Thread: ID3 Vehicle Garage Placement
Hi all!
If they are making player garages, why would they need to put more garages in the game cities? Dont you agree that when they make player garage each city that reach the requirement will have its own garage? One problem alot more important for me is the fact that I cannot take my vehicle anywhere. Ok for pets to need a camp to take out, creature handler need scout which can make camps. When they made mount I thought maybe we could take it anywhere too but they are pet as well, but dont decay overtime if you leave it there. One thing though, you can tell your mount to follow you if you dont have scout skill. When vehicle came out I thought, right, now I will be able to take it out anywhere surely. What link there is between a swoop bike and the fact that it needs a camp to take out.I dont see the logic there. You buy a vehicleto move fasterand all but if youare not a scout it becomes almost useless or a money burner.I would even say that it is not fair in a way because the guy that is scout save alot of money. He can go somewhere, fight around as much as he wants, make a little camp, take his bike and go. What did it cost him in maintenance the 5 hours he fought? Not much! I pay over 10k credits per day with my swoop bike just cause I have to leave it hanging there the time I am fighting. My point is that so far, for moving around, if you dont have scout skills you are very disadvantaged and I dont want to have all my characters to be scout just to be able to take a vehicle out anywhere.
No garages at the static outposts on Lok or Dantooine. PC garages only. Those worlds are not developed; it's up to the players to do the devloping. It would make sense for the Imperial outposts to have garages, confessedly -- but if they did, they should be limited to Imperial PCs.
No garages period on Yavin, Endor or Dathomir -- and preferrably, double or triple the rate of vehicle decay on those worlds. These worlds are too wild to support such amenities. Vehicles trivialize the risk of travel on what are supposed to be "adventure worlds" anyway. If you want to go riding around one anyway, fine, but those jungles get all kinds of gunk into your engines....
The only comment I would have is I'd like to see garages in more cities but NOT on the no-build planets (Dath etc). These are supposed to be wild, frontier places, not holiday resorts, and putting garages on them is just kowtowing to convenience-over-substance, imo.

I'm obviously the only one who doesn't care about player garages then.
For some reason, I seriously think it's better that I have to shuttle around to Mos Espa or wherever to get my vehicle repaired, I think it would lose something if there was one in every city on the map.
It's like how people ask me why I like to spend so much time in Mos Taike, "It's the ass-end of the planet" they say, well I like it, it feels like a mini-adventure every time I go there, and repairing my speeder is the same. ![]()

I'd have to agree with that.
Make the exsisting ones easier to find, add some to lok and dantooine, and leave them off everywhere else.

I second this. I think the heavily populated/visited planets should have them. I dont think all of them should. Some of the remote planits like Yavin i dont think they should have them.
This has all been said here, but I think we should be able to /find garages and see them on the overlay map.
However, I actually like the idea of not having many garages on the planets. It makes it more likely your vehicle will eventually disable itself. Thiscreates a flowing market for the crafters, who like tailors often feel that once they've sold their items to a customer, they'll never see them again.
Also, I think (and this is probably the least popular of these points) player garages should be smaller structures with less sophisticated repairing equipment. Meaning you can repair your craft, but not to 100%.
NYM'S STRONGHOLD.... Please!
The cost of flying to Tatooine along with the cost of repairs is Killing us!
If players want more garages, but there's a plan for player garages (are these player owned garages like homes or garages for player cities?), wouldn't that solve the "not enough garages" problem?
Why do you need to clutter up the pre-designed cities with more frame rate killing crud?
