Thread: Publish 8.1: Image Designer Issues
Ick! Even if they increased the xp gain tenfold, it would STILL take too long! Suddenly I am glad that I'm "only" grinding ID so that I can play the mando. I feel for the future Image Designers.

If I use purely cosmetic changes to advance at 100 xp per chage, I have to make 3,610 ACTUAL individual changes to others? (From what I've read, offering what they already have doesn't give xp, and xp doesn't stack). Or twice that much, 7,220 changes if I practice on myself? Either way, it's a time sink. With 3,610 changes, with the 2 minute timer, it's 7,220 minutes or 120 hours and 20 minutes; and with 7,220 changes to myself with the same timer, it's 240 hours and 40 minutes!!
What if I went with physical changes to master this profession? Now I get 300 xp per change but with a five minute timer. So, I would have to make 1,204 changes to others or 2,408 changes to myself. Again there is the huge time sink. At five minutes each, it comes to 6,020 minutes or 100 hours and 20 minutes. Double that if I'm working on myself to 200 hours and 40 minutes.
Bugs (some have possibly been mentioned before):
- Some holo-emotes do not appear for the person. A wookiee client of mine cannot see kitty
- Zabraks need hair before the session for an ID to be able to change the colour
- Image Designer cannot be Image Designed by someone else while he/she is IDing his/her client
- Unexplained UI closures
- "Revert" does not return selection to original colours (eg. if the original hair colour wasred and you select green and click "revert" the small box stays on green) - makes it impossible to know original colours
- No need for male torso slider (messes with muscles)
- Need a way to zoom in and out as an ID
- Clothes changes should be shown in UI
- Palettes far too tiny - need a way to increase size
- Some clients have been requesting to see all the holoemotes. Perhaps a preview of each within the UI?
What in the world is going on atm... Im finished changing the image of others within the first 10 sec's.. Having to wait the whole 2 min every time to make 100 xp .. well it just blows. I cant say how disapointed I am with all that crap.
I see it this way.. Why do I have to look at this silly palete for 1min and 50 sec more than I have to? Yea Im done changing that image but no no .. 59 sec .. 58 sec .. 57 sec
They are killing a nice profession is all Im saying =)
Before someone throws dirt on my statement I just want to say.. Im no AFK-macro-grinder kind of type Im behind the puter all the way. I see the change as a herrasment to any ID's out there having to live with a freakin timer. No other class has a downer like that on their a$$.
--------------------------------------------
Im not angry.. Im just plain disapointed!
WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY?
What does the timer do except make ppl more and more angry? "It slows down grinders." Well, nerf the xp and ditch the timer. C'mon guys, think. I know it's kinda tough to predict ppls reactions to changes, but if everyone and their dog is already complaining about shuttle waits do you really think you're gonna get a positive reaction to adding yet another gaping time sink to the game?
I agree with kilokat 100%.
Devs, you've done some great things with this game in the few months I've been playing. I've seen a lot of good enhancements. This publish was poorly planned and implemented. Are you guys that far removed from the player base? Isn't this stuff what correspondents are for? Use them, that's what they're there for!
I'm sorry, but I'll be eyeing future publishes and patches with great suspicion and fear. And I'm not too happy about that.
Oh, and the auto-retrieve item from vendors works sporadically at best - i've purchased about 30 items since that was "added" and it's worked twice - and I've always, always, always had plenty of room in my inventory to retrieve the stuff. Twice?! Yeesh - that function is about as useful as a chocolate fireguard right about now. It's a great idea, but again, poorly implemented.
Here's some testing procedures for your programmers, because obviously they didn't really do any. It's amazingly simple, really it is:
1. Purchase item off of a vendor. This can be anything made in 2 seconds, like a Chance Cube.
2. Did the item auto-retrieve?
2a. Yes - good job, keep testing with other items.
2b. No - back to the drawing board until it auto-retrieves.
3. Repeat until results are predictable (i.e. the stupid thing actually auto-retrieves).
There ya go.Now...why wasn't that done before this was implemented? 2auto-retrieves out of 30 items shows that it wasn't. Can anyone verify this function works randomly at best?
