So basically...the everyone becoming a Rifleman/CM Hybrid is going to continue...
People don't think they need nerfed, but other professions need balancing factors, right now what reason is there to be anything except one of those to be truly effective in PvP?
You don't find it wrong that single classes can completely dominate and destroy those which require more SP for sole Combat Purposes? (Commando, BH...) Since Combat Revamp has been delayed, everyone is going to continue to flock to the only working professions. (CM has some outstanding issues/bugs however)
That could create even more problems...I don't think Rifleman/CM need nerfed, but with Mind Damage as it is, creatures the way they are, AP/AR the way it is...why be anything but a Rifleman? Other classes need balancing, and fixing -- being brought up-to-par.
The Combat Revamp is more important than Jedi, more important than the GCW, more important than Droid Engineers, more important that Smugglers -- it's the binding factor in this game. Without combat there is no GCW, without combat there are no hides/meats to gather, without combat their is only crafting.
why bother fixing something so many of us have given up on?
I'm sure the dev's could work out the percentages and all the combat rebalancing, reprogramming and overall just re-engineering will affect what, 1-2% of the gaming population?
Face it, nobody does PvP so the fixes that must take place are where PvP is required, i.e. Jedi vs BH.
CM does need a good nerf, I don't think the dev's intended CM to be a leading attacker in PvP, as the name suggests, its a support type character. Support characters should not possess more power than anyone else in the game. Apply the same nerf to disease and poison DOT as was applied to Bleed. Right now if you whack a bleed on something and the initial hit is 1200 damage, the ticks are 120. So make it if the disease hits for 400, the ticks are 40. This will balance out CM to still be quite powerful but put it back in the support role.
Rifle works great, problem is that its not broken. It seems that the current balance system requires each profession to be broken to a certain extent. And tha fact is, rifle is just not broken (or broken enough - glass half full or half empty?).
Comandos have81 skill pts to spend after master putting them in an amazing position to master pistol, tka, fencer or better yet, rifleman. If you're going comando, your template should be all about fighting, therefore use your master in marksman to keep going or use your col in brawler to master hand to hand combat.
BH has one goal, to take down one target at a time. I was BH 3/4/4/4 and no, it was not as powerful as I expected. BUT, with a buff and the right situation, I could take anything down I wanted. This is what I expected out of it. If the LLC hit a little more often I would have been happier. But by spending the rest of my points in Carbine I found that I was one heck of a one on one killer in PvP no matter who I was shooting at.

This is a thread on "Is George Lucas Tired of Star Wars?"
It may enlighten many on why SOE has had a pretty much free hand "butchering" the Star Wars Universe. This is not the immersive game I was told to expect in the advertizements.
Giving DE some real love would go a long way to steering SWG back down the SF, rather than Fantasy path.
So what WILL DEs get with P8? What is listed on the publish notes is not even worth mention. What's the rest of the story? Out coorespondent won't say.
Uhm theres nothing I see there but people talking about him talking about being tired. You got a link to lucas himself??

Tracking of ALL Jedi is impossible 'target is offline' yet they are online in buddylist and you can /tell them.
Adding to buddy list reveals they log on and off MANY times. (every 15mins) for just 20secs then log back on.
Bounty Hunter Missions
-------------------------
Too many Bounty Hunter on each mission, perhaps limit the amount of BHs that can accept the mission, depending on the Jedi's level. Initiate - 3 BH, Padawan - 5, knight - 6, guardian - 7, master - no limit.
Armor holes are becoming more noticeable, or more hit in combat.
Jedi AFK Levelling in unreachable areas - What can be done ?
The Jedi might have a MBH for first and so they check the terms now and then to see if they did hit the terminals. I do.
The weaponsmith toolkit uses the backpack slot. For most crafters this would be a problem, so why pick on the weaponsmiths? Other crafters get aprons, we just want to be able to equip ours and still have our inventory. Currently we have to unload enough inventory, (as if our houses weren't also full), and unequip the backpack, then equip the bandolier and try to craft from all the resources now on the floor or in a floating container. This is one 'carpal-tunnel'-ly speaking irritating procedure.
I like very much the look of the WS toolkit bandolier. Regular bandoliers also are never wornbecause of the backpack slot, which is a shame. They add a good look to the SW universe. Could you make a bandolier slot? Some WS's are simply asking to make the WS toolkit a size 50 wearable conainter but they are not thinking of the decay issue. Backpacks do not decay because players would have a fit when their backpacks fell apart and their items were lost. And I guess you broke the slots so players would not have 4 invulnerable slot for SEA's. I'm not asking for a invulnerable WS toolkit, just a wearable one. Please make a new slot or move it to a nother slot like belt or something. The best slot would be the eye slot since it is useless even to Special Edition owners once they get armor (inventory is such premium for a player).
JamesHighwest wrote:Regarding vehicle/rider warping I have discovered a couple of things.
1.) Someone on these forums discovered the reason for rider "leaping". If you mount your vehicle while moving you WILL fly over the handle bars when you dismount. To avoid this just make sure you have stopped moving before you get on your ride. I have tested this and have had %100 success.
I have about a 50% success doing that (which is about the same if I mount while running). I have tried stopping, sitting down, standing, then mounting and still had a 50m leap. For me, it seems to happen only when covering large distances. That is, if I mount my speeder at the shuttleport, and go to the nearest cantina, I never jump. If I travel about 1k away, I almost always jump. What I usually do to stop jumping is turn the vehicle around a few times, then dismount. Another thing I have gotten in the habit of is pointing the vehicle at tree/house/rock...something to break my fall.
but TH.... when you die/clone, the effects of the food buff go away!
by the reasoning that you are relaying to us from the dev's, we have a Double-Standard here. Doctor buff's can immediatly be applied after cloning. There is no doctor buff "stomach" that prevents that. Yet we have a stomach that prevents food buff's because "people could die and get rebuffed".
Something is not adding up here.
TH, when are the following bugs introduced in publish 6 going to be fixed:
1. Mounts no longer autofollow their masters
2. Mount HAM bars do not update when they're stimmed or do their tricks
3. Creatures and droids spawning when called at a distance of 0 meters; multiple creatures spawning on exactly the same place.
Reminders
Power Droids still require batteries!
Droid Armour stll not usefull
Cannot color droids during crafting
The Combat Revamp has been delayed (sorry).
Please elaborate why. I have been waiting for thins... So have many others!
I would also like to see Entertainers have more use out in the battlefield (other than in camps). Possibly allowing their music or dance to effect the minds of NPC's.

My point is people spend SP on Commando to BE a Commando. Not to dabble.
And Eclipse BH have found the best template...Master Rifleman, and Investigation IV. They kill Jedi's much easier than any MBH ever can. In the days of Eclipse Armor getting up to 70% base, and 80-85% specialty...anything not mind damaging stun based will not work in PvP. (except poisons/disease)

Why did you spend months telling us the Combat Revamp would solve everything then post it as coming in Publish 8 as a Friday Feature only to have it delayed? did revamping Jedi take that much time? don't say you had to "balance" it because we know that's a lie.
Its been said over and over why combat was delayed. Read the state of the game letter from just-g or read last weeks round table. (theres a link at the top). Reason for delay is due to the fiasco that almost was the crafting revamp. They want to make sure that combat revamp is in its best possible form. Now don't go spoutin off about them releasing things early before. They learned their lesson and fixing the way they do that (in most cases). Keep yourself updated before you run around assuming someone is lieing!!!
I know about Just Gs letter I read the Dev Tracker every day while I’m playing (I log in and Alt Tab out to read the website because this game can be so boring) but he never explained why it got delayed, he never explained why Thunderheart was given permission to put it in a Friday feature 2 or 3 weeks before G wrote the letter. If it's because of the crafting changes then why don't the Devs put it onto Test Centre and let us see what needs balancing? They put the new HAM system on Test Centre in January so why not do it again?
Please see above ^^ Mine and atekke's on going discussion.
