2. What is the Pet description, specifically (type/level, etc)?

Thanks for your input.

1. When i send my Narglatch in to fight it tends to run towards the mob, run right past it, then try to go back, and run past again, repeating this over and over and over. Seems to happen most often when both pet and mob im fighting are cats. It happens on other things but most often on the cat model.

1a. the "melee range" bug that causes pets to seem to run from the mob has gone supernova, happens on almost every fight now. More than likely the same thing as the above problem.

1b. Pets now stand on top of you instead of hanging back 5 meters or so, makes it really reallly annoying to do anything.

1c. Pet Autostore bug has also increased to an insane level, making things quite painfull at times.

2. Happens mostly with my CL53 Narglatch (and other cat models)

3. I have both BE created pets (pre and post BE change patch) and wild pets that do this.

1. What are your issues?

(a) My pets are standing on top of me. They did this before, sure, but now they are making a serious effort to remain on top of me.

(b) My pets are sometimes acknowledging the "Stay" command (in spatial & /tellpet) and they do not stay. They seem to be preoccupied with trying to stand on top of me.

(c) NPCs and other creatures I have fought on Tatooine (cupa, eopie, dewback, stormtrooper, desert demon marksmanso far) seem to run away all the time. I have chased them (and my pets trying to attack them) up to 1km away from the mission lair. Maybe this is as intended as a strategy but it is quite time consuming.

(d) This is an old one but when I am grouped my pets autostored last night at the same time my speederbike stored.

(e) This is also an old one but my pets still stop responding to /tellpet commands (fwiw: all my commands are at least 4 letters long) and need to be stored and recalled to regain the ability.

2. What is the Pet description, specifically (type/level, etc)?

(a), (b), (c) happened to me with my CL9 Lesser Dewback, my two CL18 Klikniks, my Giant Crystal Snake, and my two CL25 Greater Sludge Panthers.

(d) happened to me when I was grouped with another player and had my two CL18 Klikniks on "Follow Me".Onestored in the 1km jog transit between two missions, the other shortly afterwards.

(e) This happens to me on Tatooine, Naboo, and Corellia when I use my two CL25 Greater Sludge Panthers. This has been happening for months. I hadthe same thinghappen several times with my CL9 Lesser Dewbacks on Naboo and Tatooine as well.

3. Was it a Bio engineered pet or a tamed pet?

All of my pets are tamed.

Pet special commands have yet to work like intended. Pet specials will only work if your A) lucky, or B) tell the pet to follow the target and then spam special attack. Even then it seems random if the special attack works or not.

I have yet to play my Master Creature Handler since the big nerf that changed all the pet stats. Being a CH was fun before the last nerf, but now I won't play my Master CH until you do something about Special attacks for pets.

In a nutshell, these are all of the same problems I've experienced with any of my pets as well. And I thought we were getting the ability to call pets WITHOUT the use of a camp? I could have sworn we were getting that, and was very surprised when it didn't work for me (or should I have not been surprised?).

Some issues I have seen with this recent publish:

Pets will still stop following at a predictable distance. For me, when my pets reach 120m they will stop following every time, if I don't stop and wait for them to catch up. This happens whether they are running normally or "slowed" on a server boundary, makes no difference.

Pets are trying to stand in the same space I am. Using formations command will cause them to distance themselves and stand apart, but if I move very far from the original spot, maybe 30m or so, they lose formation and again try to satnd in the same space I am in and I have to re-issue the formation command. They also do this after giving attack command and returning to me without giving a follow command, the formation is lost and they try to stand in the same space as me.

Some combat issues: When my pet engages an NPC, they seem to be continuously trying to get to some optimum hitting range, so they "chase each other's tail" around, never finding one spot to stay and fight in. While this might seem a more natural game play situation, it has the effect of running around until the NPC finally reaches the "end of it's rope" from the lair, and will cause my pet to drop from combat and return to me, while the NPC will continue to be in combat mode and then turn it's focus to me (while solo playing) or another group member.

Pets still seem to be ignoring commands at times, mostly while in combat. I have tested to see if it is simply lag (by only issuing the command once and waiting) and it doesn't seem to be lag, but simply not getting the command in /tellpet. It's particularly noticeable when you attempt to change targets in the middle of a fight. I issue the command to attack a different NPC and the pet ignores it until I issue the follow command and then attack on the new target.

This may or may not be a pet issue, but more related to some AI tweaking, but I will add this as well. There have been many instances for me where my pet will have full attention of an NPC, then for no apparant reason (such as when my pet drops out of combat as stated above) the NPC will ignore my pet and charge me. It is almost as if my pet stops attacking and the NPC loses focus on it, possibly due to the jockeying for position effect and my pet not effectively landing blows and holding aggro.

The pets I use are 2 BE gurreks, CL25 and CL22, and 1 BE narglatch, CL21.

Actually, I am noticing this problem with creatures too. I am working on novice TKA, so I am killing the yard trash outside Coronet. When I am attacking say a butterfly, it is as if it ignores me a few seconds after I hit it. Let me try and explain...

Imagine I am a gravitational force. The planet (creature) kind of orbits around me, caught in my gravity. That's what it seems like. It kind of rebounds off of me trying to center in to attack. Very weird...

1. Pets don't keep their distance from me anymore when following.

2. Pet's tend to run, or cause the mobs to run, during combat (maybe linked to #1 above)

3. The tame levels are spread throughout the profession, but we can't see the level of a creature until we tame it.

4. The special commands don't work reliably. Some CH's have found a "work-around" macro.

5. The creature handler can't tell what specials a creature or pet has (see #3 above - need creature knowledge).

6. There's a bug that allows me to callmore pet levels than allowed when I'm mounted on a particular mount.

7. /tellpet workedvery reliably until a month ago. It's become so unreliable that I had to change my macros back to /say or /shout

Though not a CH, I'd just like to add that droids are doing exactly the same as creature pets that others have mentioned here - standing right on top of you now. Seems like something in the base object pet code has changed the logic. All droids do this too - R2, probot, treadwell that I tested out personally last night.

for what its worth i noticed the same thing with my droid, he wants to stand on top of me at all times....annoying.

These problems however are TOTALLY INSIGNIFICANT COMPARED TO THE TERRIBLE STATE OF THE CARBINEER PROFESSION. please start a similar thread for carbineers and you will know the menaing of broken professions. but you wont TH because i think you were beat up by carbineers when you were a child.

These are the issue I've noticed using a variety of pets - usually a level 23 BE'ed slice hound or a level 19 BE'ed Dewback:

1.) Pets stop fighting in the middle of combat for no reason, forcing you to command them to attack multiple times during the same battle.

2.) Pets run away, with the creatures they were assigned to attack chasing them instead of turningto the owner. This makes melee combat all but impossible.

3.) Pets randomly dissappear after the death of the target they were assigned to attack. Likewise, pets often disappear after getting incapacitated, never giving their owners a chance to heal and resuscitate them.

4.) Pathing is bugged, with pets often running sideways, making traveling any great distance witheven very fast petsin tow very difficult. Likewise, pets now attempt to stand at the center of your character instead of a few meters away, which makes combat or or any sort of world interaction (operating harvesters, harvesting creatures) impossible with larger pets.

Many of these concerns were addressed earlier by other posters but I just wanted to reiterate for the sake of being complete.

1. What are your issues?

a. Pets stand right on top of owner ( 0 m)
b. Pets move to get to some "optimum" melee range and there is a constant "running" around that ensues.

2. What is the Pet description, specifically (type/level, etc)?

a. Graul Maulers CL 35 full grown (tamed pets)
b. Toxic Merek Battlelord CL 45 full grown (tamed)
c. Boar Wolf CL25 full grown (tamed)
d. Giant Carrion Spat CL7 growth halted for mount (tamed)

3. Was it a Bio engineered pet or a tamed pet?

see #2 above

Thanks for your input.

Why do my MSE droid and my kusak stalker insist on being directly at my feet at all times when I'm stationary?

My R3 unit, instead of being called and moving away 5m or so, just sits there on my feet as well.

Don't even ask about the dewback and the savage humbaba. They hang out at range 0 and make it impossible to target anything for harvesting or looting. So I have to tell them to stay OVER THERE away from me.

You know, I don't mind affectionate pets. But this is ridiculous, and it's a post-patch phenomenon.

Let's get it fixed, shall we?

Pets running away bug (explained in detail in above post) is still around... and still as hugely annoying as it ever was.

other than that.. I'm good.
