Thread: AT-ST changes on Test Center
The joke is on all us that thought as a master CH even, or a colonel (I am both) that we could command 3 atsts. We cant , no one can. And not only that CH's were badly and critically nerfed. And just before all you non-ch's laugh, apparantly, from what the devs say, this is all part of the big plan. Basically, every patch will include a massive nerf against at least one class. Divide and conquer might be their motto these days it seems, all part of their "big overhall of the combat system!". So we will all be sucking to overcome anything meanfully, making us group together for fear that some mediocre monster will kill us and degrade our expensive armour and krayt weapons. It will take hours a night just to find a meanfully group to hunt, all the best hunting spots will have a waiting list, yada yada yada, seen it all before in EQ, where I gave away all my gear as a level 56 warrior, then deleted him. Hope this doesnt happen here, but SOE is resorting to what they know best, just nerf and make everything tedious. Dont have happy customers, have obsessively compulsive customers.
PS: Did SOE staff start to screw this game over on purpose since SOE cut so many jobs lately?
What else can i say that isn't already said ![]()
The Dev's are follwoing the numbers - way more rebels - so way more customers. It's always nice to support that part of the game / clients.
I do believe that they didn't expect that heavy resistance from the imperials but be sure - they don't care i think (except for a few exceptions maybe). The war will be over - more and more people will joint he Rebellion - more and more imperials will quite. More and more Jedi's will be on the look out to lead raids on our bases / cities.
The only question i have is why is Lucas allowing this?
...aaaaaaand some "creatures" cost 9000 Faction Points. If you want balance, you need to look at all aspects when comparing issues.

I didn't want to reply before I knew how the changes would affect game play. Now that I have had the change to use my so called gifted AT ST with its buffed up 55k HAM, I must say that I am very disappointed in its performance. No Emperor in his right mind would let his Technicaly Advanced Army use this kind of inferior equipment to wage war on several planets at the same time. Sure it is an All Terrain Scout Transporter, great. That same AT ST has received the earlier mentioned buff of 55k HAM. Its a gimmick. Its a laugh. Its a lie to think it is actually a benefit. Its not. Bear with me. Not only goes the armor from Heavy to Medium, it also has become more vulnerable to kinetic and energy (only an AR of 35% on that. That is a 65% decrease). I cannot even do half the amount of missions before it gets to the point where it will be a risk to even use it. 4 missions and it went from 55k to 42k! 4! Missions!
On top of that, its minimal damage output has decreased to 770, whicn was 1240, and it has become easier to hit. So, in short, it will have more HAM (yaya gift) but it receives so much more damage then ever before that it renders that bonus completely. Oh and the Fire DOT is still there and we still cannot heal it.
And this does not include the bugs I've found of it simply disappearing (ghosting, who is going to log in midle of a fight??), and simply refusing to obey orders even if you have half the base firing at you. It won't hit back unless it gets hit, or if you're just lucky.
Once my two AT ST's are gone, I am not going to buy one. Its pointless, even for missions its pointless. I probably switch to darktroopers if I even can be bothered to log in the game after it comes back up. Right now, so many nerfs at once has become so frustrating that the fun factor has turned down to 0.
And no, my experience tells me the AT ST will NOT last longer in battle. So whoever thinks about using it in PVP, hats off to your bravery sir!
And the 1 pet is idiocy. I never had more than 1 AT ST out, but loved having an extra trooper just in case. Since the AT ST is such a stubborn critter that it very often refuses to obey my direct orders (no lag, text appears immediately and it just ignores whatever I tell it to do) I started to use a trooper as back up. That trooper followed me everywhere and offered some surpressed fire when situations got a lil hot. No more. Fine. Then give me another tool to work around the bugs in the game so that the creation of a safety net is not necessary. Or do you think that people enjoy insuring their equipment just so they can have it decay?
Guess I'll trade my AT ST for a superior Dark Trooper, which only cost about the half, obeys better and is far more efficient in supporting me then the AT ST now is. And the good thing about the Dark Trooper, besides looking cool like a marshmellow man, I can heal him! Wow! What a feat! My AT ST is smoking and I cannot repair it. I guess the Empire have terrible mechanics who have no clue how to fix what the very thing they designed. Its a miracle we have lasted this long in this war. Ehm ... what war was it again?

Lucas has no say in it, Lucas Arts gave up all creative control to SOE. And obviously SOE had no creativity.
The game was fun 4 months ago.
ok, first off, all the Imperials that keep saying that the devs are catering to rebels blah blah blah....
SHUT UP!
The Devs are NOT catering to rebels. They're doing stupid stuff that neither side wants.
I'm a rebel, and a commando, with a flamethrower even.
I think that a lot of these changes are stupid. The big one being that you have to be a CH to have more than one FACTION PET out. This is one part that doesn't cater to rebels. If you look at an AT ST compared to one rebel trooper. But that's not really the point. The number of faction pets should be based on faction rank. I will keep saying this on every thread of these boards I can find ntil they do something about it.
They basically just made EVERYTHING based on being a CH. non CH can have one vvehicle in their datapad. CH can have all 3. Can someone explain THAT logic to me?
As I've said, I'm a rebel. What I think is if they made faction pets based on faction rank and removed that STUPID idea of faction pets attacking faction targets only, that would actually let there BE a GCW. Since people have to walk around declared to use faction pets, they would. If you can use several faction pets at once, like you should be able to if your rank is high enough, then there will be PvP all over the place among all combat skills doing missions. Not just the raids where you have the characters build solely for PvP attacking a city where the only people there are characters who aren't made ONLY for PvP. It would really change the dynamic of how the war is fought
Also, the current TEF system has GOT to go. It makes raids ridiculous. The fighting will just go on and on until everyone gets bored or their armor completely decays. Thyere needs to be another solution to the continuous cycle of a rebel group fighting an imp group continually because the TEF lets everyone die and keep going because of the stupid TEF.
DEVs-
Your pitiful attempt to show realism in the game amazes me. First of all, answer me this... A commander is walking along with his troops when all of a sudden he is attacked by a big scary monster. Do his troops step in and save him or watch him die? Under your pathetic system of resticting PvE with Faction Pets they will sit around watching you die. The purpose of giving them the ability to attack monsters is for the protection and support of their commander. Now how, you ask, do we make things realistc? The answer is simple, although you seem to be blind to that which is in front of your nose. First off... THE EMPIRE IS SUPPOSED TO BE STRONGER THEN REBELS!! Look at EP. 5... the Imperials come in and the Rebels run screaming and begging for mercy. The entire problem with the Rebellion is that theyre supposed to be the underdogs... make players really have to consider wether or not they will put their life to such a risk to fight for their cause... See? Realistic, makes for good Roleplaying... looks good to me. Second... You make it so that NO ONE can get faction pets untill they reach an officers rank... another simple and obvious solution. This also makes it so that the appearently overpowered Faction Pets are a great deal harder to earn without changing the system you already have very much. Third... Up the power of ALL Imperial Faction Pets. Stormtroopers, the most feared soldiers in the Galaxy, get their asses owned everywhere I look.... Ridiculous.Up the cost of them (and them alone since you are only uping their power... we dont need ATSTs that cost 20k for a human, thank you), and with the addition of the fact you must obtain officer rank to command them they wont become overpowered either way. You are far too concerned about balancing the Rebllion and the Empire, when the Empire was clearly ten times stronger. Besides... everyone is a Rebel anyway so giving Imps more power will only make it so the Empire stands a chance against the Rebellion. Then when everyone goes over to the Empire... well, thats how it really was, no? If you consider this letter harsh, just remember how close I must be to cancelling altogether... Your taking a great idea and ruining it with mindless and needless updates, and I refuse to pay per month to play a game that you are going to continue to screw over with stupid addition... you dont have to make changes every 5 seconds... on the contrary, its very annoying. I hope you decide to see sense and chang this, I might just keep playing if you do.
Hmmm, AT ST's not used in PVE much?

Look in the middle. This is real life, not an edited photo. There is no reason why certain people should have a huge advantage over others, in a game, but is is happening. I am not saying anyone here does this, not pointing fingers anywhere but at the general reason why ATST's are getting clobbered.
You might as well give these goddamned things away for 1/4 the cost now. DTs at least have better terrain navigation and pathfinding.

My prayers have been answered!!! /cheer /cheer /cheer
Thunderheart, you rule!! (as well as anyone else associated with this move)
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
