Hey I have an idea. Okay I see the following problems..

Current system is so restrictive that no one will actually play their jedi. I'd actually like to see jedi. A few. So make any death by a non fs person match the exact system presented. But death by another jedi is permanent. If you are high enough you become a blue glowie.

There can be only one...

I like that plan. Let's do that.

Ok, let's all speculate here for a few hundred pages...argue about who's right, and moan about our personal preferences...this is getting rediculous. IN MY OWN OPINION.....it looks to me like they are changing the path to becomming a jedi...just like the path to becomming a doctor, medic, marksman, any other profession. To all those out there that said I was crazy for saying that I believe they aren't changing the process to open the FSS,....show me where, in thier post, they mention the Force Sensitive Slot????..thought so........I'm done.....gonna go play the game.....almost Master Dancer...

Will those of us 75% through the hologrind get to finish our 'work'? Or will we get a badge saying 'hologrinder' for our attempts to play the game as you designed it?

I hate the current FS system, it was hastily and ill-conceived, but you put it in place and now you have to honor it. Maybe that means you grandfather in all current characters (future characters do not have 5(+?) randomly selected skills and Holocrons stop dropping); maybe that means that you have two FS systems working at the same time. But since the problems inherent in the current system are not game-breaking and are of your creation, you have to stand by them while you introduce the alternative system.

You guys put us to work, you set up a system where a player had to become an achiever and a grinder if they wanted to get to the higher end game, now you have to honor the work we have put in with more than just words.

you know what i really like, is the fact that they put this up on friday. It's kind of like saying:

"Hehehe, let's dump this post on them right before the weekend so we can let them kill each other before we get back on monday so we don't have to deal with it."

C'mon Devs, you know us better than this, you don't give a kid a lit match, leave and expect everything to be alright when you get back. Just my 2 credits on the matter. <-- i just like this smiley, lol

I think this system is very fair. How ever to balance out the pvp. If an imperial is involved in pvp with a Jedi and a Jedi uses his/hers powers the imperial should get a window popup option to be able to "report" the jedi to Imerpial authorities and this puts a TEF on him and in time if the Jedi stays in that radius imperial npc troops should begin to appear.

The report feature should also only be seen for imperials and Jedi's should not know that the imperials are doing it or when they do it.

However if Jedi have a high force skill they could see the future and a mysterious force msg that says something like " You feel a presence of danger is near"

Something like this will limit Jedi from doing stupid things like getting in PVP battles.

Also Co vert Rebel could also be giving the option to report a jedi.

Just a thought

Ok, been working alot lately and haven't been as up to date on this as everyone else seems to be. Should I stop my holo-grinding madness? I don't think I'd even finish it before alot of these changes go into effect if the path to Jedi becomes a quest based system...

Thanks

yes i am a mbh

yes i hate the holo grinding and how it has messed up all parts of this game, from economy to immersiveness (is that a word?), all the way to general playability.

yes i think the jedi class needs to have these fixes (although i tend to disagree with the lack of some sort of permadeath, but i dont play the jedi so i dont know for sure about that issue yet)

NO, they should not have put in these changes until they had fixed OTHER BUGS in the OTHER CLASSES, and finished both the Droid Invasion and the Imperial Crackdown.

YES, they should have FIXED our bh DROIDS, or at least our mission terminals (so that they give a name to look for, it is a large galaxy after all), so that we could try to exercise our selves as one of the Organic Controls that were always mentioned concerning the jedi population.

just as the jedi want their class to be fun and challenging, without being a punishment for the punishment they already endured grinding (zzzzzzz) to get there, the bouny hunters (and every other dev-forsaken professions)want their professions to work too.

it seems important to deal witht he bounty hunter issues concerning jedi, as they are one of the chief elements of the Organic Controls mentioned by the devs in regards to the jedi population.

i am hard pressed to believe that anyone, ESPECIALLY the jedi folks, want to have hordes of jedi runnning around flashing sabers. the jedi i have talked to who are 'powergamers' (i am not a powergamer) have said that they most assuredly do NOT want a bunch of jedi running around. in fact, these same jedi decry the lack of immersion and continuity that has occured already due to the holo grinding and the jedi bugs (grinding in the house to get your force points anyone? at least they cleared that up....no where near in a timely manner, but eventually they did)

Simple question: What percentage of the population of a Server being Jedi will be too high?

5%?
10%?
20%?
30%?
40%?
50%?

I worry that we will reach 25% very quickly.

This new system introduces a much easier game for Jedi. The life of a Jedi was said to be very very very difficult. That is all changing. I suppose that for the game's longevity, certain liberties must be taken and certain principles, like the tough life of the Jedi must be thrown out the window. Sure, it will still be more challenging than playing a regular character, but I thought it was meant to be much much much more difficult.

Also, this is the death of "blue glowies" since we don't want any real consequences for the death of Jedi.

The squeaky wheel does indeed get the grease.

Some of my pet peeve bugs:
•Armorsmith protection layers were not converted with the CU.
•Ship Details window does not close when you click "Travel" resulting in the message "You have lost the target. Closing interface."

No permadeath... looks like the Jedi whiners got what they wanted. Of course SOE would listen because insatisfied customers equals less account which in turn means less money for them.
Hey, here's a **edit**ing clue. How about now since more Jedi will be invading the Galaxy, try fixing the FUBAR bounty system for Jedi. Make mission terminals spit out real PC Jedi 24/7, make droids work, etc. etc.

not to highjack this post or anything but...

Looks like your the one whos upset over permadeath. You know how long it takes to master a profession, especially one you do manually, as in non macro? Mow try and master 8 professions. As for your statement about disatified customers = less $$$, seems like a very biased comment, all you care about is your BH profession... nevermind other professions alot worse off than you. Droids will work.. soon, ever heard of Droid Invasion? Why do BH need to hunt jedi when no body plays jedi atm because its just a waste of time?

anyhow good job with the jedi thing devs... id rather do challenging quests with no leads than grind professions day after day for months. Even if there are more jedi running around, the BH will hunt them down once the system gets fixed.

KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK
Long live SWG

Oiwik Kalmor the Rodian. Final profession pending.
