Imperial Crackdown=Rebel fp farm

The few ST's cruising the Bestine Cantina were quickly and handily dispatched by the same rotating set of Rebel Holo Grinders that have been there for the past eon. Enter ST scanner - meet rebel Dancer/TKAs - wait 5 minutes - repeat.

I'm not impressed by the "crackdown". I'm also amazed about the Rebels that are complaining that this forces them into PvP! While in my couple hours I didn't see any PvP, I can't imagine that anyone'd be surprised by the TEF vs. Overts! Don't carry contraband, or don't go to places where you'll get scanned! Yeesh.

Very Fun! Although did seem like a rebel fp farm to me a bit... also, love the no decay, it made it feel like starwars when there were tons of imps attacking cornet (and I defending ). I was only a little concerned about the frame rates, which seemed to be a problem (I got db'd cause of lag from a person who definetly shouldn't have been able to kill me). other then a few minor complaints, was very fun ty

Was rather underwhelmed by Bestine. Woopie, 2 distant, static Star Destroyers in the sky and a couple groups of Storm Troopers walking around.... yea.

I was expecting a fleet of SD's in the sky, a garrison of ST's walking around, hordes of officers, AT-ST's (more than 4-5) guarding the perimeters and a couple AT-AT's for good measure.

THATS what I call a crackdown. This looks like authorized leave holiday.

I don't like PvP. It's just not my thing. I'm not good at it and probably never will be. To prepare for this change, I bought all unsliced weapons and armor. As a covert rebel, I don't want to be forced to fight.

There are 2 sides to this.

1- Rebel - Alot of covert rebels do not like to be forced into fighting. You are a rebel none the less. If you do not want to be forced into fighting, dont carry contraband. Its that simple.

2- Imperial - Imperials see this as a faction farm for rebels. You guys have had the abilty to carry AT/ST's. How many faction points have those got you? I have seen AT/ST's take out 30 rebels before it was destroyed. You guys have had a faction farm every since I have been playing. Its our turn now.

The patch is in place. We all have to deal with it.

I'm a Rebel, and I have to say that thus far, I'm actually disappointed in the weakness of the Crackdown. Others have already said it, but when the Stormtroopers perform their "Shakedown" in the Cantinas, they're often taken out pretty easily by the rebels there. It's going to turn into an FP Farm for the Rebels, and an FP Farm for Overt Imperials that prey on any Rebels that get TEFs from killing the Stormtroopers. Cantinas will soon be an all-outcombat zone, and not a social zone...that will probably drastically hamper the entertainer professions and the image of the Cantina as the best place to go for BF and mindhealing.

Anyway, I think the idea of a "Shakedown" in the Cantina is great - but the ST's need to be more formidable. Give a reason for a Master of a combat profession NOT to shoot, swing their weapon,or throw a punch. Make them much harder to kill so that us Rebels really have to *think* about revealing ourselves and entering a fight, or drastically increase the number of ST's there to make it harder.

Furthermore, I thought I had read in a post in the past from TH that Bestine, Theed, and Coronet would also be included in the cities where "Crackdowns" (scanning of contraband) would occur. Obviously, that's now not the case, or I simply misread, because there seems to be a 0% increase in Imperial NPCs in any of those cities - all of which I've been running around in just HOPING to get stopped and scanned! Been waiting all day to experience that...guess I'll have to go to Mos Espa, Kor Vella, or Kadarra (sp?) to experience those...

Anyway, apparently the Emperor only wants to restrict certain cities - thought this was going to cover the entire galaxy. I think the community should make it known that more NPC cities need to be involved in the Crackdown, especially the three (and often most popular) planetary capitols: Coronet, Theed, and Bestine.

Bottom line: Strengthen the Crackdown! That's the only way to make this game really feel like it is Star Wars!

Yeah, the stormtroopers are pretty lame in the cantinas from what I've seen. I wouldn't want to run into them in the wildnerness on my own, but in a cantina where you're surrounded by rebels, you don't have much to fear. It's not much of a crackdown really. More of an Imperial Irritation. I have to say now I'm even more disappointed at the devs because for all of THIS they sold out an entire profession. I hope it was worth it to 'em. It sure doesn't seem worth it to me.

When is the Imp Crackdown patch?

The main problem is that the crackdown troopers are the plain vanilla types found everywhere else. These crackdown troops should have high resists to all and a 1 shot incap weapon, or 2 shot at most. Devs, make people scared to take them on, not make them laugh. The crackdown has been a disappointment so far.

Update on your Imperial Breakdown:

Chilastra's Kor'valla Rebel Campground (read: Starport) is now lagged beyond all conceivable forms of logic. There is NO LESS than 120-240 seconds of lag when attempting to perform ANY routine (chat, ui commands, combat commands, etc.). To make matters worse, I am now stuck in a Blue Screen of Death loop and cannot even load my client, as the sheer attempt to bring my character to life in that hell-hole renders sheer panic in my machine's CPU. I have had two Blue Screens of Death from the day I built this machine, and BOTH of them were tonight.

Bravo guys. Absolutly brilliant.
