Implement asimple solution to create PVP zones of control
Ok, that was my one sentence. Keep reading to find out how:
Do this by introducing a new, extremely rare resource required to make crafted factional armor (see quote below), with the catch that any harvester that is harvesting this resource becomes destroyable by the opposite faction (like a lair or turret, the bigger the harvester, the more HP).
Make spawns of the special resourcelong lasting (1-2 months per planet, with spawns staggered by a week on each planet) butlow %, to encourage guilds to set up strongholds (including bases and turrets) to dominate the resource spawns and protect their harvesters, creating de-facto zones of control,probably with minimal coding. Make the armor have very low condition (10K max), so there is a constant struggle to stay equipped and control the resource.
Remember....this resource is only useful for a type of armor that is only really desireable for PVP, so there will beno potential for griefing non-PVPers, because only PVPers will care about it.
Also, make faction bases worthwhile, by adding magseal containers that spawn a daily allotment of components required to make this factional armor.

Amen. They seriously have NO place in the GCW. Rebel vs Imperial. That is one pvp system in and of itself. Keep it that way. Let us normal people fight other normal people. So what are jedi to do? Make a pvp system for them and only to them. Light Jedi vs. Dark Jedi. They fight in the wilderness, as in hiding. NOT in cities.
This makes the most sense! Jedi are not supposed to be the heroes and villains of the GCW.
