Thread: Faction Insurance Day Pass: How much?

Do you guys realize how much money people save with this? This is a fantastic bargain.
For roughly 50-100 Faction Points, players get no armor decay and 1 time pay for insurance for 24 hours? No decay and one time insurance for PvP is tens and hundreds of thousands of credits cheaper.
In 2-3 hours of hard PvP, a player can spend 20-50K credits in insurance andlose 10-50% of their armors integrity. No insurance at all means this stays in the game...I certainly wouldnt like that.
TH, please clarify:
Do we get no decay with this faction insurance or do we still have 1% decay? And this faction insurance is for PvP deaths only, right?
No. He said it will be for PvP and PVE factional deaths. Don't forget that...ANYONE...
Nothing! This is a TERRIBLE idea. ![]()
Make it:
1. In any PvP death decay does not happen.
2. If you are insured, there is ZERO DEATH DECAY!
There is enough decay from combat to armor and weapons without the added death penalty.
Don't fudge the issue with small fixes
REMOVE PVP DECAY
And make your customers happy!
I think were all a little confused TH..
If your saying the pass will work with faction(reb vs imp) deaths, then we could use this pass to grind out NPC missions?
But if thats not the case, and only for PvP, then (from your example) how can the system tell if its PvP or PvE?
Anyway, if I was to pay for a pass, for either PvP or PvE I would say that it should be either 100fps or 2k creds. I dont like the idea of forcing the user to spend fps's incase they dont have them or they want to save them up for something..
Haven't you said recently that it isn't possible for the system to tell what/who killed you? I thought you said that the system could only determine how you were killed (i.e., blaster bolt). Can you please clarify this?

After Tuesday/Wednesday? LOL I made very sure that it means NO 1% decay when you buy this insurance "day pass" and yes, it is for PvP deaths.
TH you have one MAJOR flaw in that system.
The Griefer effect.
whats that?
Well you poison flame or desease the guy, don't DB and let him incap to death. Or what about if a pet kills you, faction points are not awarded for pets either.

I just saw the comment regarding this being triggered by "factional death". So, if I'm killed by a factional NPC will it read the same way as being killed by a factional player?
Also, is this only triggered by any factions other than Rebel and Imperial?
Thunderheart, why bother asking us if you're not going to do what we want?
You and I both know you guys already have a set price. Its probably something like 600-1000 FP, right? This is just another lame attempt to make us think that we have some kind of say in the game we pay $15+ a month to play, when you already have an idea, and even if you didn't you don't give a flip what we want.
Deny it all you want. Its blatantly obvious. After a month of posts praising the removal of decay from PvP, after the removal of PvP being on the Friday Feature... you turn around and yank that out from under us. The resulting backlash caused well over 50 pages of outcry, and outrage. But do you guys care? No. The "publishers" obviously know better than the players. Somehow decay is important. Its innefective at best in accomplishing what you intend to do. Due to decay, armorsmiths are getting richer than they already are, which is unfathomable to a combat-only profession who has to grind missions for a week to equal one suit of armor sold by an armorsmith. Tailors? Decay does nothing for them. Clothes are wearable at 0 condition... BE mods work. So who is getting helped by this wonderful mechanic thats completely necessary, per JustG?
Meanwhile, the already floundering GCW is all but dead because of it... and you think this solution will make it better? For Christ's sake, 98% of the gaming population doesn't want decay present in PvP. Screw the players, right?
Every time I've read a post by a SOE employee in the last week or so, I've lost more and more desire to even log on this game. Its lies (I understand you were told wrong information. It doesnt change the fact that what you relayed to us was an outright lie), coverups, or lame attempts to make us feel like our voice is getting heard. I loved this game at one time, and I supported you guys in light of all the flak you guys caught on the forums. However, I think at this point in time its well deserved.
Your marketing department should be outraged about all of this blatant disreguard for what the customers want. I'm sure you're all aware that Worlds of Warcraft will be released this year. I know I personally signed up for the beta test, and I know a lot of other people did as well. I would gladly leave this game in a heartbeat if I get into the WoW beta test. And I'm sure I'm not the only one. I'm not trying to threaten you guys because thats not effective. Its just facts. People are willing to leave a supposedly "finished" game for a beta test. Not to mention whats going to happen when WoW is actually released.
Do you guys not see the problem? Are you that blind? Or do you just not care? This isn't even about the PvP decay issue anymore. The very fact that you even made this topic is insulting. How can you and your cronies at SOE ask what we want, and expect us to be joyful and sincere about replying, when you blatantly ignore the desires of the player repeatedly, without fail, and with no apology?
I know you're probably not even going to read this. Even if you do, you won't reply since its not wanton praise (I won't even go off on that tangent... this post is long enough...), so I don't know why I even bothered. Guess I just wanted to get it off my chest.

it's maybe harsh....but i agree....that's EXACLY what i feel and i know alot of other player feel too..

In the teams effort to resolve the PvP Death and Decay, what we are going to be able to implement (for publish 7), is a Faction Combat Day Pass. This "day pass" is Insurance.
You check in with your faction recruiter, purchase a day pass for faction combat (PvP and PvE), and for 24 hours, you will have no decay on your insured items.
How much do you think this should cost?
Aakhperkare brought up a great point to folks who are coming in new tothis discussion:
This is a PvP issue, Exclusively.
The "PvE" part is forwhen a Factioned NPCIncapacitates you- - NOT general PvE. General PvE will remain as-is.

I think that around 500 fps is a good price for that perk since for master elite combat professions it's just 2-4 missions to get them (15-30 min max) and for crafters or non fighters it's just around 50-55k credits from your local smuggler.
Anythig less is too cheap and will be equal to give it for free.
