Wow...
You guys want some cheese with that whine?
Its a game FFS..
Sure you pay for it, sure you deserve respect. That I agree with.
But sure, it must take a HUGE amount of work just to run SWG and do everything thats going on with JTL etc.
Yeah, it would be nice to get a heads up on stuff like this, but then again, they said Approximately 3 weeks, not 3 Weeks to the second, by your poxy estimates of what day/time it was when you got the patch downloaded.
How about this... While waiting for Phase 2, Sod off and do somethiing else, like getting a semblance of a life in the meantime.

Right I read these forums nearly everyday and have been a player for around 8 months... However I have kept my mouth shut up to now but its time for me to have my say....
Why do SOE keep on making the same mistakes?? You know what we all want and yet you dont give it to us, we pay money to you which makes us your customers! and to be honestI just dont feel like one.
You firstly promised the holo grind will end and the path to jedi will be entirely quest based. What went wrong? All we have now isan either bigger grind! Now you seem to be even more slowing down our progress by the phase not switching.. I understand if its timer based but your sounding like, you need a few more days (more likely a week) because there are to many initates/padawans at the moment.
Also I wonder if anyone can answer me this, you say we need 24 skill boxes to become an initiate. Now then is this 6 trees or any 24 skill boxes from any discipline OR have you got another great little secret you want to keep from us (like with how many professions you need to master during the holo grind) like you actually need to master at least 1 of the discplines. The reason im thinking this is because the master box from them all does not actually give any bonuses/skills, so why then are they there...

The server resets the day after the cycle has ticked off. Again, the value can change based on village load. And the uptime can be affected by unexpected downtime (like maintenance, etc.).
So it really is approximately 3 weeks.
And it really will happen soon.
justG you made me and a lot of other people very happy. That is EXACTLY what we wanted to hear. Vague statements-piss us off. Exacts-cheer!
I'm sure a lot of people would be happy to hear something positive that doesn't concern Jedi. Don't you guys think enough time and resources has been thrown at this crap? It's ruining your game by the way. Exactly how long do you think people are going to continue to play this game once they either get bored of grinding Jedi or finish grinding it and realize the rest of this game is just as bad? Besides, most of the people that opposed Jedi in the first place have quit already. I held out for as long as I could but I finally cancelled my accounts today. I logged into the JTL Beta, saw just how shitty it was, and finally realized that this game reached the hopeless stage months ago. I know all this is just my opinion but some major issues would be resolved if you dropped all the Jedi stuff right now and started improving the actual game. (combat revamp, smuggler revamp, ect....)

As Thunderheart put it:
"A Jedi should know patience..."
WTH, so the devs only real focus IS jedi!!! =.=
WELL IF YOURE GONNA SPEND SO MUCH DAMNED TIME ON IT, FIX IT!

Great info!
Hint for devs in the future: Look at the responses in this thread. Most are positive just to get the information how it works. Learn from this and realize that exact information and not vague responses is much better and cause less speculation, rumours and angry customers.

thanks these figures are great for us to know exactly whats going on
but do you think you may missjudged the timer for instance just in the lastcouple of weeks kauri's downtime hasnotibally higher because of crashes and the tornado ect
just a question was unforseen extended downtime included in your calculations
as at least once a week its 3-4 hours on a server if there is no updates or patches ive seen it take less than a hour
this does not seem to me to be an accurate way to measure time between phases as if there is a week of problems it would put nearly a week on the ticker and more disgruntled customers because of delays and will see this a deliberate ploy to get more money out of us
im going to be playing wheather or not i make a jedi and the quest stuff is cool and adds another dimesion to game but even i thought 3 weeks was a bit long
i feel the lack of this kind of information in the first placeis what causes people to be upset with you
for instance if you had told the testers that the phase changes were on a timer and it would be affect by varying influences eg extended downtime then people would not be so upset now as thy would have known that due to the recent problems sufferd by the servers it would be a little longer
but also if week get a 3 week period which downtime is limited it could even work out less
i feel this has cleared up a lot of the issues reguarding phase shift and feel that certain bits of info may be better to be released while its in testing as i think everyone who was waiting for phase 2 would be contented to know where they stand as with other aspects of game for instance there is not a list of known bugs except in bug reporting threads now we all know there are some minor bugs that are around and helpfull guide to circumvent these bugs until each is fixed or a decent information to reguarding certain bugs your working on all the cloak and dagger stuff just upsets people
we dont want complete walkthroughs or you to tell us secrets to game what we want to know is what kind of bugs are being worked on so as a comunity we can report bugs to you more often as i know a lot of players that dont even /bug when one happens because they feel there is no point and it just ends up in a trash can on a dev Desk top not my view and i always try to /bug as it tell you whats happening with the game
and everyone should realise its not the devs or csr that are making the big money in this game its SONY

Thanks for answering our pleas. The answer at least gave us a clue. And perhaps a lesson was learned here. Communicate simple things like this ahead of time and save a lot of grief on all sides. And it would be a good idea to remove folks like Thunderheart from these forums since it appears that all he is capable of is inflaming players anger rather than addressing issues in a clear consise manner. And perhaps if you did eliminate the gating and allowed any branch quest to be done at any time overload at the village would not be an issue. But whenever phase two goes live it will be a horde of players doing one or two quests which may create some additional chaos. Not exactly a great plan.
