All I have to say is I am sick an tired of Spawn Timers. I spend way too much time fighting other players over spawns in this game its silly. What you definately should consider is the fact that spawn timers add nothing to difficulty they mereley make things more annoying an less fun for the players involved. I would suggest thinking of alternatives to Spawn Timers.

Also after having spent 2 days trying to get the Mark of Intellect me an my group camped all the spawns on Valcyn. After several hours nothing had spawned for any of us. So that quest is bugged on some servers.

Its nice to hear how happy everyone is. Did you notice most of those are from people who got lucky and finished the quests.

I on the other hand am not as happy. Some parts of the quest where quite enjoyable. The sennex cave was fun, looking for the farmer to get the next part wasn't. I spent two days looking and wasn't able to find him. Finally I got lucky, yes lucky, and found hime today.

I've been hunting for the pirates and haven't been as lucky. I've spent 15 hours over the last couple of days bored out of my mind looking for them. If I didn't want the reward so badly I would have given up days ago.

I disagree with a lot of people about the spawn rates of the farmer, boar, and pirates. Why should I spend time being bored looking for a spawn that may or not be bugged? Or that other npcs in the area may have taken out.

Don't get me wrong I like the content, but if the intent was to make it fairly difficult to get or the intent was to make it challenging then I'd say it was a failure. I would have rather spent time doing multiple parts with instanced caves or spawns. At least then I would have thought I was doing something useful not just wandering around hoping that the spawn was just over the ridge.

The boar spawn could have been more inventive. The could have been a trail of dead bodies to find and follow. The fighting a few smaller beasts the big guy would be like a boss.

For the pirates send me running around tatooine talking and killing people. It would have been more entertaining than running around the wilderness with nothing to do.

Tha'ts my two cents worth.

Stop Whinning about not being able to find the badges and crap... It took me nearly 2 months to find Altruism and Intellect back before Christmas...and it wasnt easy, but i did it. Its not something that you can just go out and get...you HAVE to search for it. SO QUIT COMPLAINING ABOUT IT BEING TOO HARD!!

Ka-Shuwo Nada

I'm gonna have to agree with this... I spend 3 freaking months looking for Intellect and Altruism. Ifound them. I considered it one hell of an accomplishment. This was long beforevehicles. Before mounts. You think the spawn areas are big now?I'd like to see you walk, justonce, from Eisley to Taike and back

I'm seeing way too manypeoplecomplain because they haven't found all four in, what, 2 days? Sheesh. Some of you people needto go on a few oldschool corpse runs.

TH, this is a loaded question. Your gonna get both sides of the extreme with feedback here. Some say its annoying and boring and the others will say its challenging and different.

A nice medium here would be multiple spawns of one type of quest instead of one at time. So more people will hunt instead of camp. Or you could always make it mission bassed (but heres the kicker, give no WP, just general area) and they would still have to search for there personal mission.

I cant wait to collect all 5 badges, but might wait till the hype has gone down a bit.

I just hit a bunch of buttons and hope everything works out.

Read these 2 topics:

you will see our feedback!

But i copy+paste mine in here, in case, you are lazy to klick them:

IMHO the Hermit quests are too stressful.

It is not funny to camp a wp2-3 hours long, waiting for a farmer or travelling from city to city hours long for a bounty hunter!

Why it is stressful?

I was running around for the Farmer 2 hours long, then i thought, i try to find the BH. A friend of mine, who just started the game, sent me a /tell to ask some questions about the game, other player sent me /tells about asking wp-sof BH and another player sent me /tells about the current wp of the BH.

I did not know, whom to answer first and i had to get a shuttle to the sent BH-WP trying to catch him and finish the quest.

When i came to the BH, there were about 10 players around and i could only speak to the BH, before he disappeared. (another player finished the quest)

So, if i find it again, i can be sure, there will be an amount of other players and i cant read the story in full length. It is not fun!

I want to enjoy the quests, not just klick the right answer, (i got from a walkthrough) to be able to get the badge!

I know, it is not meant to be so, but this is the current situation!

If you want to add content, that is meant to be rare, forget the random spawns and rather try to make quests with puzzles, where player need a brain.

The BH quest is the right direction. You could make a system, where the content of the riddles are different for (almost) everybody (maybegenerating from modules). So you could prevent the walkthroughs (although, random spawns don't prevent them too, just makingthe questsannoying).

Yesterday i found the BH (a player was /telling me the coords), but it disappeared, because another player got the right answer.

Everybody was angry. Me too. Definitely not fun!

Maybe instanced or static NPCs?

(Hire a game designer, who knows, how to design quests, or at least letthe current oneplay Gothic 1-2!)

Due to high player demand, we have revamped and reintroduced the famed “Hero of Tatooine” quest. The quest utilizes brand new static and dynamic content. Find the hero and see if you have what it takes to acquire the Marks of Altruism, Intellect, Courage, and Honor. For players who previously completed the quest, you will retain your badges and may complete the quests from where you left off or from the beginning. To start the quest, the player must first seek out and speak with the Hermit of Tatooine…

  • Have you attempted the Hero of Tatooine Quests?

  • What were your experiences?

Well, if this is the old hermit quest, I've tried talking with a few hermits onTatooineand they give crafting missions. These aren't the "hero" qests I was expecting. Maybe if you could give us some hints on where and how to find these quests, I could give you better comments on them unless you are intentionally hiding the quests to make them rare.

I love your naivity!

That exactly shows, that it isimpossible to find or even start the quests without reading the walkthroughs on the forum!

To hear people refer to this current installment of the Hero of Tatooine Quest as stressful and hard is somewhat humorous to those of us who spent (literally) months just getting one of these badges last fall. For those complaining about not getting hints as to where to start the quest -- phooey on you! This quest was placed in the game at launch without notice to the players so that they could eventually stumble across it and have a big surprise waiting for them when they spoke to this mysterious hermit. I love that sort of content, and wish there was more of it! The Devs shouldn't have to spoon-feed us everything...I think the player base has gotten way too used to that. It's sad to think that some players would rather have "Here is the Hermit" appear in their POI tab than to actually have to go out and search for him. Although it can definitely be tedious at times, this quest makes an attempt to reintroduce adventure and discovery back into this game, and I applaud the Devs for it.

I have to agree here. This is currently the most Epic quest in the game. Many of us believed that this was the path to becoming a Jedi way back then.

This should be Epic. It should be something that is a long term goal for a player. Bearing any of the Marks truely is an accomplishment. Having the Mark of the Hero should be significant.

As for begining the quest: Any person finding the squill cave will of course find the Hermit. His instructions are vague, as they should be.

As for camping waypoints: Many of the players that have complained about the dificulty locating the spawns speak as if they spend hours working a couple of spots. I found each of these (except for Intelect) outside the area of the current waypoints posted. I would reccomend expanding your search area.

During the fall, I was a Master Ranger. I originaly found out about the quests because I was hired in character to help someone locate a Bounty Hunter. I helped someone locate this person, and later began the quests myself attaining the Mark of Intelect after a month of searching. During the quest, I met many people. Many of these are still very good friends in the game. I remember many nights sitting in the Tatooine desert telling stories in a camp with people who would wander in. All of us with the same goal, sharing our stories and experiences. It was through this interaction that we learned the trials that the Hermit had set before us.

In this case, it was the journey that gave value to the Badge. I would hate to see that change.

Now I have no tracking ability, and have been able to complete the entire series in less than 12 hours of play. I know that my experience last fall added to my skill in covering area's methodicaly. I also know that the fact that I don't have to walk...did speed things up as well.

I beleive there is more than enough information out there to point everyone in the right direction. When you have searched the desert for an hour and feel frustrated, remember what an Epic event you are participating in.

You can stop NOW to argue with "I was doing this and i was doing that and i had no this and i had no that...".
I am in game since beta and i did the hermit quests before and i was walking by foot and i was everything what you were and where you were!!!

The new hermit quests and almost all other quests in general are not well designed!
If you do not see this, your problem!
I want to get hard but fun quests, where i can use my brain and not only drive through the galxy over and over again!

Read the topics, i linked above and maybe you will get the picture. But to be honest, i do not believe, that you and the kind of you ever will get the picture....

no it's not

And as long as you get the "Mark" in the personal section of ur character sheet, you don't need to have the item in ur inventory.

Well, i think.

Because i had the Intellect prior to this patch and so i didn't have the 4th item when i came back to see the hermit and get my mark of hero and it worked just fine for me

Honor currently seems like old school Altruism where it was all based on luck. Killing lairs/npc & creat spawns to make it spawn is NOT fun imo.

personally i'd rather it randomly spawn than be forced to KILL spawns to make it spawn.

Well I was very excited to hear that these quests were being redone, I'd missed them the 1st time around but there they were in the background... Now that I have reached the profession 'template' I wanted, these quests would prove a good time filler before publish 10 and on towards JTLS.

However....... after a few days of camping for the badge of intellect, I'm far from convinced this was the right way to revamp them (or at least this one). The challenge, for me, is in doing, not sitting on my backside waiting for a spawn. No one I know or have spoken to has seen the bounty hunter(s) on Chimaera since Tuesday to my knowledge and I certainly know of more than a few people who have submitted csr tickets (rightly or wrongly it demonstrates a level of unhapiness). I wonder if this is bugged somehow or if it's just the nature of how these quests have been devised (i.e. supposed to be hard due to time scales etc)? I dunno.

Of the others I have completed the badge of courage and spent an afternoon looking for the pirates to get the badge of honour (no luck yet). This I don't mind so much because at least you are occupied doing an area search and killing Valarian's people (hehe).

Regards, Keiras.
