Sorry for a double post. The first time I submitted the response it put up the login screen again (which is one of the most frustrating aspects of these darn forums....it seems to not remember if we are logged in and requests it constantly and then loses our thread position). If I could freaking EDIT my posts, I would clean up the 2nd one. Someday I'll get annointed with Veteran status.

OH and after reading back through a lot of the posts, I guess item decay is NOT a unique bug since there are many people in here saying the same thing.

You won't see my group going back up there just to burn through armor and wander around aimlessly in white lit hallways as punching bags. Never mind that our 10 group members have been top guns in just about every PvP or PvE scenario since the launch (in other words it wasn't TWO noobs going for a stroll, it was a maxed out group of well trained and equiped Elite/Hybrids). I was hoping for content and excitement, but instead found something even more frustrating than grinding Jedi. The armor was decaying faster than a lightsaber. Wow! Maybe the Vette was really placed there to make Jedi feel not so bad?

Fine! I'll go back and grind Jedi again. The "vette" was a waste of money and time.

Maybe you should quit bitching and actually finish the mission. What? Your armor decayed? Heaven forbid there be a penalty for dying. What? You were all uber templates? Still didn't finish? Maybe you need to think, try harder, take a risk. I've heard so many people complain about this game being too easy. You brag about being the best in PvP and PvE? If you are the best then you should figure this one out. Read some of the other posts. There are people soloing this and completing the mission! Soloing! You've got your uber group and can't even finish it. Instead of bitching at the Devs for finally putting something challenging in the game why don't you shut up, lock, load, get your ass back up there and finish the mission. I'm sick of hearing people whine because they are losing money and armor. It is a risk. Deal with it. You want the loot? You want to complete the mission? Take a risk. Figure it out. And quit whining!

Instead of flaming me like a troll, why don't you post a helpful suggestion. TH asked for feedback, and that's what I provided. My point here was the fact that we couldn't find any information on this quest and merely tossed time and money out the window. We were not in search of any loot (don't even know if any exists up there), or a chest thumping opportunity to roll without resistance through some area. We went there in search of content and found nothing but a time and money sink.

Here is a little break down of the risk that is associated with the corvette. This is purely for the "fighters" but could be adjusted for the other professions. Armor and weapon degredation would be exchanged for stims and other meds. I am basing this on my experience, where I have done the vette twice and died once (doctor rezz, no clone). Therefore I have not suffered the decay many other players have.

These costs are from Bria and the venders I deal with most commonly.

  • Composite armor: 450k

  • Armor slices: 27k

  • Doctor buff: 10k

  • BE enchanced brandy: 250 per drink

  • Muon Gold: 300 per hit

  • Average Weapon: 25k

  • Weapon slice: 3k

  • Travel Costs: 8k (doing all 3 quests due to lack of direction)

Let's add up the "risk" for doing the corvette:

Single use items: 1x Doctor buff (10k) + 4x Brandy (1k) + 1x Muon (300) + 1x Travel costs (8k) = 19.3k

Degredation of items: 15% Durabilty on armor (71.55k) + 5% Durablity on weapon (1.4k) = 73k

Total cost tosurvive the corvette is 92.3k credits per party member. This would be acceptable if the "rewards" were on that level.I have averaged 3k credits oflooton my 2 trips, not exactly breaking even in my opinion.I have said it many times before and will continue to state it, the risk vs. reward on this "dungeon" in way out of balance. The corvette will become a novelity once everyone gets their rifle/speeder/badges.

A guy in my group standing 4m away did not get onto the Corvette. I told him to /bug it:
Probably cause is him having the email window open.

Yes. Would someone be so kind as to EXPLAIN what the tasks are? Apparantly we failed to find the rosetta stone to help us decipher exactly what we were suppose to do. NOT that I'm very inclined to go back up there unless I'm naked, and all my inventory is empty of decay affected items, but it would be nice to know what we were suppose to have done other than stack a few million credits worth of armor on the campfire.

This should help you with the destroy mission:

http://ataxia.ath.cx/guides/vette-guide/index.html

There is another guide with better maps posted here:

http://belita.netfirms.com/

Lastly, check the game guides forums, there are a ton of threads there asking questions and such.

It's pretty sad that third party guides required to complete the mission. If the group I was with did not have a guide and a group member who had completed the vette, we would have been completely lost. The directions need to be better and the overhead map needs to highlight the level you are on.

On my second run, assination mission, the whole group got pissed and left. This was not because of the difficulty, but because we couldn't figure out where we were (overhead map issue) and what was required to complete the task (directions). We knew it was an assination mission, but who are we supposed to kill, once again, we had to use a third party guide to figure this out.

The two fixes that are needed for the corvetteand the warren are:

  • More clearly defined objectives and a rough idea of how to accomlish them. Maybe a facility status terminal at the start????

  • The overhead map needs to highlight the level your character is on. This can be done by altering the color of the level you are on or heavily fading the levels you are not on. Either way, the overhead map is all but useless for these dungeons due to the multiple levels.

OK, let's try this again. My first post here was done without reading any others to ensure TH collected individual feedback on the experience (untainted by reading other posts). That completed, let me post the following less emotional and more organized feedback:

1. Getting information on how to start the Corvette was rediculously challenging and frustrating. On a few occasions we just called off the event due to the challenge in locating the ticket.

2. It took us 3 different efforts to get the group up together as the first two occasions accidentally had less than the full group go up when they were trying to figure out how it worked.

3. On one occasion we had members eject prematurely as they didn't know what the escape pods were until it was too late (they thought they were computer terminals).

4. The lack of understanding the point (goals) of the mission were the 2nd worst part of the experience. Going into a very hard location and being kicked around like punching bags with massive decay and no concept as to what the goal is, does not equate to entertainment. It is doubtful the people in our group will return due to this alone. Yes, we all love a good challenge and mystery. The Geo Lab did a good job of this, even though we have yet to finish that one either. At the very least, we could figure out what to do as the story progressed.

5. The massive amount of item decay is the single worst part of this experience. It has nothing to do with credits, but with frustration of loss of items for nothing in return. I would rather pay 100K or more as an entry feeto enter the "vette" for the experience to try our hand at understanding what to do and to see something new and different, instead of laying on our backs watching the decay rate on our items burn down key items that are hard to replace since so many good armorsmiths are retiring or harder to find lately. I could care less about loot or being able to sweep the floor of all targets. We were hoping for content and found something more frustrating than trying to stay awake for hours on end while grinding PvE Jedi cycles.

6. The option to leave the "vette" needs to either be part of the menu options after dying (clone or return to planet), or the escape pod and cloninglocation need to be one in the same and they need to be insulated from the NPCs who tend to gather near the clone spot and repeatedly kill freshly cloned players thus further exacorbating the experience. Several of us faced an additional three or four deaths just trying to quit (leave) after giving in that we were not interested in staying for the beating.

7. For those who care about loot, it would seem to make sense to have something of value from the experience. In my case, I was just hoping for the chance to see the new droids and stormtroopers. Instead all we saw was the brightly lit first couple of corridors.

Hope that feedback helps you TH. Let us know if this thing gets modified and maybe we'll go back up naked for a walk through.

I went on this adventure this weekend. We went up twice. The first time we ran out of time, the 2nd time we completed the rescue mission. I died once on each mission. I got rezzed the first time and on the 2nd I cloned and we hit the escape pods mission complete.

I never had a problem with the clone room being camped. The first thing our group did upon entering was to clear out a fair bit of the halls in that opening area. It would be nice to insure up there and be able to do buffs, but honestly you have to hustle pretty fast. Just trying to rest a bit after each encouter we ran out of time on the first attempt. If you get rezzed it doesn't use up your insurance. You don't have to clone over and over again. Once you die and loose your buffs and your first insurance, you are pretty much useless. (I have also thought armor decay was a bad idea. Like weapons it already decays with use. Why made it decay again on death other than to grief players)

While I had a good time, I thought a great deal of the corvette mobs were over the top. I don't have a problem with mobs that are higher ham so they can stand up to concentrated fire of 10 people and live more than 1 second. The mobs in the opening area were fairly reasonable, and a tougher officer type mob was okay. Other areas of the ship you are just swarmed by mobs and they all have massive hams. To me this isn't much fun. Regular vanila battle droids from the Episode 1 movies were more powerful than most things on the ship.

I also like to feel a bit in control and much of the central part of the ship is just pure chaos. I didn't really feel I had a chance to really explore the ship as I wanted to.For people that don't want to just rush through the ship to do the objectives one after another, the time limit is a bit too quick. Those that like to fight room to room and be careful are heavily punished by the one hour time limit.

In most games the supermobs tend to turn me off. Those are not the type of adventures I do over and over again. Too much time and effort goes into preperation and there is too much at risk for what often turns out to be a failed task. Some thrive on this type of stuff, I usually do it once and never go back.

I am really looking forward to being able to do this someday. From everything that you are writting this is exciting as a goal. I think people should be happy to have something very hard to do. I see really experianced players who don't have any challanges anymore looking forward to this and the PvP. I just try and make it through the day without dying doing something stupid....

I Love this game and look forward to being as good at it as the rest of you. Thanks for all of the info. on what to look forward to.

I give it a 2 out of 10.

Seems like a big money sink to me... tonnes in tickets and you need to buy new armor when you are done.

Utter failure if you ask me.

Already the exploiters have all the money, best equipment and weapons.

You just made them a nice playground where only they can play and if we save up millions, they may sell us some of the crap.

Well first off I am dissapointed for one thing only and that is that I couldn't see the ship. ( Only saw space around me - and Group Members and Enemies )

I have some screenshots of how it looked for me, and you'll see why I was disapointed. I have sent in a bug report of it.

The story was that I was there with some in my guild, I was the only one that didn't see the ship. But we got pretty far into the corvette before the time ran out. After that visit I sent in a bug report. And I even made a "Full Scan" on SWG files... Hoping it would work out next time.

So I go there a second time with mostly like 7 Bhs, 1 TKA, 1 Doc and 1 CH. But the same bug was still there, couldn't see the ship. But we made it pretty far into it again, it even went better this time.

So today I re-installed SWG and maybe it will work this time for me, haven't had time to try it yet. But I hope that I might be able to enjoy the nice graphincs of the ship.

And except for this massive bug I still enjoyed the corvette, It was hard but then again why even try to kill all enemies, go for the ones that must be taken care off, and you get longer into the ship then like 5 min. I didn't die for like 30 - 40 min. both times we where there. But you should be able to re-buff up at the ship, and perhaps remove the decay. But I don't really care about those things. I will still return and try til I complete it. ( Even if it is bugged )
