3. People who did squat for a year, then 2 days ago went and got badges. I have no patiences for this type. YOu knew a year ago to grind professions yet you didn't do it. You waited for a quest based system, you got it and you still complain cause you have to take more time to get what you want. This makes zero sense. If you knew to get a jedi you needed to grind you should have started the grinding. Why did you wait? Cause you thought it would be handed to you on a platter?

so accomplishments in this game is just about badges and grinding professions? jezz looks like i been playing my professions to its fullest is none in your eyes

IT nothing in my eyes.

You have been playing you profession to the fullest. Good why be a Jedi then. If you wanted a Jedi you gave up the right to play your profession to the fullest.

This is nothing but whining.

IT's like someone tells you if you want to be buff you needto go to the gym everyday to be buff. As a response you tell them no Ill wait for steriods to be legalized.

Then as you siit and do nothing that would actually get you to your GOAL, others go to the gym and work out, and guess what? Their buff!!!!

So finally the day comes and they legalizeSteriods, but guess what you still have to work out some to get benifits and it still takes time. So you complain so more.

Sorry, but it is disgusting to hear people whime cause they don't get what they want right now. The arguement I paid 15 bucks a month to play this game I should ahve a Jedi for doing nothing it is pointless.

You knew that getting a Jedi would be hard and time consuming last year. before the game came out, and now you complain?

I don't get it. You should have holo grinded, you were dumb to stop, why play your profession to its "fullest" when your just going to drop it for a Jedi anyway?

The point: You can't have your cake and eat it too!

You automatically qualify. Hang out in the wilderness and you will be visited in a short period of time. The old man will visit you in the wilderness and send you on a quest.

Please define "wilderness" and "Short period of time".... Ever since I've been glowie, I've been well outside any city in the wilds of Tat... yet no visit from the old dude.

I signed on and I feel an inner glow the force is with me and i have done rebel theme park, warren, jabba's them park, nyms theme park, 47 poi and six professions. Didn't use holos at all and didn't grind. Will I be visted soon or do I have to wait for all the grinder to finish? Also, we need some more details on how the groups are regulated by entering and exiting is it by completing the quests or my physicallying being there that you are montiering?

Don't forget that we STILL have to do all of the damn quests anyways if we want the new items, even if we unlock them with our "credit."

You still have to do the quests, but there were no rewards or quests before. Now, the path is wrapped in content instead of starting as a brand new Padawan character who was very vulnerable and very hunted.

This system is partially bugged with the Profession Badges you added later into the game.
Example: I mastered my first holo (Dancer) before profession badges. I log in today and see that I am not glowing but only surge with the force. I have done all but my silent profession which would have granted me 5 branches and a trip from the old man. But since I didn't get the first holo badge I'm not granted 4 out of 5 holos, only 3.

I can assure you that this is not so.

The way your holo-professions were accounted for is seperate from the badges being displayed through the interface.

ive been in the wilderness for 2 hours and no visit.

TH you really need to clarify the position on "professions remaining". If someone has done 4 holocrons and were on their silent that ought to mean 1 profession remaining. As somewhere in the region of 75-80% of players don't constantly trawl forums and game-guides, they do not know how many "silent professions" there are.

Giving preference to holo grinders isn't really right either.

I will use myself as an example.

I did 2 holocrons, and decided to become a chef back in November 2003. During my busy time as a chef I did my other 2 holocrons, and a few other "choice" professions. I think i mastered about 15 in total. I was not pushing the grind as I knew this revamp would happen and being promised "compensation" for my efforts, I felt I would get a fair percentage towards the new quest system.

It was my choice to become a crafter, I enjoyed it, I felt it was a good, fun element of the game, which grinding profession after profession wasn't (fun). Part of the new Jedi quests involves a "Crafting Tree". So why are the crafters being punished for being what they are, or were over previous months? Why don't the crafters have equal or more rights to automatic entry to the Village? Those crafters who actually found the time to grind out their holocrons surely deserve there entry straight away providing they have fulfilled their badges etc and have a Glowy status.

So, I wonder just what stage I am at now? Having done 4 holocrons, and a further 10 professions, having found the time to do POI's, themeparks and have my "Glowy status". Will i gain automatic entry? Or will I have to wait alongside all the other players who actually try to "Play The Game" and not spend endless weeks grinding out professions to gain entry AFTER these grinders?

Whilst your post regarding what reckoning players will get is appreciated, it isn't clear enough. We aren't asking you to unmask the secrets of becoming a Jedi, we are simply asking you to clarify what our efforts in the past are now actually worth.

TH. Ill throw out another question. When you say 1-3 days. Does that mean we need to be online for 1-3 days? What happens if we are afk and he shows? What happens if we go on vacation for 1 week? Is there a counter that starts when we login? By that I mean, if we get disconnected, do we start the time again?

I think you should havemade the pub 9 unlockers like myselfjedi the instant they logged in this morning without even having to deal with the village. This would have alleviated the traffic so other players could get in sooner. We've earned jedi and wedont need tobe keeping other players from getting into the village.

Other than that, it is exactly as it should be (well, except for the fact that i have to wait a few daysfor the old man to visit me).

Thunderheart...why is this just coming out today? I am really looking forward to this and have been for a very long time. I am sure once I get there I will love it. But now I am stuck waiting for another month most likely based on the schedule in which the old man will visit.

Now I can easily deal with that but it would have been cushioned alot more had I been warned with at least a days notice. This is a big issue on these boards and this game about communication. I know you all have gotten much better at it since the beginning of the game. But it really seems like someone dropped the ball on getting this news out to us. Even if someone in the office is away and cant get back...isnt there someone around who could have passed this news on to the folks really looking to do something today with this patch?

When enough people have completed their path, we will open it up the village to the next group. Groups 1 – 4 will qualify for a visit when the village traffic has died down. Of course, if you qualify for the visit under the new system, you will automatically be granted a visit from the old man.Always.

This morning I logged in to check.
Edit: Current Stuff I've got.

29 profession badges
5/10/25 collector badges
fort tusken pool
ruined jedi temple
CoA badges: Deadeye, 2x Vacca's Allegiance badges, Final Chapter
Bottom of great falls (theed)
Outdoor theater, vreni island
crystal fountain, bela vistal
Ewok tree village
Dulok village
Imperial hyperdrive facility
Imperial theme park completed

When I logged in, I am 'strong with the force'. Since those who completed all but one professions 'automatically qualify' should I read this to mean that out of the 3 (with one SOoooooooo close to finishing) professiosn TOTAL remaining I hadn't done, i somehow managed to have -two- of my 'holo' professions be in there? The odds against this are fairly staggering. Or did my 'automatic qualification' get moved down a notch to allow the 'have finished all required professions/already unlocked' time to go to the village unharassed?

Question: What about those who have done all but the silent profession.

A friend of mine has done this, but he is not glowly. He is in the same position I am. WHich is faint.

Is the syntax set up for the badges, and he gets the old man in 1-3 days, or does he have to get the Glowy?

It was stated that the Old and New systems and what they unlock are separate entities. If you are a hologrinder and not glowy that has nothing to do with your quest status. The /checkforce command is purely for the New quest system and will not reflect your progress that is based off the hologrind... That, if any will be found out, andto what degree, once you get to the Village.

Basically if you have completed 3 or more Holocrons your earn a free ride to the Village and branch unlocks depending on your total number. If you have not completed 3 you will need to participate in the new Quest system to the full extent.

Im not upset about waiting for the old man so much as I am upset about the credit given.
80% of the way to opening you changed it to 50%, and now with this new system you saddle me with a lousy 33%
Fair credit? BS
What angers me the most about this whole BLUNDER of yours is the fact that I had to ruin my character to open a 2nd slot to be able to play jedi all the while you kept changing the rules. In the end you even changed it to the main is now Jedi further ruining my mains beloved classes.
2 things you could of done to avoid my anger.
2nd slot Jedi not first as originally done
4 holo professions done 80% in new system
5 holo professions done 85%
6 holo professions done 90%
7 holo professions done 95%
That would of been FAIR CREDIT
YOUR SYSTEM IS NOT FAIR.

So TH, i never did the hologrind, but i was Glowing when Patch 10 went live. IE the first thing i did was /checkforcestatus, does this mean i can expect the old man to swing by in the next 3 days, or am i in some later group?

The only reason i am pissed is because this is a Publish. there should be somthing new for me to do now that it is live. Yet there isnt anything new for me and i have to wait god knows how long (weeks possibly) before i even see this village. Knowing my luck i will miss the old man when i am AFK or somthin and lose my chance to go to the village.

Dont be so Smug Dev's you screwed this one up. Now it is time to realize that andfigure out how you can correct your mistake. Mutilple villages woulda been smart or go visit a number of differentNPC's on different planets to receive intro quests to gain village access. This isnt a brain bender people . Your average SWG user coulda came up with a better solution to keep down traffic , lag and how to be fair to the people who grinded holos. like hhmm gee less quests maybe ?

I feel bad for the holo grinders cause thats the only advantage they got. they still have to do ALL the same quests we do ,they just get to do them first? yeah ok thats a good idea (NOT). Who is the person responsible for coming up with this crap anyways? cause you can tell him he's a Moron.
