Thunderheart

for heavens sake just spend 10 minutes of your valuable time to say more than one or two sentences on this subject.

Please explain it in terms even Joe Noob would understand. With examples...why not?

You are an ex-player come SOE representative (and player at the same time)..you have a unique position..so why do you never use that which you have? Are you so shackled tou cant speak, or are you so blinkered you dont see, or worse still do you simply not understand?

If you want help, we are here in thousands to give it to you, but if you think you know best..well I am sorry for you.

Does it come in your job description : delay confuse and annoy the playerbase? I bet it doesn't

SO my advice to you, slow down, listen more, answer less, untill you thoroughly understand an issue from both Dev and Player perspectives

I hope this helps you.

God Knows you don't understand DE

PS Althogh I am factioned what about those who choose not to participate in factional conflicts, it seems pretty rude to screw them over like this.

Once again I vote to repeal 1% deacy altogether

are you devs nuts. nothing in this game decays right. my vehicle should have bit the dust a long time ago. my clothes, my weapons, my toon has had his clothes longer than i keep a pair of socks!

its time to face the facts, this game is screwed. you have a database that cant take anymore items, so you decide to put on vendor caps. okay great, now i will need to rent houseS to store my stuff, and none of will get sold cause of the imperial crackdown. further complications arise because vendors from master merchants who have dropped their skill has not been lost, items like spices dont stack, but drinks do, people become tailors to find that they have no market.

AND NOW YOU WANT TO CREATE ANOTHER WAY FOR ITEMS TO REMAIN IN THAT BLOATED DATABASE?!?!?!?!

so i guess the solution will be to cap vendors at 25 items instead of 150 sometime down the road eh?

So much for a Smuggler revamp, maybe they should just rename us, it would take less time and be easy to do.
"Useless" would be my first choice as a name suggestion.

of course at this point there is no reason to revamp anything. SOE should just shut the game off.

I don't think anyone wants yet another time sink just so they can participate in the GCW which to many is the only fun aspect of the game.

Why does the dev team feel they have to keep adding more and more time sinks just to get down to the main objective of this game?

Stop making us be spectators instead of participants.

How long do you thinkpeople aregoing todo a faction grind just to participate day after day after day before they throw in the towel?

Do you really think adding these time sinks bring any kind of fun into this game in any really meaningful way?

Have you even thought about the people who only get to play this game a couple hours a night?

Just to clarify TH again, he said that they cannot tell the difference between PvE death and PvP death. The reason this new system will work is because it tracks FACTION death vs non faction death. Where i am now confused is when TH says it is for PvP ONLY and NOT PvE. You also said it will work against factioned NPCs. This does NOT MAKE SENSE. We can take missions for factioned NPCs from faction terminals. This is absolutely considered PvE, there is no way this could possible be construed as being PvP. Did you mean TH, that it will also work against Factioned Pets, and NOT standard faction mobs(i.e. stormtrooper missions and such). If this is what you meant, i believe it is imperative that you communicate this to the community as soon as possible so we can begin offering feedback in the form of constructive criticism. If this is NOT the case, then you need to stop saying that it is solely for PvP and not for PvE because 95% of all factioned NPCs are PvE encounters.

Also... If the system has no way whatsoever of determining whether or not it was a player that killed you, and ONLY whether or not the deathblow was delivered by a member of the opposing faction... there are several discrepencies that stand out. Firstly, factioned NPC deaths do NOT take away FP from you when you die. Players of the opposing faction do. If the system does not differentiate between PvP and PvE then how does it know whether or not to take away faction points? If you are going to claim that it can only tell the difference in faction situations, then i suggest to you that you remove 1% decay from ALL pvp faction death, period. Furthermore, if the new insurance day pass only works on players and their pets and NOT PvE faction missions(as you claim) then how does the system know the differece? They are both factioned deaths(as you also claim). Can you please clarify this further?

P.S Thunderheart said:

"This is a PvP issue, Exclusively.

The "PvE" part is forwhen a Factioned NPCIncapacitates you."

Make up your mind. If it works against factioned NPCs then it is NOT PvP EXCLUSIVE! Can you say Duh? Also, incapacitation is not the issue here. Did you mean deathblows?

P.P.S. 1% DECAY ON FULLY INSURED ITEMS SUCKS!!! REMOVE IT!

I'm sorry if this has been addressed, but if you can get a TEF, shouldn't you be able to say that any TEF'ed player has no decay penalty?

i would say make it cost 1000 faction a day for pvp and 10k a day credits for pve, make the faction high so people actually have to work on faction daily. I would pay 5k faction a day for no decay if i had 2 tho. I like this idea alot

If they understood this game might be marginally enjoyable, but as it is it is getting more and more unfun with every single publish. Developers make promises they can't keep, no decay in pvp?

That ten minutes that Thunderheart would spend writing something insightful and perhaps helpful would be less time he gets to spend with his feet on the desk. I don't even think the people who work on this game even play it anymore. CSR's can't answer questions on fundamental aspects of the games and even developers have gotten one or two things wrong..

Someone said above to invest your money in a different game. Great advice, after this publish it looks like I will be.

For **edit**s sake people. It's a simple concept. There is no way to tell whether you are killed by player or mobile. However, everything has a faction (including animals) and those factions are logged. It's how you can gain -5000 meatlump faction. Since, there is no way to tell the difference between player kills and mobile kills, they flagged the rebel and imperial factions. Buying pvp insurance flags the opposing faction (if you are rebel, it flags imperial. If you are imperial, it flags rebel) If whatever kills you is tied to the flagged faction, you're items don't decay.

It's a good comprimise to get rid of pvp decay. You should be thankful it gives you the bonus ofa little protection from pve decay.

Just get rid of the stupid armor decay at deathalltogether and else it should cost 30fp per month. This daily running to a recruiter is just another unnecessary annoyance in the game. *sigh*

FIX THE VENDORS INSTEAD MAKING NEW BUGS

Thunderheart,

I honestly think you and the rest of the dev team are making the "decay on death" solution harder than it needs to be.

Here is how to fix the system to provide a "sting" on death, and to answer the questions in regards to providing repeat business for tailors (most of whom, to my knowledge are also armorsmiths and make money by selling armor)

1.) Double the Cloning Fee

2.) Cloning is a one shot deal ( I.E you die, and pop in cloning center, you need to pay again)

3.) Awaking from a cloning center leaves you with 1 point of HAM
(you'll either need to heal yourself up, or sit for a minute or two)

4.) Tack a 1% decay hit on every 5 times an article of clothing is equipped.
No need to do anything for weapons or armor since those decay natually anyways.

Think about it, If I put on a sock enough times it will get a hole in it.
If I tie my shoes enough times, I will break a shoelace.

5.)Master Crafters get 100% success on repairs on items they make, however the amount of max condition lost would depend on the quality of the item.
Tie this in with the Experimentation line. (Rename it to Experimentation/Repair)
(I.E A master weaponsmith will always succeed in repairing a gun)

There ya go. Problems Solved, Player Base Happy,
Cats and Dogs living together, life is good.

I was very much looking forward to participating in PVP on Bria, but not until PVP has some sort of reward other than FP.
(BTW The current fp rewards on opposing factioned players are pathetic)

I've loved this game since the first week it was out, but I'm slowly getting a bad taste in my mouth from all the crap that has been pulled so far.

BTW, TH I've sent copies of this to you and JustG. I hope you guys take some word from your paying customers, as one of the first rules of business is:
