to kill Padme and thus hired another merc to do the job. Hewasnt hired to kill Obi-Wan and that attack was just in defense. Even against Mace Windu, there he was on Dooku's payroll.

The only place I heard about bounty hunter jedi hunters was in the EU, and that was with Aurra Sing, a former Jedi herself on a revenge trip. A one-frame character later on put into a book. Still, its EU, the same source as the TK Jedi hunters.

There's enough bounty hunters to do the job - The Jedi population is getting bigger and more and more Jedi are not in fear of being hunted. Alot of them are going unchecked. However, this could change as Ive heard the bounty hunters will get a revamp and become alot more dangerous. Still doesnt mean the Jedi will be in check alot more and that fear will be established.

The TKers dont need to access the hunter terminals to hunt Jedi. As another person put it, its a moral issue and not one of money. Give the TKers the ability to at least sense a Jedi nearby and force them into confrontation.

Teras Kasi are only martial artists, nothing more, and not hunters -When a man can go into a meditative posture and actually stop his bleeding, cure poison, negate a disease, and actually heal his wounds in an AMAZING amount of time that defies natural healing, he is not just some kung-fu master. The meditation tree with its powerboost and force of will suggest that there is some inner mystic force going on here. Yes, the Jedi gather their Force from the outside while the TKers gather it from within. That doesnt mean its apples and oranges, but more like red apples and green apples.

There's not enough EU material to suggest Teras Kasi artists did in fact hunt Jedi in the past
- Ive read more material on the TKers being Jedi hunters then bounty hunters, sans Masters of Teras Kasi video game.

No one is asking forTeras Kasi artists to be the end all Jedi hunters as the bounty hunters themselves are made out to be in this game, and Im sure the other supporters feel this way too. Those that support this idea just want a little content to go with our profession other than GCW reasons, much like the smugglers. We dont want to replace the staple hunters, just something to add to Teras Kasi to make us more than just kung-fu masters because the current content in the game as well as the EU does suggest we are more.

thanks.

Hi All --

I suggest adding a feature to SWG in which each city and town, each planet, and the Galaxy as whole, would have Gazettes, i.e. online newspapers, that gamers could access while in game, by clicking a News Terminal. These News Terminals would be in public places like other Terminals, and also be placed in player's houses for a daily fee in credits.

These Gazettes could include:

1)An Ads section where vendors could provide the latest info on items available in that city/planet/galaxy. This would be much better for all concerned than looking for a Vendor on the Control+M or Control+V map, going there hoping to buy something, and finding that the Vendor is empty.

2) Editorials. It would be great fun if gamers could write editorials for these Gazettes, in which they could be a Rebel journalist denouncing the tyranny and oppression of the Empire, or else an Imperial journalist denouncing those dastardly rebels and urging everyone to be loyal to the Empire and to its kind, benevolent Emporer.

3) Players whose profession is Politician could provide updates on their Player Cities.

4) News articles could be written on events from the Galactic Civil War, or else major happenings that occurred in or near each city or town, such as PvP conflicts, player raids, and conflicts between Rebel and Imperialplayers.Other news articles would be planetary or galactic in scope.

5) Players could post accounts of their most exciting missions or hunts, possibly with screen shots included. These stories would be presented as "local news". I would very much like to hear about what other players are doing in SWG, and read about their adventures in a News Terminal. Here is an example, an account of an SWG adventure by a friend of mine whose character is named Foubarr, that couldhave beenadded as a "news" story in the SWG gazettes I am advocating:

*************************************************************************************************************************

Dantooine. Dusk. I had just broken away from one of the much too large and much too uncoordinated pickup hunting parties that form at the mining outpost. I speeder-biked over to the Flurry Antarian Rangers Dantooine Ops PL HQ, to meet with MC Arron. I'd been transferred to the Dant PL duty about a week earlier, and the HQ was being assigned to me. After some wrangling, and a few messages back to Antaria, we manage to get the transfer completed.

Arron: "I'm going over to Tat to run Jabba's missions. I could use a hand, what do you have going?"
I looked over at the weapon toting "businessman" in flowing green camo fatigues. He was mounting his swoop, and his face had just been replaced by a marine-green bounty hunter's composite helmet, obtained from some unknown adventure.
"I've got one mission here I was going to finish," I replied, "but sure, I'll help."
Arron: "Let's get it and then head to Tat."

I saddled into my speeder, and we headed out to my waypoint. What I didn't mention to him was that this was a level 40+ NPC mission, left over from a group of 17 hunters, BHs, medics and assorted thrill seekers, and that the payout would be good, because the odds would be bad... But I didn't have to, because as we pulled up about 100 meters short, he had pieced it toghether by himself:

They were the Dantri. Not fewer than six of them. Savage, angry, and unfooled by camo kits, everyone of them a solid red con. Arron, like all the Antarian Rangers, was brave but not stupid. I couldn't see it, but I knew exactly what was going on behind that bounty hunter's mask. He gripped his carbine tightly.

"That it?" he asked.
I nodded.
"...we could get killed."
"Yep."
A pregant pause.
"One sec." Arron produced a small injector needle and instantly had twice the Health, Action and stamina of any normal man. I followed suit.
"Ready?"

I fired a bleed that went badly, aggroing the MOB instantly. I began to fall back, across a running brook, trying to maintain space for accuracy. Arron stood his ground. Luckly one of us got off a few high damage rounds, and the MOB dropped, nearly at Arron's feet. Too near.
"That was close."

What followed wasn't any prettier. Blaster tracers wizzed, shaman canes flew, nearby critters flitted. We both had downers in the middle of the battle, but covered each other. In the end, bodies were strewn everywhere, smoldering and steaming, the smell of ionized air mixed with machine grease. And only two left standing, adrenaline pumped, hearts racing.

MISSION SUCCESS! You have successfully completed your mission, your reward has been placed in your account. (You recieve 13000 credits as your share)
Arron: Sweet!
Foubarr: Sweet!
Gotta love being a Ranger.
Thats one of mine, I'm sure I will remember others. What's yours?

***********************************************************************************************

Wouldn't it be great to to click on a News Terminal, and get all the latest news/adverts/editorials/stories concerning your city, your planet, or the galaxy, depending on what filter you clicked? These News Terminals would be ingame, not public websites. They would be catalysts for turning SWG into a living community, and would enrich the gaming experiance of all the players.

It wouldbe great to be able to keep up with all thelatest news about my character's hometown, Mos Eisley, Tatooine.

To read advertisements for Rock Concerts by Entertainers who have formed musical groups, where nobody could get in unless they paid theEntertainers mucho credits, and where everyone would carry on like total idiots as if they were at a real Rock Concert.

To get up to date vendor info; and to read editorials by rebel or imperial players where they could role-play and write to their heart's content; and above all to read accounts of other player's hunts, adventures etc. which would be phrased as if they were local news stories.

You could only accesscity/town news if you were in that city/town; planet news if you were on that planet. Filters would work on theNews Terminals in a way similar toBazaar Terminals.

I believe a lot of SWG players would enjoy having the opportunities to write stories and engage in role-playing that News Terminals holding onlineGalaxy/Planet/City News Gazettes would allow.

Perhaps there would even be new Professions: Journalist (Novice) and Editor (Advanced) so players who like writing and journalism could make it their main focus while ingame. Perhaps outspoken Rebel journalists would get thrown in prison by the Empire, and other players could rescue them!

In addition there would be NPC involvement in these Gazettes. NPCs would post missions not available elsewhere.

In addition to Vendor's ads, there could be help wanted sections where groups and guilds could advertise for new members, and players could buy or sell services to one another, for example surveying for resources for a fee.

Gazettes could have all the things found in realworld newspapers: Science sections, Travel sections, Business sections, Editorials, Local News, etc. Above all I would enjoy seeing Rebel and Imperial journalists have at it in editorials praising or denouncing the Empire.

Please let me know what you think of this idea. I would especially be interested if Devs could reply. What I would like too see is to be able to click on an ingameNews Terminal, set filters to Local, Planetary, or Galactic, and then get an online News Gazette that would look like a newspaper or news magazine, with stories, editorials, ads, headlines, pictures (i.e. screen shots), and best of all descriptions of fellowSWG player's adventures presented as if they were local news stories.

In these Gazettes writers, editors, and advertisers would role-play and pretend that they were writing for an actual Gazette. This would greatly improve SWG in my opinion, and make the game seem more real than it already does. For example, the fact that each city and town would have its own Gazette would enable Players to form strong attachments to their "hometowns", just as in real life.

Thanks,

Amph

You heard Bounty Hunters are getting a revamp? When? Can you post a link to this thread? Also the ONE thing I would love to see is REAL combat droids. But they have to cost a boatload of creds. I am talking about Droidekas and combat droids. These would make life SO much more interesting. Wouldn't you love to see a rolling ball of death following you around as a pet? No less aid you if in need? That would be cool and open up more options for PvP'ers as well.

Gonna throw this out again, because I think it is a superb idea.

Make a Jedi padawan able to choose a Master, and a Master agree to tutelage this Padawan. Binding the two characters together would encourage an RP aspect (I know I'd roleplay the part!), but more specifically when the apprentice is hunting with his master, he gets a percentage increase to his experience gain, like 20%. When the apprentice reaches knighthood (E.G. Facing the trials), the Master recieves a large boost to hiss force ranking. Bringing a Jedi to knighthood speaks well of your skills as a Jedi yourself. The restrictions neccessary for this system are listed below. (at least the ones i've come up with.)

2 Week delay in between uses... this prevents instant switching so a person could hunt with any jedi and get the bonus. (Also think a jedi apprentice should be able to "fall" to the dark side and study under a dark master, but that's another discussion in of itself.)

Master must have attained knighthood himself, and have a certain number of skill points immersed in Jedi-ish skills.

Master can only have one apprentice, and the apprentice only one master... subject to the two week limitation listed above.

A limitation must be put where a Jedi can only give Force Ranking to a Master for his FIRST attainment of knighthood. No dropping and getting it right back (got to avoid those exploits)

I'm sure there are other exploits that could be done even with the limitations I've described, but this is all I could think of at this moment.
