I have a few questions for the Jedi currently playing on the Test Center platforms:


1) What are the (non-crystal/pearl) ingredients for lightsabers in the new system? I mean are they exactly the same as the old setup and is shock resistance the only consideration as in pre-patch jedi? I would like some insight so I can start picking up any new required materials prior to the revamp.


2) Is there any significant advantage between the three lightsaber types in the new system? I don't want to go with a one-handed saber and later find out a different type is like twice as good with very little difference in speed or force cost utilizing specials. (NOTE: This question is mainly geared for people planning on only going 4004, 0404, or 0044 in the new lightsaber system)


3) Is there a significant advantage between the new damage crystals and old converted pearls? In other words, did they do a 180 and now damage crystals typically make better sabers as opposed to the current Krayt pearls or is that somethingthat can even be answered at this time?


4)Arethere any significant differences between characters who master the lightsaber tree and those who decide to go 4004, 0404, or 0044? Any examples to back up any remarks you can make regarding this question?

Force experimentation only affects your chances of getting amazing successes according to the description in the skill trees, it should not stack with experimentation in the way you suggest. Whether it works or not? Dunno

Despite the tooltip wording change, Devs at Fan Faire (multiples of them, including Dave) were quite plain that it was intended to give 2 experimentation points, to a theoretical cap of 14 (10 from profession, 2 from skilltapes, 2 from force sensitivity). What ever happened to THAT?

As well, from experimenting quite a bit, if it's supposed to be substantial increases in amazings, I'd have to say it's still broken anyway. six sabers, 10 points allocated by twos on each, no amazings at all. So 30 checks, no amazings, with a '+20' that substantially increases amazing chances? Bleh.

this is my suggestions;

1) pls make all crystals into pearls for the revamp

2) make colure crystals a craft item, certain resources and stats will gove a certain colure or something to that mater

3) if not all crystals can be made to pearls the at least make the twins to pearls EVEN IF NOT IN A SABER ( not all of us can make pole saber so to make twins into pearls would only be fair )

4) make it so when we tune the crystal, or twin crystal we have CHOICE of making it a colure or damage crystal


everyone i'v talked to agrees that we should be able to decide whether the crystals should be colure or damage
it will suck if all 20 of my twin crystals turn into colure crystals the only thing i 'll have for damage is what's in the crap saber i have now


thnx, i hope you devs can find a solution to this problem, i know many of us are keeping our fingers crossed

What many Jedis REALLY care about atm is this :



When the publish is released , you get the components of the lightsaber , but will be get back what we have put in ???

Some people say that the perls/crystal we will get back deppend on the stats of the saber , that would not be very fair because :


Someone has a saber : 4 bad crystals and 1 super good Kryat perl with 199 damage -9 force worth 12 million.


What i mean is , i want exacly bacl what i have put in the saber , and not 4 medium crystals worth nothing , this would be extremly UNFAIR !!!!


Also think about people that only have a 3rd or 4th Generation saber now , if the items you get back deppend on the saber stats , there people will get bad stuff back !!!

I also want to add , when someone has had 5x great succes in crafting , and someone else only 5x good or mederate , this also changes the stats , so please be sure that we get back the items we put in.

experimentation on lightsabers does NOT reduce the speed.


by putting all 10 points into efficiency i get to reduce the force cost by 2 :/

damage doesn't go up very much with all 10 points either.


no real reason to keep LS experimentation in if htat's all the better it is. LS masters will have very little difference in their lightsabers compared to novices. the only thing that sets them apart is the amount of crystals they can put in them.

Tonight I experimented with crafting lightsabers after the patch today bugged our crystals.


3rd generation saber worked with 1 color crystal with stats(able to do specials)

2nd gen saber same

1st gen witht he same color crystal with stats unable to do specials


adding any pre patch crystals to the sabers caused them to be used for specials.


These were polearm sabers.

Nah, you're wrong, I've seen it. Experimentation CAN reduce the speed, but not by much. Put everything into damage not efficiency, and if you're lucky the speed might get reduced by 0.1 or 0.2. Like I said, it CAN reduce it, but not by much... You have just as much odds of messing up making the speed go up by the same amount...


BTW, why is it that a lightsaber that has a weightless energy blade has a slower speed rating than almost all curved 2h swords?? and even some power hammers? blade with weight vs weightless blade?? I don't get it... heheheh, yeah just wanted to point that out. Jedi are known for their extreme speed and reflexes right? so why are they so slow? Only a lightsaber MASTER has enough speed mods to feel anywhere close to what you would expect...

I used resouces given on TC2 to create all three type of sabres as a master LS, what I found is that if you put all the points into dmg/speed, and get all great successes, you get about 10% improvement on dmg, and 5% improvement on speed from the original "great success" assembly, not a lot on a 250+ dmg 1H sabre (I think thats the final stats for my gen4 sabre). The last 1-2 points of experimentation doesnt add much to the dmg/speed at all (maybe add 0-2 dmg and no speed), only add to some wound chance from 42-44% or even less.


I hope to get some time to do more experiment on all generation sabres and report here again before end of the weekend.


By the way on TC2, the ham cost on light sabre doestn work, so there was no ham cost when using sabre, is this a bug or intended behavior?

LS damage stinks now! nice work DEVS.... jedi is usless now. still no melee defense and you wont tell us why and sabers do no damage.

Devs you need to make sure that we get back what we have put in the saber !!! and not some perls avarage damage from the saber.


1 saber : 3 bad crystals , 1 perl 180 damage -9 force worth 12 million


We will only get back 4 bad ones , this is UNFAIR and , guys you have to realise that we worked very hard to get good perls ....


Delay this patch and fix the bugs and make a fair LS deconstruction !

Right, this isn't another expansion pack so there's no reason not to delay it in order to get everything right. The only reason to push this forward before its ready would be if its holding up the space expansion. You can't argue against the boss's bottom line, but you can try. There's a whole lot of things not right and down right frustrating about how jedi are looking at the moment.


Lightsabers and crystals are a big one.
