Using all available experimentation points on Force Cost, I was able to lower my 39 FC 2-hander to a staggering 38 Force Cost.

not only are there damage crystals with colour and dmg together, but you cannot use these crystals with a colour crystal. I had a few of these in my kit, and were unable to use those unless i took out the colour crystal and than could only use one of that tyoe.

You should of given us better crystals. I found a 43 damage one off a nightsister last night, and that was onlya 14k ham nightsister. We are going to go into this thinking 30 damage crystals are the high end, with the norm being below 10.


Still think we need a boost in damage, at least until the combat balance. Its getting better though.




Bah WoW is overrated, City of Heros rocks, or better yet get another sony game and you can get the ALL ACCESS PASS for one LOW LOW PRICE and play both games.

lightsaber damge really needs to be fixed. they know we're complaining. too many of us are shouting in their ears.


  • experimentation on lightsaber damage is by far weak. i spent all my experimentation points, only to go up in damage 4 points. WEAK
  • experimentation on lightsaber force cost is the only way to go, as damage experimentation blows. it only goes down 3 points (max). just add the -9 crystals, and you have yourself a nice fc saber. (wish i had -9 pearls on live)
  • is experimentation on the damage of the lightsaber supposed to be like this?

on TC2 i'm 0404 in sabers, so 7 experimentation points on a 3rd gen saber.
and i gotta tell you guys. i swung this 3.9 speed lightsaber slower than growing mollasses.


lootable items for lightsabers seem to really be what the devs want. they could at least meet us in the middle with this by making color crystals craftable and for giving jedi characters a 25% chance to loot a crystal.
as it stands now (on tc2), you have to kill hundreds upon hundreds of npcs to at least get one crystal. and chances are that one crystal will suck.
fun isn't camping a spot to find crystals (or waiting for your knight trials creature to spawn, if it ever does)
fun isn't spending 10 mins on a creature that you could normally kill in 10 seconds with current jedi.

The problem i had is with my forcecost. It starts at 14 and with one color/damage crystal goes down to 6. Then I add another damage crystal with -4 forcecost. It should go down to 2, but it goes down to 0. I then can't do any specials. What would be great, first off, is that it actually goes to 2, and secondly, a message appears alerting you to your 0 forcecost when specials aren't working.

saber construction went fine other than the lack of gas in my starter kit.


Damage on these sabers though are very low even with dmg crystals. Other than that no complaints

Ok, I made 3 4th gen sabers, 1 of each. I used refined pearl packs that were amazing successes...

Each saber was itself a good success.


4th Generation double bladed saber:

dmg: 234 -316

wound: 34%

Ok, I made 3 4th gen sabers, 1 of each. I used refined pearl packs that were amazing successes... power crystals used were all "poor" with values of -4 to -7 for most values, except for speed which was typical -.1 to -.2. The color crystal for eachwas also a power crystal. Each saber was itself a good success. The stats on the sabers werehardly better than the training sabers I made as an initiate under the old system.


4th Generation double bladed saber:


dmg: 234 -316

force power cost: 15



4th Generation 2 Handed Lightsaber

dmg: 195-279

Force special cost: 15


4th Generation Lightsaber

dmg: 180-256

Force cost: 53


While I do like the new paradigm for crafting sabers, the results themselves to need tweaking.

Crafted sabers with the two Jedi accounts I have on TC2, one has Master Saber, one has 0044 Saber. Both have the Experimentation FS skill.


On both Jedi, I made several sabers, trying to get a few "Amazing" rolls while experimenting. I was able to get three Amazings while experimenting on damage, but there was no difference in the amount of points able to be allocated compared to all "Great" Exp. rolls. No leftover points to put into HAM/FC cost regardless of the experimentation results. Tried the same experimenting on HAM/FC, same result.


End stats were also no different. Same result and stats every time.


Out of the 10 or so sabers I made between the two Jedi, I did not have any experimentation results other than Great or Amazing...no Good Successes, Successes, Moderate Successes or Failures.
