Thread: Force Ranking System Feedback...
- after gaining the enclave entrance my force regeneration was fast and pleasent. somewhen I lost connection and no its 5/sec or even lower.
. buddy reported that using meditate and getting on a bike will keep the faster regenerate ammount up. sort of freezez it as long as he stays on a bike. since I do not have meditate, I couldnt test it at all. getting onto bike did nothing

It is impossible to two Knights to kill each other, and barely possible even if one knight intentionally wants to die. I had someone "try" to let me kill them by staying knocked down, with no damage shield or saber equipped and I could barely do more damage than he regen'd from buffs.
Conversely I will reiterate the same holds true vs. a TK master wearing no armor.

Just a wee question as to the accelerated FRXP loss -
WHY?!
We're not gaining XP any faster (afaik) and there are no more playable hours in the day, so why lose it faster? All this seems to achieve is making it impossible to gain in rank.
The template I was given is Master Enhancer, Master Defender and 2h Lightsaber - I cant possibly gain in rank - I cant even kill bountyhunters if they're buffed
It's my personal opinion that what both of these posts have in common is the fault in the system. Buffs. The numbers are targeted at unbuffed players...not buffed players. As you can probably tell from my previous posts, I'm not a fan of everyone requiring Doc buffs in order to be able to fight. Buffs are what has made it possible for people not to care about the encumberance of their armor. Buffs have made people not want to group and it is the buffs that are making this situation more difficult to balance.
...I am soooo going to get flamed for saying that

A few issues:
- As a Master Healer/Master Enhancer/4004 Lightsaber Jedi, I can't imagine how I would have risen to my current enclave rank without having been granted it by a developer (as I was). I am currently a Rank 7 Consular, and I loose about 700 FRE every two hours or so. I suppose that seems a reasonable amount if you can kill other jedi for 1000 FRE. However, given this particular template, I can't kill anything, certainly not Master Saber/Master Defender Jedi. I have to run screaming from Nightsisters, after all. As great as being a healer is for groups, I gain only a smidgeon of experience from participating as a healer. I could not imagine dueling people on the basis that would have been required to reach my current position with this build. As it is, I expect to drop fairly soon out of my current rank through not PvPing enough and not being able to do so effectively when I do.
- While hunting in PvE and grouped with a fellow light side member of the enclave (who is one rank above me), I was slain by a Krayt dragon. For some reason, I lost points in my PvP rating (note, not the FRS) and she gained points as a result of me dying to the dragon. I received a message statng that she had killed me and she received the message that she had killed me. However, I don't recall seeing a loss in Force Rank Experience as a result, just a reduction in my PvP rating. Later however, I died while in the same 2-person group to a Nightsister, but there was no PvP rating adjustment message.
Ahh, but it wasn't so bad after my buffs vanished and you insta-dueled me, right? I threw on my armors, assumed a sacrificial position, and you were able to choke me to incap quite readily.../grin.
Anyway, some problems I've noticed during the time spent at the Dark Jedi Enclave, not specifically about Force Ranking for the most part.. but certainly related, if Jedi are supposed to be able to attain and hold on to their Rank:
* Out of all the many healing skills, only one is actually viable when buffed Jedi are being hurt badly (ie: by their own Sentinels), and that is the total heal, which costs 1K force pool points to use. As a Master Saber/ Master Healer, I have around 6500 force points available, so as you can see I can heal merely six times, throw a few Dervishes and I'm out of the game. During our battle with the Light Jedi, particularly when our own Sentinels started attacking us, I was quickly drained of force and mostly unable to help any further as a fighter or as a healer, since regeneration is quite slow. Speaking of which, my brothers and sisters who would have gladly given force to me were unable to, thanks to Transfer being completely broken.
I would like to see /healAll*2 ramp up to be more in line with a Stim D or E, instead of a mediocre Stim B. In battle I am not worried about people's wounds and BF so much as I am in keeping their pools full.. and I'd like to have enough force left to enjoy using my saber (and getting at least some ranking points for kills). A rez skill and a diagnose skill would be handy to have as well in this tree.
* Our own Sentinels at the Enclave should not be a red dot to us. We were under attack by our enemies at the doorstep to our Enclave, so of course we used our best attacks (areas), and what do these powerful and foolish Sentinels of *ours* do? Join in on the side of Light. Beautiful.
* A TKM with some defense stacking and a nice weapon readily and easily slaughtered two of us who were Oppressors (the rank right below Council), saber masters, giftbuffed and force armored.
* Thanks to the vastly accellerated FR experience loss, and two deaths, I lost 10K FR in one day of playing, while gaining perhaps 100 FR points due to one death of a BH and the 20 points I received for the eventual deaths of a couple of the Light Jedi. ... Not that I care, really, since we receive no benefit whatsoever from our current Rank, or our robes.
* Assuming the Light and Dark Jedi rumble last night had not included our own Sentinels attacking us, and assuming everyone one both sides were Master Saber/Master Defenders, we'd be fighting there until the end of time.. or until someone got unlucky and their buffs ran out.

The Senior Designer who wrote the FRS needs your feedback. Here are some of his questions:
Losing of Force Rank experience –
difficult is it to gain FR experience. Are you able to make enough to qualify a new rank? Can you maintain the experience that you earn, or is it lost too quickly in pvp, etc.
demotion systems need a good workout. Are you getting the skills that you should get? Is the data on your character staying in sync with the enclave data (the rank you have as shown by your FR skill tree should equate to your position as displayed with /showCouncilRank).
voting/acceptance logic is working as intended. Try to do wacky things to break it.
Any Jedi below Knight makes you actually lose 1 FR point. Promotion/demotion and the majority of the system is untestable as our sabers do not do enough damage to harm let alone kill another Jedi.
It is impossible to two Knights to kill each other, and barely possible even if one knight intentionally wants to die. I had someone "try" to let me kill them by staying knocked down, with no damage shield or saber equipped and I could barely do more damage than he regen'd from buffs.

Maybe saber damage isnt the issue, maybe its the games innability to have balanced defense. Bh have just about 0 defense, but a tka or jedi will be impossible to hit therefore no matter how little damage they "claim" to do they will still always win, making the concept of bounty hunting pointless.
Why not give master bh a ranking system just like the jedi have where with x number of kills you gain chance to hit bonuses allowing a better chance for taking on higher level jedi. You could even make the bonus only work on jedi therefore not imbalancing normal pvp.
