Has warping when getting off speederbikes been fixed yet? If not, leave the patch for a day and fix that.
Um, don't jump off your speeder while it's moving!

Im starting to get REALLY tired of the smugglers whining about how a hard time they are going to get. You are SMUGGLERS! You are´nt supposed to have an easy time. Smuggling is illegal. You had to see this coming sooner or later. This just adds another dimension to the game.
And one more things. Have seen rebells whining about how this is unfair, the same to you. Do you except life to be easy as a rebell in a imperial controlled galaxy?
Uh . . .
I have yet to see a single post by a Smuggler complaining that they're going to have a hard time.
What I have seen, and what I have tried to point out for people who bother to read, is that Imperials are getting better smuggling skills than a Smuggler. That has serious implications for profession identity and skillpoint investment.
This isn't a Rebel versus Imperial issue, it's a Smuggler versus non-Smuggler issue. Smugglers take issue with the fact that our core ability - ie, moving contraband - is now obtainable by Imperials who invest some Faction Points. That's unprecedented in SWG.

jedi non-permadeath?? will it be in this publish?
Yes this is in and it's working quite well.
What do you mean by"working quite well" ?
Easier skill gain?
Or do you mean harder skill gain, because of of probots scanning the wilderness and findinga Jedi using lightsabers and force powers and Stormtroopers in cities finding a lightsaber, which is serious contraband?
I hope it's the latter.
If it means easier skill gain, then I will leave the game once I see 50 Jedi dancing in Theed waving their lightsabers around like 4th of July sparklers.

Ok. I must have gotten the whole thing wrong then. Hmm. The most logical thing would be that imperials can´t be smugglers. Or when caught in a scan lost all their fraction points. Sorry for my hard words !

Ok. Im tired. It´s 2 am here. I see the problem now.
hehe.. The problem is that a high rank imp. can do the same thing as a smuggler can and that makes your profession not as important as i should be!

Thanks for your reply. It gives me a warm feeling insied to know that other players, when presented with this info, also see that there's a problem with the system.
I can't believe the Devs won't even respond to our concerns, though. Not one peep.

Yup we use the dev tracker. High ranking imperials are immune to any and all contraband scanning. That is not right on the basis that we had to pay skill points to gain that protection and the imperial did not.
The scans do not happen enough to justify the immunity, let alone make us needed in groups.
The patrols "appear" out of thin air, so constant babysitting by the smuggler would be required.
These are valid issues and complaints. To try and demean them as whining is not accurate. Nor does it make your argument any more valid.
What do you think, how many High Ranking Imps are out there?
I am an Imp, but i don't care ranking! I will get confiscated like all others!
Why I don't whine about
/whining voice ON/
"Smugglers can avoid scans to 95%! Why I can't?"
/whining voice OFF/
?
Because i KNOW, there are different roles in this game because it is an RPG! Why don't you understand it?
If you don't like this, be an Imp and surrender your Smuggler skills! So easy is that!
You all just want tobe an uber-char, who can run throug the game in 2 weeks andbecome Jedi.
Why don't you go and play Counter Strike or such? There is everybody the same and has nothing to do, just shoot!
The Devs made well thought decisions, i am sure. They know, why it does work this way.
So shut up and go playing!
You don't ever know, how it will affect the game, the community, the profession, but you WHINE about it 2 weeks before you have seen a milimeter of the new patch!

Solo and the other smugglers have researched this, read all the forums and tested it on TC. Imperials will be getting a "free pass" from the scans. So in effect, Imperials will be able to break IMPERIAL law with no consequences. Imperials will be able to get contraband past contraband checkpoints better than master smugglers will.
Oh for crying out loud...
High ranking Imperial Officers (not all Imperials) will not be scanned by lower ranking scanning soldiers.
It makes perfect sense. And it's how the Empire does it. Maybe that gives you smugglers more reason to "have no love" for the Empire, huh? It's Star Wars, the Empire rules. Get used to it.
Why of all things do the Smugglers choose something as small as an Imperial Colonel not being scanned a simple trooper to complain about. Of *ALL* the problems with Smuggle, and the type of content they should be complaining and pushing for, they choose this? Does this sound dumb to anyone else? I would be pushing for Special Smuggler Jabba Missions or something, Smugglers were gonna get NOTHING in this patch till people started yelling that they should get something, so they went from zero to...
95% chance of avoiding Scans,
Helping a *whole* group avoid a Scan
And helping the Rebels avoid Scans.
And yet for a small amount of players that are high ranking Officers, they complain? And STOP with this stupid idea that you think the Empire acts like todays cops, or todays armies, lol, the Empire acts more like 1940 Germany than it does anything else. Its a Government runby an evil Emperor aka Dictator (We aint talkin aboutahappy little kingdomhere boys and girls) In that type of Government the High ranking Officers do as they please and answer only to those above them (not a strom trooper), this is such a small silly thing to be complaining about, im shock Smugglers are wasting their time with it, with Professions like Bounty Hunter, Squad Leader, and so on, get next to nothing.
BTW, it is apart of Star Wars, the Devs got this right by allowing High Ranking Imperials ignore scans, you say they are smuggling? I say no, cause they dont have to smuggle anything. And what are you worried about? Prople standing in the Theed star port shouting for a high ranking imperial to hold their stuff? LOL Why would they do that when its far easier to just group with a smuggler. I rather take the 5% risk than the risk of the imperial making off with my stuff, haha.

Thunderheart ,
no jedi updates? Are we still grinding holocrons? It was stated in the past that publish 6 will contain these things. Are we the jedi seeking players to still grind away at holo professions?
thanks
It was never stated that hologrinding would be replaced in Publish 6.
That's something that will happen in the future, in some unkown time.
The Friday Feature said that there would be some community input into what kinds of quests and Jedi trials will replace hologrinding. So I expect that stuff will be discussed in a In Concept thread at some point.
The only thing the Friday Feature said would change in Publish 6 was the removal of permadeath, which was stated to be a change "for the short term" "to alleviate some short term discomfort with gameplay.."
Although they seem to leave open the possibility that the death counter deal is subject to change, TH has said permadeath will never return.
