You waited for a quest based system, you got it and you still complain cause you have to take more time to get what you want. This makes zero sense. If you knew to get a jedi you needed to grind you should have started the grinding. Why did you wait? Cause you thought it would be handed to you on a platter?IT nothing in my eyes.
You have been playing you profession to the fullest. Good why be a Jedi then. If you wanted a Jedi you gave up the right to play your profession to the fullest.
This is nothing but whining.
IT's like someone tells you if you want to be buff you need to go to the gym everyday to be buff. As a response you tell them no Ill wait for steriods to be legalized.
Then as you siit and do nothing that would actually get you to your GOAL, others go to the gym and work out, and guess what? Their buff!!!!
So finally the day comes and they legalize Steriods, but guess what you still have to work out some to get benifits and it still takes time. So you complain so more.
Sorry, but it is disgusting to hear people whime cause they don't get what they want right now. The arguement I paid 15 bucks a month to play this game I should ahve a Jedi for doing nothing it is pointless.
You knew that getting a Jedi would be hard and time consuming last year. before the game came out, and now you complain?
I don't get it. You should have holo grinded, you were dumb to stop, why play your profession to its "fullest" when your just going to drop it for a Jedi anyway?
The point: You can't have your cake and eat it too!
The hologrind was assinine. This is a RPG not a grind-as-many-professions-as-you-can game. It was a stupid stupid way to do anything. I actually play the game. That is not "doing squat". I am willing to bet that I have been more places and seen and done more things in this game than you have ever thought about. I found pois before they were on the data pads. I did the rebel theme park when the best thing you got was Ackbar's stupid flight suit. Dont even think that because you did however many profs in a timeframe that you are some kind of power player or 133t player. You are not.

As the number of Jedi increased on the servers, we increased the required number of hidden boxes.
When enough people have completed their path, we will open it up the village to the next group. Groups 1 – 4 will qualify for a visit when the village traffic has died down. Of course, if you qualify for the visit under the new system, you will automatically be granted a visit from the old man.

If you have… You will be granted access to the village…
No professions remaining:Automatically qualify
1 profession remaining: Automatically qualify
2 professions remaining: Group 1
3 professions remaining: Group 2
4 professions remaining: Group 3
5 professions remaining: Group 4
This is a bunch of bull. I'm glowing with the force already, but I won't be able to get to the village for several weeks possibly even monthsas I wait for "traffic" to die down?!?
I'm so annoyed right now, I can't even express it in words. I've been sitting around for the past month or two just waiting for patch 10 so I'd actually have something new to do, some goal to actually work toward. Now, I've got to sit around and try to occupy myself for several more weeks or months waiting for other ppl to get through the village. This is simply unacceptable. You add new content but tell people that even though its in the gamethey can't get to it unless they basically wait around for a month or more?
I can understand not wanting the village to be crowded and whatnot. But so the hell what? It might end up being crowded but at least you would have players enjoying themselves instead of being pissed off while they basically wait in line for access.
I didn't think it was possible, but this is worse than the hologrinding implementation. At least with the hologrind, players had something to do and felt like they were making progress. With the village, players are just sitting around waiting for their turn. Waiting for all the other people to grind through the ridiculous amount of xp needed for force sensitive skills.
You don't want people advancing too quickly through the village so you gate them with the 4 quest phases. You don't want too many people to get access to the village to quickly so you gate everyone with this access limit. How many time sinks can you stack before you're players get fed up with it?
The absolute worse part of this - the players don't even know when they will actually qualify for the visit from the old man now. /check may show a player as glowing, but depending on their professions remaining they may be sitting around for a good long while. Its bad enough the devs decided to change to profs needed to unlock without telling the players, but now they change access to the village at the last minute too. This is just unacceptable.
May the force be with you.....well I checked andthe force is indeed with me, I'm glowing with the stuff.....too bad some stupid old man and some ass backwards designers can't see that. Hologrind, FRS, and now this - how many poor implementations can SWG handle? Better question is how many poorly designed systems can the players handle before leaving? MxO and WoW are looking pretty good at this point.

Everybody complaining about not being visited by the old man the second you logged in today or complaining that you're not in group 1 and threatening to quit.....please do us all a favor and quit already.
Letting PCs be able to play as Jedi in this game has been the single biggest mistake the devs ever made.
I mean seriously.....imagine just for a moment if there were no PC Jedi in this game.
Just think of all the real content, finished professions, hell even the combat balance that the devs could have put in the game all this time instead of wasting the last 6 months working on almost nothing except revamping Jedi?
What a huge waste of time and resources.

If this game was how you explained it. I would be playing something else.
