I'd love to see one in Bestine.

Off topic: I've taken my landspeeder to a garage three times lately. It appears fixed, but the next time I pull it out, the vehicle is in its pre-fixed state.

Bestine for sure... Nym's on LOK as well.

List them on the world map.

I'm sure there's a few more cities that could use them. I havn't been to all the "adventure planets" but I would say that it depends on the size of the settlement, most of the ones on dantooine are too small to have a garage, but Nym's would be large enough..

Player City Garages will be introduced into the game some time soon (we have been told)

my concern is that the DEVs may have overlooked a very important aspect of these very usefull tools...

as you all know a couple of months back /citywarn was removed from the game... this has left militias crippled... (please don't make this a thread about bringing back /citywarn) with the addition of PC garages the strength of militias and indeed player cities as a whole can be boosted by making /cityban apply to PC garages

it's my understanding that PC garages will be payed for by the city in which they are located therefore I see no reason why they should not be subject to the rules by which the shuttleport, cloning center and bank are subject

DEVs I implor you... please make PC garages suspect to /cityban

if anyone can't visualize what I have in mind it's this:

player city 'A' has a PC garage... troublemaker 'b' well, is a troublemaker.... 'b'is /citybanned from 'A' and therefore cannot use the shuttleport to leave... well that's ok because 'b' has a speeder... 'b' generates his speeder to find that it is due for a 'repair' 'b' makes his/her way to 'A's PC garage to repair said speeder... when 'b' tries to do so he/she receives a system message saying "We're sorry but you are banned from 'A'... you do not have permission to repair your vehicle here... have a good day."

this will be great initiative for 'b' not to return to 'A'

thanks very much for reading

This doesn't exactly answer WHERE but rather "how do I find a garage".

Please make it so /find garage works. It can be a pain to find one and for those that don't know what to look for on the overhead map it's almost impossible. Took me a long time to find the one in Theed.

As for WHERE - well one on each planet would be nice AT LEAST on planets where people can have cities (i.e Lok, Dantooine). Dathomir and Endor and those aren't as important since they are generally used for "outings" and not "living".

Player garages will help fix the planets on which you can build.

To sum it up: normal planets have enough, as long as you can /find them or they are on the world map or something. Right now you either look for "near garage" message or the "square building" on the overhead map.

Dantooine (and probablyLok). Anywhere on Dantooine.Vehicle repair is expensive enough, add 2600 credits for the round trip to corellia and it's practically cheaper to buy a new bike.

I would NOT like to see garages on no-build planets! There needs to be some planets out there that are kept wild and I believe that forcing the use of mounts on them helps to keep that feeling. When you are on what is supposed to be a wild planet, it is easy to find something for your mount to eat but there are no corner gas stations or places to get your oil changed. Star Wars was a blend of fantasy and sci fi and there is a reason that some people rode Banthas or those things they rode on Hoth.

I would like to see a garage in Doaba Guerfel, it is a big population center.

Put one on Lok and Datooine - I don't really care where, just put one on each of the planets.

Maybe at the IMP bases as a "government facility" thing- but honestly it dosent matter to me.

Anchorhead quite often has more people in it than Bestine does. I don't see the reasoning behind no shuttle in AH.

I think finding them is a large problem too. Three things could be done to fix this:

  1. Add them to the /find menu. /find garage would be great.

  2. Give them a more distinctive shape! on the overhead map, the are plain squares. Wherever i am, i can always find starports and shuttleports partially because of their shapes. A starport is large with rounded protusions, a shuttleport is a hollow square.

  3. Add a "Garage" string on the overhead map. Other buildings say "Cantina", "Shuttleport", etc. over them, which adds to the ease in finding them.
