Jedi Robes
Long awaited are the Jedi robes! Gone will be the days of Jedi running about in armor. The Jedi robe will provide a hidden toughness value that will protect the Jedi, similar to armor, but providing more of a Jedi feel. These robes will be issued to you as you advance through the quests and the Force Ranking system; each have their own look based on rank. Should you lose rank, your robe will be stripped from you and the appropriate level reissued.
What is going on here? I thought these robes were to do just what this says.
If you guys keep making changes, what good are these Jedi Archives anyhow. It
Thanks for diggnig this up BlueHorizon, this is what I was refering to indirectly in my post.
Th is saying that there were other "reasons" for doing this but short of people using multiple DOT weapons I can't think of another instance that would giveone person an unfair advantage over another - can anyone else?
I mean everyone has the ability to use a macro to unequip/equip differing armor types in the heat of combat. And if everyone has these abilities, how is it unfair if the other player choses not to even though he has the ability?
I'm not trying to flame here, I'd just like to get some clarification or lines of communication open regarding what we can do to work together on this.
TH, please some specifics if you could regarding what other scenarios this delay is meant to address.
Thanks

The vehicles are slower so that jedi vehicles can be faster than anyone elses, I think they were already at the maximum speed the servers could handle.
So to let jedi's have faster vehicles everyone else got nurfed.

What people told you this was a problem? I bet it was the same little kids that said waiting 10 minutes for a shuttle was immersion.

I feel like Charlie brown, trying to kick the football when that b***h...what's her name? Marcie?... keeps pulling it out of the way.

"Ahem - Thunderheart, he asked about "outside of combat" and you replied with a "during combat" answer?"
How is the game supposed to know when you are about to enter combat? It can't thus it cannot differentiate between the two.
On the other hand how often do you take your armor off? I do sometimes (I only PvE) when my mind is getting low and I don't have any brandy/food out of a crate to each (or stomache is full). But for the most part I live in my armor.
I cannot believe this response. It betrays a lack of knowledge of basic, fundamental game mechanics.
This person must bea developer posting in the stealth mode.

Oh, and what's with vehicle speed being slower now? Why do you devs seem to think more wasted time is a good thing? I mean, come on now, this is getting stupid. Over the last six months 4 of my friends have left this game due to poorly thought out patches, continual bugs, and the enjoyment devs seem to take wasting our time. You better have one he11 of a combat revamp planned.

Instead of only complaing about what is happening on the live servers I strongly suggest people to take action - not by cancelling subscriptions but by joiningthe testcenters....
I prefer to cancel my account (which I did). The problem, Zhentarim, is that SoE doesn't pay me to test their product. I was paying them to play it. Being a developer myself, I'm well aware that there are lovely unit test frameworks and automated test tools on the market that when used properly, can significantly improve the quality of the code.
However, even assuming that SoE devs produce near zero-defect code (since 100% defect-free code is extremely difficult to produce - I'll give them that much), the problem I have isn't necessarily with the code itself, but with the actual ideas behind the gameplay!
If SoE devs are like other devs in the world, they have absolutely *zero* control over how the game manifests. They are *told* what to write by game designers, product managers, marketing personnel, etc. It's less likely that the devs have the decision-making ability and more likely that the marketing division of SoE does.
By the time something goes to a test center anyway, it's too late. The problem with SWG, in my opinion, isn't necessarily the devs, who probably work very hard and are very frustrated with the ambiguity andidiotic ideas they have to implement - the problem is most likely closer to the source of the ideas themselves. Unfortunately, because SoE made such a terrible mistake of setting up the initial storyline and context for SWG, they're doomed to spiral down farther and farther into the depths of failure, regardless of what they do now.
I'm sure many players will want to play JTL when it's released, but I've realized that it's pointless to continue playing SWG. Now, I'm on a mission to help other players realize the futility of continuing to waste their time. Go outside - enjoy the nice weather! Cancel your accounts because SWG just plain sucks.
You might respond with, "But.. someday, maybe SWG will no longer suck!". If that's the case, then perhaps I might try it again later. But I'm not paying SoE a dime more for beta-testing *their* product. Think about how rediculous that sounds - you are *paying* a corporation to test their product. The honorable thing to do would be to allow you to play for free at least if you dedicate your time (and time is money my friend.. trust me..) to help them test.
