I have three issues. One is a cs ticket atm.

1. This one I have placed 2 tickets on now, waiting for response on second. I began my village visit by speaking to Paemos and getting my 4 free branches. Was pleased with being given credit. I then proceded to check the trainer to see what I needed to do to learn the remaining skills I wanted. I found by reading that I already had all teh prerequisites to learn Melee Defense I except for the exp. I then proceded to talk to paemos again and traded all my extra exp in to learn enhanced reflexes. I then had ALL prerequisites met to learn it. However when I try to learn the skill I am told I cannot learn anything yet. So then I thought, well maybe I just have to complete a quest, so I went to some captain guy and did his quests. I still cannot learn this skill. So I place a ticket, expecting that I am bugged. A csr responds by referencing a web link to some holo credit stuff as though I were asking for additional branches or free exp or something. I AM NOT LOOKING FOR HANDOUTS. I feel that I was mislead into thinking I could learn a skill that I seem to not be able to. So, now instead of being that much farther, I now find out after doing a little research in a player faq that the skill I want won't be available for several stages...we are talking months from now. The trainer dialog needs to be reworded and I should be able to either put my exp elsewhere or redo my quest and do the whip missions so I can at least use some of the exp I have converted.

2. My next issue I cannot open a ticket on until my 1st one is responded to. I completed the captain quest and could not receive the reward because my inventory is full. If my first issue is resolved by resetting my quest history, then I am not concerned with this. If my first issue is not resolved then I feel I deserve this reward. I can at least give it to a friend, because I am telling you right now, if my first issue is not handled properly, I will be cancelling both my accounts immediately. It is not my fault for believing what the trainer says.
3. My 3rd issue is with the customer service. Before I decided to write this email, I attempted to get some help from the chat function on the lauch pad. I attempted to explain my situation to the CSR-Rickk. He told me to place a ticket. I explained that I couldn't because I already have one open. He responded, and I quote,"MY GOD, OPEN A TICKET". Why I still pay money for this, I am still trying to figure out. I am outraged that a customer is spoke to like this. To use my lord's name in vain and completely ignore my issue is VERY poor customer service. I expect a full apology for this. I was under the notion that CSR's were on the chat lines to help people, not disrespect them and push them to cancel accounts.

As you can see, I have several valid complaints. I have never felt so unfairly treated by a service that I pay for. For over a year now I might add. Please help me resolve these issues so it can be another year.

I must say the new Jedi trials are very cool. I was afraid after reading TH's post thati was going to have to wait weeks before getting into the village but within two days of glowing im in the village and loving it. I received the visit from the old man the day after the patch and the sith attack came the day after. But that was nothing compared to what was in store for me when i arrived at the village. I am really excited about the build process, you can customize your Jedi exactly how you want him. Yes it will take several weeks before he is truly a Jedi but i dont care. I can do several quests, grind xp to convert to fs xp or just hang out in the village. Either way, it is one of the best additions to the game.

This was the most exciting and fun 3 days i have had since signing back up to the game.

Problem: For those of you where the Sith spawn inside a tree a house or any object that will prevent you from attacking it. I had the same deal......

Greetings....

I have been looking forward to Publish 10 since the news that the Jedi Path was being changed to a questing path. Several of my friends have also been looking forward to this patch.

I am not a holo-grinder...I developed my character to be very specific, because I am a roleplayer. The point of mastering professions never made any sense to me at all. Luke was never a "master" at anything except for recklessness, and little "Ani" might have qualified as a mediocre droid engineer in Episode I, but he certainly was never a master at it. So the whole notion of mastering as many professions as you can until a little magic box told you that you could create a whole new character from scratch just was a big fur-ball.

But I continued to roleplay with no intention of pursuing to become a Jedi through becoming a know-it-all philanthropist who has nothing left in the game to do except to get to know the ways fo the Force.

My character is a Master Dancer. And I mastered Merchant while I owned my own cantina and the money was good. But in preparation for chosing a side in the Galactic war I began training in polearm. I had to give up Merchant because dancers make more money than merchants that can't craft. So Here I am with two mastered professions and I know which end of a vibro lance to hit creatures with.

I like the idea of "learning the ways of the Force". I love the idea of it being a quest-driven system. Let's face it, that's exactly what happened to Luke. So I have been planning my character development to dabble in the initial Force sensitivity quests hopefully to create a more interesting character. Essentially a dancer who has an uncommon kack for using a polearm...well beyond that of a normal cantina entertainer. And I would intend to quietly pursue the paths of the Force.

But now we have Publish 10, here at last, finally....and where do I stand? My character has "a faint sense of the Force." That's perfect...that's exactly what I want....but what do I get for it? I should have a random proc in battle that doubles or triples the damage done by a single attack...and then a short phrase "You suddenly feel as if the world around you aids in heightening your senses." And for the next 20 seconds my health regen and action regen goes sky high. THAT would be interesting...it would coincide with an unusual sensitivity that I would have no control over....it would also raise my awareness of the power of the Force and lead me to want to learn more about it. Maybe every now and then, I could get a message that says "You seem drawn to the starport...as if you should board a shuttle, but you have no idea where to go..." Over time these messages could be more frequent or more detailed....maybe I'm at the starport and something seems to draw me to want to travel to Dathomir.

But no....instead of something that INCREASES the mystery around the Force, I am instructed to simply...and BLINDLY....just continue playing my character as if nothing ever happened. And maybe one day while I'm online at maybe about 2am on a work night, some strange old man will walk into the cantina and say "It is time....go here, do this, do that, have fun..." ????

I don't get it. That doesn't even make sense for the fantasy roleplaying setting that IS Star Wars. What if my character's father was a Jedi....and he was killed in the Clone Wars. Andmy character"wants to become a Jedi like his father"...where is the roleplay element for that character??

I just don't understand. The whole hooplah seems to be geared toward the "holo-grinders" that just want to be a Jedi because they have nothing else left in the game to become. These are the exact same players who will become Jedi through any means that you provide and then after attaining that goal, if you have nothing else to offer them, they will be off to another game.... While the roleplayers are forced to sit on the sidelines and simply watch because the system doesn't work for us anyway.

So now that I have a faint sense of the Force....what do I do to increase that sense?

It better not be "go master another profession" because that means you have not changed the Jedi system at all...only placed more controls at your disposal to manage the number of Jedi in-game.

And if the answer is to simply keep playing, and hope that someday some old man shows up, I'm not so certain I have that much patience. I've enjoyed the game, but after the Jedi system and the Space Expansion......I just don't see much left in the Galaxy for a Master Dancer from Tatooine to do.

I sure hope those holo-grinders find new content.

Problem: The Sith you are supposed to kill and loot spawn inside an object like a tree or a house! You can't get to them and so your stuck......

Fix: Get a friend to stand in front of the tree or house (between you and the Sith) get your weapon out that does AREA ATTACKS do that and you'll notice they'll come running after you or your friend.

But don't let your friend kill them otherwise you can do it all over again!!

Good luck,

I just had the sith attack me. I shuttled into force caves retreat and noticed one saying my name and he attacked someone else and that person auto fired and killed him. Then 2 more came at me that I killed. I looted a waypoint datapad, but it tells me I cannot use it until I loot it. Kinda confused. Was the one that the other person killed supposed to have something I needed to loot also? Anyone know if they will attack again if that is the case? Thank you for any help you can give.

Hi all,

I have just started playing SWG for four weeks.

So far, the game is fun. Publish 10 does not affect me at all since I have just started recently.

For whatever reason, if the outcome of the release had affected so many gamers,

I think the implementation team did not studied the game statistic well enough to understand what the gamers have been doing in all time.

I am for sure they should know

- How many characters had already mastered what professions for how long.

- How many of them have been idled since publish 9.

- How many of them are hologrinders for Jedi (roughly figure by looking at the statistic)

- How many of them have already unlocked all the holo slots...

- How many of them are looking forward for certain bug fixes. (statistic can be found based on current character profession(s) and known issues)

With all these data they should pretty much know what will be the impact to the existing users with the new release.

Seems to me, the communication channel has been misplaced or not even exist as so many gamers did not receive the pre-release notice.

I have been working in software development industry for 9 years, certainly some coordinationsare missing in here. I gues the development team must have concentrated too much effort on solving the duping issues earlier and overlooked the release 10.

BTW, will I get an old man visit "one day" even I haven't mastered anything?...

Cheers

I have to say that these past few days have been a blast. The anticipation of the visit from the old man to getting twitchy looking over my shoulder wondering when I was going to be ambushed was just terrific. I knew I was going to have to drop skills to do any FS training, so had myself all prepped and ready to go when the time came. I didn't 'get the glow' until the evening after patch came out, so I wasn't even sure if I'd get the visit this time around, but was glad I did.

After converting all my old experience to FS experience, I'm once again gaining xp for everything I do...which is unexpectedly neat. I haven't gotten scouting xp for AGES. I'm glad you put all that stored up, maxed out, xp to good use.

The process of getting to the village went flawlessly for me. About 36 hours after getting the glow the old man shows up. Pretty much right on cue, 2 hours after that the 2 Sith jump me. Finding their camp worked perfectly. Then it was off to the village...the music when you approach is really spooky and fun, by the way. Once there, after greeting friends who had also made it there recently, it took me over an hour to figure out what I wanted my 3 free branches in and to convert all my old xp.

The only hitch in the process I had was with my first scouting mission from Whip. The villager I was supposed to find in the Sith encampment was buried in the landscape. I don't have a major problem with waiting for a server reset to try it again, but it would be nice if Whip would let us reset it (better yet, make the NPC placements a little more aware of their environment ... maybe wander a foot or two every now and then). And that was one heck of a tough fight, too! I'm not a major fighter type, I'm basically a novice pistoleer with a good meat shield (MCH). Took me a good long while to finish off those pirates. Was a little disappointing to not be able to finish...but with all the fun I'd been having the past three days, it wasn't all that hard to take.

I know it'll take me a long time to get the last three branches filled in, but that doesn't matter to me much. I now have a reason to hunt and gather resources...to do the things I'm trained to do. This has given me a purpose again.

Thank you.
