The vehicles are slower so that jedi vehicles can be faster than anyone elses, I think they were already at the maximum speed the servers could handle.

So to let jedi's have faster vehicles everyone else got nurfed.

The thing about all this is, they are never going to answer the questions and complaints. They have a "vision" for this game and they will move forward with the belief that the majority of the playerbase is with them. A forum post has yet to change this game at all for the good. Its more our legal complaint space.

That being said it seems that the whole game is about jedi now. Only people I know who are happy are those who have jedi.

Jedi Robes
Long awaited are the Jedi robes! Gone will be the days of Jedi running about in armor. The Jedi robe will provide a hidden toughness value that will protect the Jedi, similar to armor, but providing more of a Jedi feel. These robes will be issued to you as you advance through the quests and the Force Ranking system; each have their own look based on rank. Should you lose rank, your robe will be stripped from you and the appropriate level reissued.

What is going on here? I thought these robes were to do just what this says.

If you guys keep making changes, what good are these Jedi Archives anyhow. It

Thanks for diggnig this up BlueHorizon, this is what I was refering to indirectly in my post.

Th is saying that there were other "reasons" for doing this but short of people using multiple DOT weapons I can't think of another instance that would giveone person an unfair advantage over another - can anyone else?

I mean everyone has the ability to use a macro to unequip/equip differing armor types in the heat of combat. And if everyone has these abilities, how is it unfair if the other player choses not to even though he has the ability?

I'm not trying to flame here, I'd just like to get some clarification or lines of communication open regarding what we can do to work together on this.

TH, please some specifics if you could regarding what other scenarios this delay is meant to address.

Thanks

Sigh.

I honestly wanted to play a Jedi, and have been grinding to it as much as I can as a casual player 18 done, but really now, this is just foolish. Once again, why must the entire player base be punished on the account of a few people.

What was a game with so much potential, heck it's still there, is being nerfed into obscurity and horrible game play, because a few people have an idea in their heads on how the game should be. These people, the devs, need to take a dose of reality and start making the game that we are paying for.

The changes to accuracy are really hurting the heavy weapons department. The LLC was already horribly inaccurate, but was at least usable because of its speed. Now it never hits anything.

With the patch, flamethrowers are annoyingly innacurate. With Flame Single2, I missed 5 times in a row against a 12 foot tall creature standing directly in front of me. Now, I'm spraying a giant sheet of flame out of the flamethrower. It should probably hit something every once in a while, especially considering you have to wait 5 minutes after firing before you can pick your nose again (exageration, but you get the point).

I think accuracy for heavy weapons needs a serious boost.

DEVs the community is asking you for your vision on why Jedi are running rampant every where on the server without fear of retribution from the empire?

Continuity calls for Jedi to be in hiding. The player base wants that to be a factor in this game. Lucas Arts already has a number of games we can play if we want to run around in a Jedi dream. Please do not ruin the game for us.

I would like to see TEFs for use of light sabers, display of tags, and use of force in public. Group members will not cause the TEF. Only x amount of people not in the group will cause the TEF.

To help the Jedi... make sancturary cities. We have plenty of vacant starter cities. Pick two remote cities. Bel Vistal and Deeja Peak come to mind and give one to Jedi of each side to play in. They will not get TEFs in these cities. They can have their Jedi vs Jedi battles and groupies can come to watch. This keeps them away from the general population in Theed and Coronet and allows them to function in a social environment.

No problem. Too bad the ending got cut off it somehow : \

What I meant to say was, what is the point of the Jedi Archives and all these future promises you keep making us if 2 weeks later you renig on what you promised?

It has really passed the breaking point and I think alot of people (jedi mostly) are getting tired of the flip flopping.

A friend of mine put it beautifully when he said this,

"Ahem - Thunderheart, he asked about "outside of combat" and you replied with a "during combat" answer?"

How is the game supposed to know when you are about to enter combat? It can't thus it cannot differentiate between the two.

On the other hand how often do you take your armor off? I do sometimes (I only PvE) when my mind is getting low and I don't have any brandy/food out of a crate to each (or stomache is full). But for the most part I live in my armor.

I cannot believe this response. It betrays a lack of knowledge of basic, fundamental game mechanics.

Oh, and what's with vehicle speed being slower now? Why do you devs seem to think more wasted time is a good thing? I mean, come on now, this is getting stupid. Over the last six months 4 of my friends have left this game due to poorly thought out patches, continual bugs, and the enjoyment devs seem to take wasting our time. You better have one he11 of a combat revamp planned.

You've discovered SOE's secret to MMPORG success: WAITING+ DELAYS + SLOWING THINGS DOWN= FUN!! I understand that in build 10 there will be a delay when entering buildings because it's unrealistic not to knockon the door and wipe your feet before passing the threshold.Running will be slowed to a cool and fun saunter. There will be a delay when talking because it's "unrealistic" not to clear your throat before speaking. They will also institutedelays at the bazaar because we all know how much fun it is to stand in line at the grocery store. If they do things right, SWG will be as much fun as visiting the DMV to renew your driver's license. I can't wait!

Seriously, when are the devs going to make changes that actually makes the game moreenjoyable? All this talk about balance and"exploits" and the like is fine, butI'm beginning to suspect they'velost site of the fact that this is a game. There's nothing, NOTHING realistic about an MMPORG.How does adding annoying weapons and armor delays make this game more realistic? If I hityou in the head with a stone dagger "in real life,"you'd most likely die within seconds. That's realistic. There are no magic "stims" or dancers or musicians or doctors that wave their armsto make hearts flitter above your head that would prevent this. All the delays in the world will not make this game more realistic.

Please make this game more fun. Thanks.

Zhentarim wrote:

Instead of only complaing about what is happening on the live servers I strongly suggest people to take action - not by cancelling subscriptions but by joiningthe testcenters....

I prefer to cancel my account (which I did). The problem, Zhentarim, is that SoE doesn't pay me to test their product. I was paying them to play it. Being a developer myself, I'm well aware that there are lovely unit test frameworks and automated test tools on the market that when used properly, can significantly improve the quality of the code.

However, even assuming that SoE devs produce near zero-defect code (since 100% defect-free code is extremely difficult to produce - I'll give them that much), the problem I have isn't necessarily with the code itself, but with the actual ideas behind the gameplay!

If SoE devs are like other devs in the world, they have absolutely *zero* control over how the game manifests. They are *told* what to write by game designers, product managers, marketing personnel, etc. It's less likely that the devs have the decision-making ability and more likely that the marketing division of SoE does.

By the time something goes to a test center anyway, it's too late. The problem with SWG, in my opinion, isn't necessarily the devs, who probably work very hard and are very frustrated with the ambiguity andidiotic ideas they have to implement - the problem is most likely closer to the source of the ideas themselves. Unfortunately, because SoE made such a terrible mistake of setting up the initial storyline and context for SWG, they're doomed to spiral down farther and farther into the depths of failure, regardless of what they do now.

I'm sure many players will want to play JTL when it's released, but I've realized that it's pointless to continue playing SWG. Now, I'm on a mission to help other players realize the futility of continuing to waste their time. Go outside - enjoy the nice weather! Cancel your accounts because SWG just plain sucks.

You might respond with, "But.. someday, maybe SWG will no longer suck!". If that's the case, then perhaps I might try it again later. But I'm not paying SoE a dime more for beta-testing *their* product. Think about how rediculous that sounds - you are *paying* a corporation to test their product. The honorable thing to do would be to allow you to play for free at least if you dedicate your time (and time is money my friend.. trust me..) to help them test.

Cancelling my account is the only, tride and true, capitalistic means of voicing my opinion - one that will definitely make an impact to SoE's bottom line, even though that may be a tiny impact, it's still probably going to get more notice than this post or any other post on this board.
