Thread: ID3 Vehicle Garage Placement
First, fix the bug that makes it so people don't need garages.
Right now if you leave your vehicle out and you travel to another planet, your vehicle is in tip-top shape again, even if it was disabled.
I tried to use the garage in Daeric about a month ago but it didn't work. No proximity message was displayed and there was no option to repair on my swoop radial. I /bugged that.
There are some good ideas here on the thread.
/fin gar should work to find a garage just like I can type /fin sta to find a starport.
garages shouldshow upon both planetary and city maps.
Bestine should have a garage.
Anchorhead's Tache Station (however it's spelled) should have a modifide one. Different from the regular ones like outpost starports are different from the biggies.
I like the friendly repair droids and NPCs fixing speeders out in the middle of nowhere idea.
Dantooine and Lok need some way to get repairs more than any other place needs a garage.
1) They aren't on the world map and aren't marked as such on the overhead map. You can usually spot them since they are the only large green square on the overhead map, but sometimes it can be very hard to pick them out if the surrounding buildings are also square-ish.
2) No garages on secondary buildable planets. It's got to be annoying to live in a large city on dantooine, for example, and have to travel to corellia EVERY time you need your vehicle repaired. That's wasted time and money that most people don't want or need. Having a couple of garages placed on Lok and Dantooine would solve a lot of complaints.

C'mon... it's a GARAGE, not a 5 star hotel. I live in a town in the US that's on the way to nowhere (dead-end area), that has only one gas station with a few groceries. We're so small, that we're not incpororated, don't have a police department, and have a volunteer fire department with one subsidized truck. But even here in BFE we have a garage / tire shop.
Anchorhead has a shuttle, a cantina / medical facility, a small cloning center, a Rebel presence (which would presumably have a motorpool), and a fair amount of traffic as the staging area for strikes against the Empire on Tatooine. Anchorhead should have a garage... Wayfar, maybe not (but isn't that where Luke was going to get power converters for his speeder?) It certainly has the players there to support it... I tend to see many many times more people in Anchorhead than I do in Mos Eisley or Mos Espa coming from off-planet.
We're talking a Jiffy Lube, not a Ford Motor Company manufacturing plant.
As for where to put 'em... just about anywhere, but as has been suggested, make them named items on the overhead map, make them searchable on the planetary map, and set them up for the /find function.
Lazarus Long
Simple, there should be one in every established city (let the players add them or not to their own cities.
The bigger issue is that people cant find them, as you can not locate them with a /find. Add garages to the /find menu and it will go a long way to solving this issue.

The garage is cluttered and worn, but a friendly peaceful atmosphere permeates the low
grey chamber. Threepio lowers himself into a large tub filled with warm oil. Near the
battered Landspeeder little Artoo rests on a large battery with a cord to his face.
There are two burning issues out there on garages:
1. What about Player Garages?
Player garages are in the works and will be in the game in either Publish 7 or Publish 8.
2. Where are the Vehicle Garages?
They are out there, but I went to the devs and said players need more garages, so the
question is now, “Where SHOULD there be garages, where there aren’t any?” So post and tell
me where you would like to see a vehicle garage. (These are not player garages, but
Planetary Cities).

there don't need to necesarrily be more... JUST PLEASE MARK THEM
OVERHEAD MAP = CTRL+M MAP
they are not marked in any way on theoverhead map... this makes them very hard to find!
and while you're at it... FACTION MISSION TERMINALS (for player cities) ARE NOT MARKED ON THE OVERHEAD MAP either
it's very very hard to find these too!
please put a name on the overhead map for them....
AND the /find command does not work for garages and player city faction mission terminals
THANKS ALOT!
you guys are really starting to fix things around here ![]()
