Thread: Friday Feature Errata: PvP Insurance Yes, 1% decay, not gone.

Please print this entire thread out and then make 3 copies. Deliver one to your Supervisor, one to your Marketing Dpt. and the other to theidiot that decided Decay was a good idea.
Then you may not have to ask a 3rd time to get decay out of PvP because I would imagine it won't be around at all!
My solution to the problem? Implement the original Corpse Runs that increased the since of danger, dread for death and the money sink of insurance.

Come on TH. Look at how fast this thread is growing. Please remove all decay on insured deaths until you can properly implement the PvP decay system without decay.

WHAT THE **edit** DOES INSURANCE MEAN TO YOU FREAGIN PEOPLE. iT'S FREAGIN INSURED, 1% SHOULD HIT WHEN YOU DON'T MAKE THE INVESTMENT TO INSURE.

Insurance: Coverage by a contract binding a party to indemnify another against specified loss in return for premiums paid.

Decay of any kind/ammount when involved with PVP will not further pvp/GCW, I avoid pvp now for the simple reason That I can not afford to constantly replace items, nor do I wish to. And I will certainly never wear my ST armor in PVP if thier is ANY decay. You want OVERTS? Get rid of PVP decay.
I'm so frustrated with the devs of late, that I'm simply gonna say it straight:
IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO DISCERN TWO DIFFERENT TYPES OF DEATHS, JUST REMOVE DECAY ALTOGETHER UNTIL YOU LEARN HOW TO DO THAT!!!
WE (CUSTOMERS) DO NOT NEED TO SUFFER BECAUSE OF YOUR TECHNICAL INABILITIES!
All new characters start with three fully-insured, non-item decaying deaths. I tested it this morning, so I know this is the case. So every player has this counter.
At the time of death, the game has to know if the player died in PvP or not, else the damage couldn't be reduced and the new insurance couldn't be implemented.
So at the time of death, add a large number to this counter indicating it was a PvP death and to prevent mixing with the Newbie Deaths. This is because of cloning at closest facility can still give you wounds in PvP, so there needs to be differentiation (if I'm wrong, then even easier).
When you make the check on the counter for newbie deaths, if it was PvP you can bypass the decay and insurace check altogether. If newbie death you do it as is.
Tada! No decay with an already existing system being used.
