Obviously the majority of the community wants to nerf the at-st, becuase the majority of the community is rebel. Wake up a little bit, I think the best way to rate things that need to be changed especially when dealing with faction items, need to be prorated. If you simply just look at the posts and say well the majority of the community wants this then you might as well kiss the empire good bye, because the majority of the empire is rebel, there for by looking at numbers only of course there will always be more posts saying nerf the at-st, because there are more rebels than imps.

Besides the point NERFING is not the answer to balance. Prime example when was the last time you seen any overt imp use an at-st in pvp. Answer probably a really long time ago. Why, because ever since the dev's started nerfing them, it isn't worth the risk of using them any more. Why should an imp go out and waste all that hard work and time on getting an at-st only to lose very quickly to a commando or melee person. It simply worth the hassel. After all the dev's say the want to make the game more like the movie, then why don't they do that. In the movies you don't see one or even 10 rebels taking an at-st down, it takes a whole fleet to take an at-st down. Another point, how is the empire ever supposed to win the GCW when they can't get any new recruites to join. They can't because they have nothing to offer new recruits. I am not saying that the at-st should be the only reason to join the empire, but lets face it is a major reason why people join the empire.

Suggestion #1, return the at-st almost back to its original state when the game was released, with a few minor things changed.

Suggestion #2 Make the cost of at-st's 1000 faction points instead of 9450 if you are human.

Suggestion #3 Allow them to repaired and not destroyed when incaped, similar to what happens to pets when the get incaped.

NowI know I am probably going to receive alot of bashing from rebels about this post. But come on, lets face facts without the at-st the empire is a joke, only because we have no way of defending ourselves. On most servers the rebels outnumber the imps by almost 3 to 1. The only way to balance the war is to give the imps back the at-st so that it is a force once again, atleast untill the number of imps is almost equal to the number of rebels across ALL servers. However I highly dought that will ever happen.

I hope that I did not offend anyone by this post. I am very upset with what the game is becoming. Without a change either the GCW will be no more or sooner or later everyone will just go rebel.

Ok, simply put, Im a crafter, working on architect to be more precise. And ive got some basic pistol skills to back myself up. Its immpossible for me to kill anything in pvp so I worked my ass off and got my 14k faction points needed for an at-st (14k im a twi'lek), I bought it just last week, oblivious to everything in this whole thread.

i was using it before patch to help me on missions to get money since i need cash to start off getting enough resources (although all the vehicles do that now).

Id worked my way through the 'Emporer's retreat' sets of missions up to one of the captains out the back and where you have to get the blood of a big tough creature. Today I thought great I have an at-st now ill go do that as he should be able to kill it. After a bit of travelling i arrive ands set off to where the creature should be with my at-st on guard, a deep red con manages to blast me and incap me from miles off, funny I thought, my at-st isnt pounding him as I lie there then comes the deathblow.

Then I find this hidden far too discretley in the patch notes:

"Factional pets will Only attack Declared-Overt targets (players or npcs)"

Well I know for a fact that creature I HAD TO TAKE DOWN for a faction mission wasnt a declared overt target so essentially I cant finish the emporers retreat string of missions, oh great there goes one of the interesting things I can do since I decided to be a crafter. Incidentaly (and personnally this doesnt actually bother about ataining them but just the idea again) but arent holocrons supposed to be obtainable by not just 'fighting skilled' players? or are we forced to pay the millions needed to buy them?

I havent participated in major pvp yet so Im not commenting on this whole flame issue although it does seem quite serious.

Oh and I saw one post above that said 'Notice how the only people complaining are imperials, the rest of us are happy' or something close to that. I wonder why, Im sure if imperials had something comparable theyd complain too, oh but wait someone wil take that and say that the whole point. Try saving up 14k faction points yourself as a non combatant and then turn round and realise your only means of killing normal creatures was taken away.

Seems kind of far-fetched (and stupid), that you mustbe a creature handler to handle more than one faction pet at a time, they are soldiers not animals. Butyou can tie the max allowed (called)faction pets to the characters rank in their faction, so a private only can have one, a captain 2 and so on.And another thing is, I don't believe the Empire (or Rebels) faction petsare members of Greenpeace, in the meaning of not attacking animals at all (I am not talking about AT-ATs, they shouldn't attack animals other than Rebels - not implying that rebels are animals).

An example; A Colonel has his escort of Storm Trooper (or what he like) when he roames the streets o wilderness, you'll never know when dangerous animals or opposite faction members is a threat.

Having just1 AT-STs is not too bad of an idea so it wont be used, though I would never get one for the high price of faction points they have.

You might as well give these goddamned things away for 1/4 the cost now. DTs at least have better terrain navigation and pathfinding.

Stop whining. How about not hiding behind your AT-ST's and learning to PvP like the Rebels have.

How about pulling your head out of your ass and stop ASSUMING sh*t? I pulled my AT-ST out ONCE in a PvP situation, and it was in defense of my guild's HQ - knowing full well I might lose it...and I goddamned nearly did. But I didn't care - I was prepared to lose it in defense of our base.

I enjoy killing you whiners one-on-one and I'm an exclusively combat professed character. Of course, when you're not all exploiting the group TEF bug and I find about 19 of your friends who were too scared to go overt taking chunks out of me, PvP becomes remarkably less fun.

I'm so sick and goddamned tired of people whining about FAIRNESS in a game that takes place in a WAR. Never join the armed services, then - the enemy doesn't start using rubber bullets and blanks because you whine you might die.

"BUT IT'S NOT A WAR IT'S ONLY A GAME," you might whine. Yeah, it's a game, set in a storyline which SHOULD BE PRETTY CONCRETE. And I also love how Rebels love when Imperials get neutered, further bringing us BELOW the status of an ORGANIZED MILITARY, but whine like hell how we're so much more powerful when we have anything they don't.

Get the hell off my goddamned game if you're going to whine that "this war isn't fair." I'm sick of hearing it - start playing EQ again if you can't handle a game with an ongoing war involved, or go neutral. It's that **edit** simple.

"I am Rebel, hear me whine, in numbers too big to ignore!"

I totally agree with what you are saying, I am an imp as well, but I am begining to think that the only thing SOE cares about is MONEY. Thats Right MONEY, The majority of the money comes from Rebels, because the majority of the palyers are Rebels. I want things to change back badly, but that will never happen, because of the number of posts that say the at-st is to strong.

The best you can do is just bend over and get fuced really hard in the arse by SOE. Which is really sad because at one point this game was the bomb, now it is a game where if you want to participate and succeed go Rebel.

THAT IS REALLY TO BAD.

Because we are not rebels you idiot. If i wanted to play a rebel would I not have? Stop whining because you want to be a rebel without any of the penalties or hardships thereof. Either you are for Star Wars or you are for whatever this ridiculous watered down version of the GCW has become. Why dont you just got neutral and leave the rebellion to people with a few guts?

Ok,

New to the forums but not new to the game.

I am and have been combat geared in profs for most of the time I have played the game. I just don't understand why anyone as an individual would choose to be a rebel having more than likely seen the movies then turn around and complain in the masses about how the AT-ST is "unfair". I am X-Military and an armored assualt vehichle should be difficult to destroy. I don't recall the last time I have seen or heard of a singler man/woman knocking out aM1. If you did not want to have to face an armored vehichle such as an AT-ST or AT-AT then perhaps you should have chosen a different faction or none at all.

I use to be a Master CH and I have an AT-ST. I am a Tradno and spent HUGE hours of my personal time to obtain this thing. Now that I am no longer a MCH and the way the AT-ST has been nerf'd me going solo on a surface marshall mission against 1 general, 1 surface marshall, 1 free-agent, and 1 medic is pretty much suicide. Why do I bring up the surface marshalls? I do so becuase as an Imperial this is the ONLY way I can attempt to obtain a holo on my own. Keep in mind I can complete these misssions (barely), but again I am a combat geared toon. There was a post not to far back on this thread which an artisan had wrote about being able to do missions and obtain holo's or in fact participate properly in a defense of an imperial (guilded) installation. They are now even more so hindered in getting a holo if they have so chosen to get in the rat race of opening FS Slots.

Rebels to you I say please stop your crying and accept the road YOU have chosen to take. Which is to be on the side that does not have technology to your advantage. You may ask yourselves well what do we as rebels have?

My answer to you is, The Dev Team!

@XanEldarie: You're out of touch. Ever watch the Star Wars movies? Ever read the books? Hmmm...probably not. Or, if you have, you're just a bozo with an ascerbic wit. More than likely, the latter. Get the drift...factional pets are the strength of the Imperial faction. I've played on quite a few of the servers, and on every one Rebel players far outnumbered Imperial players. And yet, on each of those servers, a higher percentage of Imperial players showed out for PvP. Learn to PvP like the Rebels have? LMAO, most Rebels won't PvP unless they are part of a larger group which far outnumbers their Imperial opponents. There's just so many of you, realtively speaking, that you will always outnumber Imperials in any given battle. And most PvP-savvy Imperials know that factional pets are essentially useless in PvP and therefore don't use them. Ah, there might be the occasion where they could come in handy, but as a whole commandos excel at destroying themso efficiently (with Combat Medics coming in a close second in that regard) that using them in PvP is a perilous venture at best. Yup, average stormtroopers are vulnerable to Heat, meaning that pistoleers and commandos canown themrather quickly in combat. Myself, I've been on both sides of the fence, and have killed the very factional pets that I now own. I know their strengths, their weaknesses, and how to use em. Sounds to me like you've been owned alot in PvP and somehow consider yourself better than those who wiped you out. LOL.

I for one like the changes made in general...as long as the other promised changes happen. What I would like to see is the AT-ST be truly regarded as the combat vehicle it really is, and treated that way. Much like the garages in many cities where we pay to have our vehicles repaired, it would make sense that such a capacity could be added to factional bases, making repairs to the AT-ST possible for a fee of some kind...be it credits, or even faction points. That would make sense.
