Once a player has purchased at least 24 or more skill boxes of Force Sensitivity Skills they may undergo the Padawan Trials.

What does this mean??? Purchased??

Anymore info available on this?

Ok maybe its that I didn't get enough sleep last night but I'm still confused about something.......

The way it reads is, if you're currently holo-grinding and what your 2nd slot to be your Jedi without having to regrind the force quests, then you will have to open before Publisj 9 goes live. Is this correct TH. If so you're going to have many angry holo-grinders.

Just one question.

Will sabers still do kinetic damage?

There is no mention of the saber damage type in this at all.

I am no star wars expert, but don't the trials come before you become a jedi knight? (hint: yes they do ). Continuity? What continuity

Ah, but those were under the rules of the old Jedi Council before the fall of the Old Republic. The Jedi are all but extinct and remaining Jedi and Force sensitive characters can create and adhere to their own standards for survival. Thus the Devs can tweak it to their liking. The new system sounds and looks great. I know it will feel even better.

ok first all that stuff is cool but im very disapointed that jedi are getting more more work the the rest of the game and professions like those that are still very broken SQ,BH,Ranger... and all the other ones... and the GCW should be put before jedi... any comments TH, Q?

TH already did comment on this, the just of it was:

Hologrinding has ruined the game and the GCW, therefore the Jedi changes HAD to come before they did the GCW update otherwise the entire effort would be useless. They want the drastic changes everyone is making to their characters causing all the inbalances to go away before balancing everything else.

This is correct

What will happen to my existing lightsabers?
When the Publish goes live, these lightsabers will not be able to be equipped anymore. Existing Jedi with lightsabers will have the option to "break down" their existing lightsabers into their un-tuned components. They may then re-tune these components to their new lightsabers. The values may appear lower but we are maintaining the level of lightsaber power behind the scenes. These power levels will then be adjusted again accordingly when the combat balance is pushed to servers.

One question, if I "break down" my 5th gen saber will I get one crystal/pearl back or all four that were used.

It sounds like we will get all back but it does not say for sure

I must say.... I am happy with this.... You guys seem to have come up with a VERY good idea!

I have 1 little question about the conversion though (See my sig )

Do we(I) get more credit for finishing the Holo path, or just credit per profession gained? (Makes a difference to how I progress for the next few weeks )

Once again, THANK YOU!

Well, unfortunately one of my own questions were answered :/

"Crystals will also provide much nicer stats depending on the level of NPC they come from"

TH, the question to pose on this then is, you're not decaying sabers, but you're going to decay the crystals? So, if the crystals are decaying, that keeps us with the same problems unless the decay rates on the crystals are going to be dramatically different. Maybe I'm reading that incorrectly, and if I am, let me know.

My God you guys have actually designed it the way everyone has been asking for and aspiring to. I'm impressed with how much SOE has improved over this year in design and release management of hotfixes and patches. Well done -- keep it up!!! /salute

TH and Arjun I am going to put a big post up really soon about all this and while I am a nobody I hope one of you reads it....basically it is all going to be positive with some non-whining questions.

But the first two things I noticed...

1.) What damage type for sabers?

2.) And what of the characters that have unlocked Jedi (our second slot open), are our mains to be given credit for the professions we mastered (which would be all) and thus have a choice of force sensitivity between either character or is our second it? Or does our main start over like our secondary would if we unlocked in the new system. EIther way is perfectly fine by me, it is not a complaint or precursor to complaint, just a curiousity.

More to come seriously...I have never been more excited about this game then right now.

If you're permanently overt then Dark Jedi will be in for a hard time.
