Master Chef since launch....
I love the new art. I like the idea of different sized containers.(fix barrels soon please).
We still wont sell any HAM buffs because they can't compete with doctors. No one will pay forinferior product. Either crank up the HAM buffs or make the doctor buffs more expensive to make.(which would stick a fork in the eye of doctors)
This is the deathblow of chef. The hatsare cool, the apron is allright. Needing a BE to make 75% of food, not good. No display of the effect of each food, not good. The only way you could make a good living at this is to double as a BE. The forcing to destory schematics and supplies (many cases of alchohol) ,bad idea. It was a long grind to be a master chef and now it is mostly useless. Soon the food will be as rare as a peko-peko albatross.

How is the experimentation?
-Seems generously high on the lower end foods. Engineering and Domestic Artisan trees combine with novice chef for some top-level experimentation on all the foods I've tried so far. Admitedly, I can't make food past what novice chef gets.
What do you think of the new food items?
-Since I haven't been able to make food before this, I can't really say. Would like for the bonuses to be known before I assemble a food item though. I've been fillin gmy inventory with samplers of everything just to see what it does.
What are your feelings on the buff effects?
-LOVE THEM! They allow for lasting bonuses to areas of the game that few things touch. Lowered Incap time, burst run bonus, terrain neg bonus, pet only boosts, etc.. Great stuff. It puts chefs on an entirely different field of play instead of simply competing with doctors and spice.
I also really like the durations, makes everything involving food much easier and more worth the time involved to get/eat/carry it. Vast improvement.
What are your experiences with the new player stomachs?
-I like that its a more logical system than the mysterious one that was previously inplace. Though not certain if its working or not. My character has digested things way before their bonuses run out. Not sure what that means.
Did you notice the changes?
-Not really, for all that it makes more sense, it still looks to operate in the same manner (practically speaking)
What new food effects were you able to create?
-A drink that heals mind! Happy day! Damage reduction food (basically free armor), Terrain and Burst Run boosters, CH stuff like health boosts, masked scent, and Taming bonuses.
What are your feelings about the changes?
-As a frustrated medic, I'm drooling over mind pool healing.I've already taken steps towards getting crates of Aitha stuff into all my guildmate's hands. Gonna work with a BE or two to push it up even higher.
Did you experiment with the foods?
-Most Definatly, gotta push the limits afterall.
What experiments did you do? What was the outcome?
-I typically experiment for power and duration. On all the artisan foods, I had 10 experimentation points, but was unable to add serious changes to the food effects. A 30minute (base) caf went up to 45 minutes duration after I dropped 10 points (net 50% increase) of experimentation on it. Quantity of the stack also doesn't really change much. 10 pts should do more than add +1 to +2 to the stack size.
What were your food crafting experiences?
-Lots of failures, but a friend pointed out to me that 490 Battle fatigue was likely messing with it. I don't know. Crafting all the sub components is tedious, but a food factory relieves that problem. I'd like to know the approximate bonus a food provides before I craft it. Right now, gotta make everytyhing once and write down the results.
Bio Engineers: Have you experimented with the food additives?
What did your experiments yield?
-Two of my guildmates are beginning BEs. They've made me some sample additives to mess around with. The low-level stuff they passed to me didn't make a substantial difference. Nothing I couldn't get on my own with lucky experimentation. Considering the precious meat and other components they needed for some additives, the effort really wasn't worth it at a low level.
What containers were you able to make?
-Small and Large glasses are all I can make. The large glass doesn't seem to add much, especially for the 100 gemstones it needs (10x the small glass).
One final comment on this long post, meat is a perpetual problem. I refuse to spend skill points on scout and run slaughter missions just so my chef can get the meat and hide he needs. However, buying the stuff is expensive, unreliable, and annoying. Its also virtually impossible (for me) to get enough of one type of meat to produce a decent factory run of one food type. SWG needs ranches, pigs farms, or something. Being able to raise domesticate animals for slaughter would be a trip. Jedi Cowboys - LOL.
I had a problem with Kiwik Clusjo Swirl last night.
When I went to put in the ingredients, it called for Sweet Berries (Berries), Tart Berries (Berries), Fruit Filling (Fruit), and Water (Water). I tried to put Corellian Berries in the Sweet Berries, Tart Berries, and Fruit Filling slots, but was unable to put them in the Fruit Filling Slots. I was also unable to put Corellian Flower Fruit in the Fruit Filling Slot. It looks likea bug in the schematic.
