Just like to bring up and mention again for all who are complaining:

Nobody forced you to join the Rebellion or the Empire.

Think about that next time you complain about the crackdown and be glad that the game hasn't ALWAYS had the crackdown, like it should have since day one.

No one is forcing you into PvP.

Just lose the sliced weapons and spice. By carrying these you are saying, "yes I accept the risk, and understand I may be involved with PvP as a result".

Alternatively, lose the sliced stuff, and opt for non pvp.

Saying "But i need that sliced Rifle to have any chance to solo a Krayt" isnt good enough.

So, if the devs were to announce that non-TEFd covert rebels could attack overt imperials, you'd be ok with that? No complaints? Overt Imperials should be susceptible to sneak attacks like that. Noone forced them to join the Empire. Right? And it's keeping with continuity, and makes sense that a large group of coverts should be able to sneak into town and perform a surprise raid.

Hmm.... I think we'll have to get a petition going for that if covert rebels are indeed made overt.

^^^

/petition to make covert Rebels able to attack Overt Imperials, sicne this would go with the story better. Heck, Rebels were able to sneak around on the Deaths Star in disguise then take out the whole brig. Hehe, this would be Star Warsy!!

The devs will never let coverts get the jump on overts. They took it out in the first place for a a reason.

OceanMoon You're a Moron, congratulations!

What you're saying sounds like a Crack Fiend complainig that he keeps getting busted for possession. Or a petty thief who gets mad because he got pulled over and has ripped off stereos in his trunk.

Spice = Drugs = Illegal

Sliced Weapons = Illegal

Keep in mind that in the sense of the movies the Imperial is the government of sorts and the rebels are the terrorists so to speak, going around blowing things up (death star (Government installation)). In a sense you're the troublemakers and the law is toughening up.

Read my previous post as to how to keep Imps free from penalty (It's balanced for both sides)

It is feasable to play with unsliced armor, and if the NPCs scan and attack you, kill them all or run. Whats the fun in playing if you win all the time.

To clarify I meant how to give Imperials penalty, not keep Imps free.

Sorry bout that

I would like to propse a more Star Wars feel by adding the following content to the Imperial Crackdown:

  • Covert Rebels can attack Overt Imperials at any given time, but doing so would make the Covert Rebel and Overt Rebel after doing so. This would make suprise attacks more frequent and add a more Star Wars-like feel to the game
  • Covert Imperials who are scanned and saluted by an Imperial Scan Team member is now open for attack by Covert Rebels because the Stormtrooper just saluted an officer and making that officer open for attack. Covert Rebels would be then made Overt as per above.

Just imagine how this would help PvP and further the Star Wars feel because Rebels would then be able to use guerrila attacks on Overts and Officers. This fits in with the Rebels as Terrorists idea.

Note: Before anyone starts belittling this, this is you chance to PvP and fear that the Rebels are about to strike to take over planets or regions that are Imperial Controlled so they can get supplies needed to help the Rebellion survive. Especially if the crafters are going Neutral over this crackdown.

Also I think Smugglers need to be able to craft fake ID's. Maybe depending on the skill level of the Smuggler or whatnot that gives a precentage of *fooling* a scanning officer. However to avoid exploiting somehow the cards would need to be made hard to make or something and say for example untradable...only usable by the recipient, and maybe only scannable 10-20 times before it's worn out. It would also be cool to see master smugglers have an option of a temporary character name change. Maybe for one hour out of a 24 hour period a MSMUG can choose a name from a predesignated database of "Neutral or Friendly" names to avoid scans or whatnot

I think this is all subsumed by the underworld skill bonuses to avoid capture. Obviously just beinga Smuggler won't get you through scans, they have to know not only how to talk convincinglybut also how to hide the contraband they may be carrying and how to make the scna team think they are not a wanted fugitive.

The smuggler providing these things for others is subsumed in the fact that he gives his bonus to all in his group.

So while I think stuff like forged IDs, secret storage compartments, etc. sound neat, I am not sure it's really necessary to introduce them.

One thing I would like to see is a way to get Image Designers in on this. It would make their skills be in greater demand - right now, the only people who go to them are those who want a makeover for cosmetic reasons, but if the Devs could come up with a way that Image Designers could use their skills to help people avoid scans, that would be kind of cool.

I like what PWY said above. It would add more to the GCW. I don't know how often I've seen an overt imp running past and having my trigger finger itch. The perk of being a reb is that unless were spouting anti-Imperial trash talk, then the imps don't know were commin.

Also if we're trying to get more Starwarzy, we need to eliminate all non-human imps. If you ever watched the movies and read the books, I believe I have only seen 1, alien Imp ever; Thrawn. Now I see Imp Wookiee's all over the place along with Imp MonCals and silly stuff like that. I mean why join the military of a force destroying your way of life and civilization. It was the MonCals that designed the rebel's heavy spacecraft. The wookiee race was enslaved and used as pack mules. The only Aliens you ever see working for the Empire are the non-faction aligned Bounty Hunters who just enjoyed the thrill of the hunt and the creds.

I'd also like to see badges for all Crimelord missions. It would be great to see a Smuggler with Nym's Badge, Valerian's Badge, Jabba's Badge, Borvo's Badge. Now thats one connected Smuggler. Also just a heads up. Lady Valerian doesn't give you anything after completing it. No reward no nothing. Just a "Come back later" and nothing after coming back later.

Thanks!

oh my god, stop your whining.

they are only trying to make it true to the actual story.

it's the way it was in the star wars universe, and it is (finally) the way its gonna be in the game. yeah, its not fair, but guess what? it's not supposed to be fair.

so get over it, and stop being a crybaby.
