You always say that "In response to theyour request!" , "We've been listening to you!", and all that other BS. Can you hear us now? How long was it since you posted this TH? Up to 28 pages. It's not going away so do what we were told was going to happen.
We are the "Community" and I think it's clear what the "Community" wants so enough of the lies about it can't be done and the game can't determine this or it's a matter of............ NOBODY WANTS THESE EXCUSES ANYMORE!
The game can determine PvP or PvE kills. You don't lose faction when killed by enemy NPC's. That alone proves it. We can name other examples which many have. If it takes a lot of coding then get to work.
Could you imagine that excuse in other situations?
"My house is on fire please help!"
Fireman- "Well... that would take a lot of water." "Also we can't determine what is on fire and what isn't."
Dear SOE:
Please stop offering half solutions, incorrect information, excuses and nonsense answers and start listening to your customers and resolve the issues at hand.
One of YOUR employees went to YOUR official "communications" page for this game and posted information there. This information was incorrect and was followed by an excuse of "Well, I thought it was gonna be that way, but its not, sorry".
DO NOT ALLOW PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT 100% SURE OF INFORMATION TO COMMUNICATE TO YOUR CUSTOMERS. IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT DO NOT MAKE A POST THAT IS REPRESENTATIVE OF YOUR COMPANY AND YOUR DEVELOPERS. YOU HAVE GIVEN INCORRECT INFO TO PAYING CUSTOMERS, AFFECTING HOW THEY PLAYED IN PREPARATION FOR THIS CHANGE, AND NOW HAVE PULLED THE RUG OUT.
VERY POOR BUSINESS SOE. DESTROYING ANY FAITH THE PLAYERS HAVE IN YOU OR YOUR GAME IS A BAD THING IF YOU HAVE NOT NOTICED.
Indeed, listen to Jest3r on this one. He's given several very viable alternate solutions. He amongst many others in this thread have given some very constructive options. Search past the flames and find those ideas. And for the sake of PvP and the GCW implement one of them!

OMG!, Do you haveany idea how much decay costs the players in the long run, you want an alternative try....umm... NO DECAY! It is bad enough I have to pay thousands each time I die, but all of my expensive armor pieces have to decay as well, if you pay you should not have any decay!
