Changing the Shuttle Concept all together?


Why not model the inside of the Shuttle as well, and when you bought the ticket and boarded the shuttle, you will sit inside with the other people waiting for liftoff. Depending on how far the planet is, the shuttleride takes a specific amount of time - people who have different destinations and closer destinations will receive a message that theyve arrived and the map loads for them, however their fellow passenger sees the person just disappear. The passenger who has arrived at the destination will have to walk himself out of the shuttle, and wont just popup in the shuttleport.

Covert time of 60 seconds will initiate the moment you disembark from the shuttle, but while remaining inside the shuttle it will be 120 ( to prevent loadkills of people with slower pc's,). Nobody without a ticket will be able to enter the shuttle.


Shuttle departure times can be much shorter, however you will have shuttle flying times, and you can smalltalk during the ride.

Now that's really odd. Our PA was just talking about this the other day.


PA: Stand outside any PA hall and look above the door. What do you see? A huge "empty" square. I seem to remember back in Beta days that there was a plan for every PA to design their own logo and upload into the PA hall. From that point onwards every PA Hall had their insignia, every member of the PA had their logo on their armour and flags could be planted with it on. We're desperately finding reasons to "be" a PA and act as units (other than skirmishes and raids). If this could be implemented with small logos of medium resolution and have that ability on vehicles and ships too then it would go part way to transforming the community.


GCW: We've been saving for a while now for the expectant arrival of the largest base - Strategic. It would be great if you guys could actually finish implementing this.


Cities: Walls. PLEASE can we have some city walls? Even make them decay over time? Another idea is to allow certain smaller areas (strategically important ones) to be encircled and to allow a portculis building or gatehouse. That way a city can generate extra income by charging a toll to enter. I sincerely hope you have plans to allow spaceports in Player Cities as well.


Play mining: How about allowing us to mine out caves and parts of the land and allow us to make them active as buildings (even GCW ones) or bases the larger the caves get? Other players could infiltrate those bases as well or even tunnel into the back of them but to create such a mine/cave would have limits and would take many weeks to finish and equip. If the rebels did this on Hoth then surely it would add to the general SW feel of the game.


Bases: When a base or city is under attack, put a militia alarm into the game so they are all alerted when it happens.

Post-offices
---
Package delivery - right now theres now way to get an item to someone besides dropping items off at vendors.

What i would like to see is post offices in NPC cities or as small booths in player cities.
It works by you select the item you want to send, you select your recipient and you pay the fee.

Theres3 ways it works.
1) a small one for local delivery - the recipient has to pick up the item at the exact same office the item was delivered at.

2) a planet wide delivery - the recipient has to pick up the item atand same office on the same planet.

3) a galaxy wide delivery - the recipient can pick up the item at any office anywhere in the galaxy.


Now it would make sense also to implement the ability to make sales through this system - but either make that available only to merchants, or give them reduced fees or higher item limit.


This can work in conjunction with the merchant profession, and provide everyone with a good feature... and fill a potential big black hole that will occur, when you need to keep your skills to keep your vendors.




Moving company

How come we got spacetravel, but there isnt a single moving company in the galaxy?

Fact of the matter is this game has far too many delivery missions, and if you decide you want to move to somewhere else, youre forced into quite a few dull delivery missions just to move all your stuff.

Depending on whats possible within the limits of the game system id propose either of these two things:

1) The ability to move a house and all items in it... mark your house as up for moving and you get a special deed that lets you place the building somewhere else.

2) Moving boxes... tailor made, moving boxes, these special boxes with high ressource requirements gives you the ability to fit in 20 items without taking up more than 1 inventory space.

- You can only put things in the container while in a player-owned structure.

- You have to seal it- you cannot add any more items to the box after youve sealed it.

- It can only be unpacked within a player-owned structure

-When unpacked the box dissolves, leaving only the content left

- The box have a limited life span to prevent people from using them as permanent storage.

A complete revamp of IMP v REB First part make rank mean something. I.E. Empierials should be getting payed!!!! They are high ranking officials of the empire yet?? they get nothing and PAY full price for shuttling not very empireish. Oh i play a rebel so no favortisim!!! Im not taling a large amount im saying for example a warrant officer gets 100000 a month as long as he maintains his rank and so and so forth higher rank higher pay. Also no Imp should have to pay full price for shuttles and insurance. For the Rebels they should get a little something for thier ranks as well say half of thier imp counterpart since the rebublic is very strapped for cash.



Combat High ranking Imps shoudl have the ability to call in reinforcements!!! I mean how cool would it be if a imp officer called down a starship loaded with troopers to help take down your bases while defending !! Now thats starwarsy!! ALL Imps get a offensive bonus wehn grouped based off group leaders imp rank and ALL Rebs get a defensive bonus based on aforementioned system!! Another one once u are an Officer in the Empire you shold be OVERT !!! ALL the time You are an Proud officer in the service of the empire you should be proud!! give rebels the jedi tef system in a way we are underground gorilla warfare specialists!! if we attack a imp we should be made overt as we will surley be reported!!! Gets rid of TEf'ing since as soon as u openly fire on a imp u go overt and allows rebels to use some hit and run tactics

Bases Reb bases should be very hardend IE ore turrets more npc's gaurding them and imp bases should have less but higher powerd IE better weaponry (more atst) and such. These jsut a few ideas make what you will of em!

Hi just a few things.


Vechicles - We need a new Profession like vechicle machanic to make and modify land vechicles, this could bring in a new line of transport and combat.


New Vechicles: Flash speeder - Combat speeder, two seats (i.e. two people can get in), Heavy blaster - like Jump to light speed one person drives the other fires


Skiff - used to transport 4-6 players or npcs one person would drive the others could attack from it. (this would add new npcs to attack and also new modes of transport across terrain)


Upgrades: Speeder bike - upgrade with light blaster to make into militery speeder bike (like what is used in Return of the jedi)


Pistols can be used on swoops (again new npcs - swoopers on swoops for example)


Two people can get in a landspeeder. second person can use a ranged weapon


Next thing on the list would be sub-factions and new theme parks or revamp theme parks


Sub-factions - Gungan


Trade federation


Hutt


Nightsisters


Singing Mountian Clan


Valerians


These sub-factions could be the same as imp and reb get points and spend them to get rare things like Battle droid schematic. Plus you can only have two sub-factions but some cancel each other out likeIf you join Imp you can not join Rebwhile being an Imp.

NPCs: KIDS!Nothing more that adults in the game!Remember episode1?Mos Eisley was full of kids playing in the alleys...


Graphics:Its unrealistic even for alien planets to have sunshine and 1 minute later have it raining for 30 seconds only to be followed by pitch darkness!

More armor!Eveyrone looks like composite-clones!The change color option is a good step but we really need new armor!


Droid Engineers: Pit Droids!!!They can have charges much like seeker droids and they'll repair the speeders!In an alternate universe that everything in the game takes advantage of the cool things we see in the movies we can have funny animations while repair with Pit Droids punching each other...(yeah,if ever...)


Politicians:They can be given ability to change names(the original name could be reserved for some time so when you send a /tell to Kooki and he has changed his name to Dubo you can have a message saying "Kooki has been renamed to Dubo").Also Politicians could sell,donate AP.If lets say a dancer has her cantina in the politician's city she is something like a "Public Worker" and she can get "paid" AP.AP could also be bought from the Politician much like FP from Smugglers.

Dancers:Tipping can be hard specially for new players choosing to follow dancing,specially if you are a male Doshan.Instead,as a motive,public cantinas can "pay" the dancers much like a paycheck. The lonelier the cantina the more the pay,lets say a cantina in Talus would pay more than an over crowded in Coronet so this could motivate dancers to actually visit the Talus cantina.What if they AFKing for 20 hours?I dont mind! Thats not unfair!If they like to actually NOT play and just be AFK thats their way of gaming.


Image Designers:New HoloEmotes suck...Also they should use some kind of resources,equipment and itemslike RL cosmetics.Mirrors,scissors,creams,gels,dyes...I don't know these stuff,but you know what I mean,right? These could also add to the Artisan Schematic list and they can make something more usefull that Namoidian Bird Cages...


Bounty Hunters:You are a newbie trying to lever brawler hitting Nuna lairs.Out of nowhere an UberBuffed armored tank runs by kiting your 300 unarmed XP giving lair with his LLC...Above that he starts laughing in your face and says that if you have a problem with that,duel him!If you tell him you'll report him to DEVS he's only accusing you of not understanding the RolePlaying concept...What is more satisfying than been able to put a bounty on the guy?Let HIM try to understand the ROle Playing concept! Player Bounties are a MUST and I think they'll eventually happen!

A couple of small simple suggestions to make the world more alive;


1) Have factions send out mass e-mails to their members every now and then, with bulletins, latest war news, etc. Strictly a roleplaying device, but very easy to do at your end I'm guessing.


2) Destroy and delivery missions: instead of having the targets in these missions always out in the middle of nowhere, how about starting to make them spawn in cities. Sitting in bars, standing in a starport, walking in a park, etc. It'd give players the need to travel tothe less populatedcities in order to get their targets, as well as bring the worlds alive to see NPCs starting to populate places that are usually empty. Imagine how cool it'd be to take a Valerian mission to whack one of Jabba's guys, and have to go into the cantina and find him sitting in the corner, instead of 2k out of town in the desert.


3) Background music


4) I'd agree with the other posts that even just the occasional cut scene would be great. The example I'd use would be in Planetside when the transport ships took off, and you'd follow them out of the port and up into the sky, not only did it set the scene nicely, but it was great looking down from so high up and seeing all the people below.

I'd be happy to see more information in the "examine" window.

Examples:

While examining Nym's guard you can read after scrolling down about organization history, it's description, not only armor parameters of particular target.

While examining E11 rifle you can read a bit about this weapon type history, where it was produced what military forces use this weapon etc...

Bounty Hunter Armor: I have a couple thoughts, If its Bounty hunter armor then why can everyone who finds some can wear it. This should fall under the mandalorian certification as Master BH, Commando, Ranger and SL only. The other is, seeing how this armor is already in the game now, make it customizable by armorsmiths. Let them be able to repair it without failure with high level resources, and let the colors be changeable. The reason for this is not everyone wants to be a boba or jango look alike, I personally dont. I have a full set of BH armor and want to keep it that way, its really a no brainer, this armor just doesnt have to be a base component for the mandalorian and you get two new armors in the game this way.
