Thread: Faction Insurance Day Pass: How much?

Do you guys realize how much money people save with this? This is a fantastic bargain.
For roughly 50-100 Faction Points, players get no armor decay and 1 time pay for insurance for 24 hours? No decay and one time insurance for PvP is tens and hundreds of thousands of credits cheaper.
In 2-3 hours of hard PvP, a player can spend 20-50K credits in insurance andlose 10-50% of their armors integrity. No insurance at all means this stays in the game...I certainly wouldnt like that.
Ok fine. I can agree with the insane insurance costs. I spent 20 minutes PvPing, and it cost me 20k in insurance. That's too much, and doesn't allow newbies or the poor to participate.
How about making it a two day pass (one day is a little restrictive) for 100FP a pop. And better yet, get this in before making us wait another month. You have no idea how BAD some of us want to kick off the GCW...

yes, it is a good deal since you are FORCING a decay system that you cant seem to justify well enough to appease us. do you not see this? most of us here are repetitively saying this. explain to us why we need this decay and then maybe we could understand and justify a free day pass system (which is not even remotely realistic)
further example:
Cloning costs 1,000 credits, but if you do not clone, and die, and the risk is high and the chance great, that you could die, then this cost is considered acceptable. People will clone before they pvp usualy because the cost of siting around and repairing wounds and battle fatigue far out weight the usefullness of cloning with no wounds and no battle fatigue. This has merit and value, and you do not need to clone more then once per location. So in a sense what cloning costs is simply how much you pvp.
pvp for 30 minutes and die 2 times. cloning costs 500 credits per death.
pvping for 24 hours and dieing 50 times, cloning costs 20 credits per death.
Insurance:
since cloning is considered a worthwhile exspense, insureance adds to this cost. Insurance is your vairable cost of dieing in PVP. while fixed costs (cloneing costantly gets cheaper and cheaper per death, insurance gets more exspensive per death)
pvp for 30 minutes and die 2 times. fixed cost 1,000 Vairable cost *lets say 1,000 per insruance* so thats 2,000. and total cost is 3,000 ATC is 1,500....you pay 1,500 per death
pvp for 24 hours and die 50 times, Fixed cost 1,000 (or 20 credits per death) vairable cost 1,000x 50, total cost 51,000 ATC 1020 credits per death.
you might say well you are paying less per death, if you pvp more, and you do save your armor to last longer, and that will drive your total cost lower, but that is only half true, because in both senarios you are making a loss. What is better? to lose 1,000 credits....or to lose 51,000 credits? The reason you are taking a loss, is because you receive nothing for pvping but a few faction points, that you can more effeciently receive elsewhere doing NPC missions.
the reality is that people will not pvp, or not use armor, or use armor that is not as good and is considered average at best, and take the 5% decay rather then to pay these huge costs, because they have ZERO revenue in terms of harvesting in the GCW. The less it costs the more people will pvp, the less it costs the more people will insure.
now a free pass for insurance that lasts an entire day, since most people use droids to protect their valuables that decay now which costs them ZERO, then for the average person its still not worth buying these tickets or passes, because its less of a loss to simply go with cloning, then it is to go with cloning +insureance. or better yet to not pvp at all.
Don't forget that line right there when you impliment it...

In the teams effort to resolve the PvP Death and Decay, what we are going to be able to implement (for publish 7), is a Faction Combat Day Pass. This "day pass" is Insurance.
You check in with your faction recruiter, purchase a day pass for faction combat (PvP and PvE), and for 24 hours, you will have no decay on your insured items.
How much do you think this should cost?

Do we get no decay with this faction insurance or do we still have 1% decay? And this faction insurance is for PvP deaths only, right?

just because it is a good deal doesn't mean it is a desirable deal.
do you realize how annoying it is to pvp in this game? you're asking us to add another prep routine.
it's just more work.
as it is now because of the, imbalance of the combat system, just to pvp you need to BUFF.
-that's 5k. (track down a doctor, make sure your BF is gone so the buffs stick well, wait while he buffs you in line)
-then you have to declare
-then you have to clone 1000k
i-nsure all your items 1000k-3000k
then you have to wait 20 minutes to get where you're going. (one to the starport - new planet - next shuttle blah blah blah)
then you die in one shot from a flame cone or mind poison.
now you're asking us to pay out faction to get a days worth of free decay? it's just more details and annoyance. we WANT to be able to jump into PVP anywhere and anytime to help our friends.
not have more prep work just to play for 24 hours.
and what happens when you're defending a base right at that 24 hour end mark and you POOOF you die outside the mark. then you have to STOP fighting and store your armor or keep helping your friends defend and lose your armor all together.
this one fight right over the 24 hour line could make the whole thing pointless as you can lose clothing/armor/items in a few deaths.
you guys need to take a course in making the GAME FUN.
TAKE OUT DECAY ON INSURANCE.
it's not a faction related issue its a global game issue.
faction perks should give us bonuses to our performance (suggested in many fine threads on the GCW board which you should spend more time at)
The only item it affects is armor... which DECAYS ANYWAY!
Cloting does not disappear when it reaches 0. I have been running around in condition 0 clothing for a month now.
This only helps the billionare armorsmiths and HURTS everyone else.

Now how soon can we get this into the game.

After Tuesday/Wednesday? LOL I made very sure that it means NO 1% decay when you buy this insurance "day pass" and yes, it is for PvP deaths.

We're quite aware of the cost, Thunder. That is precisely our problem with the about-face. The real question is, are the DEVELOPERS aware of it? And assuming so, why are they insisting on building yet another time sink to interupt PvP?
Its not a bad compromise. I simply don't understand why the hell a compromise was instituted when none was necessary or wanted.

Translation: Are you blue in the face yet, guys? Because you will be before the Dev team ever listens to you.
Honestly, it's been reported a million times over and I will state it again: Armor naturally decays through use. The devs do see this, yes? I HAVE to go buy armor again at some point anyway, if I want it. Decay just sped up the process and forced me to grind missions more often and pvp less. So, why even bother with day passes, or whatever?
You guys are a public relations nightmare. If I had to address the public with the ideas the dev team keeps throwing out there, I'd never stop hating myself. This is just one more example. At-St's for players(to attract imperial players? why didn't you guys say that faction meant nothing in opening fsc slot? would have gotten plenty who wanted to be the empire without offering a giant crutch)Blue glowie dead Jedis, decay....bleh...
Why not just abandon this "we need stiffer penalties" line and look at the game. My guns wear out fast; my armor without being db'd wears out fast ANYWAY. Hello....? Anybody home? Usage should be my penalty and death decay should go the way of the dodo period. If I want model armor and never fight or hunt...then there is my day pass....
