How about:

bring back corpses...

no decay & no item loss if you insure.

and corpse runs if you don't.

like it was originally.

Since participating in PvP, you easily have a chance of losing far more FP than you can gain, because it takes a deathblow to gain FP, when it should require an incap. And the amount of FP lost should be lessened when DB'd.Stop heaping on penalties to something that has few, if any rewards.

Remove decay on insured until a better less duct tape fix can be added. Since we have to wait yet ANOTHER month or more to actually get anywhere with this horrible situation...

Is there any way that the cost could be scaled based on your rank?

This could be especially nice if it's decided that the insurance will cost credits instead of FP.

Also, it might help to lessen some of the sting Rebels are currently feeling for seeing no benefit whatsoever from attaining a high rank.

Just a thought....

Regards,

Addendum:

-No matter what the final decision is, I think it should be free for Colonels of either faction.

Would be a nice benefit other than being able to pool 60600 FP and /delegate at 1:1. Also, Colonels stand to lose the most FP by participating in PvP. So by making the pass cost FP you would be essentially punishing players of higher rank MORE than those of lower rank.

Again, just a thought...

Regards,

Do you guys realize how much money people save with this? This is a fantastic bargain.

For roughly 50-100 Faction Points, players get no armor decay and 1 time pay for insurance for 24 hours? No decay and one time insurance for PvP is tens and hundreds of thousands of credits cheaper.

In 2-3 hours of hard PvP, a player can spend 20-50K credits in insurance andlose 10-50% of their armors integrity. No insurance at all means this stays in the game...I certainly wouldnt like that.

I think what alot of us want to "realize" is why decay is necessary and how it improves the game. Not theories, numbers from the database. Thanks.

Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country. - Hermann Goering

I agree that this whole idea is BAD. Simply poorly thought out and as so many other poorly thought out ideas, poorly implimented in a game that's already got too many "gimps" in it. Yes you're fixing it so that DOTs don't rule PvP any more (thank you), but removing ALL Decay on Death in PvP is what's needed to get me to raid more than once a week. I'm not super rich, and watching my hard earned Composite Armor that I spent 2 days searching for go down 1-3% each time I clone between decay and use hurts. I only use my composite when I'm PvP'in. Cheaper Ubese goes in for almost all PvE use. So let me tell you how it could, should and can be with a little thought and a bit of work:

Keep PvE insurance as it is. I can take a 2500 credit hit to insure because I got jumped by a dozen maulers or a pair of Rancors. It hurts, but since I usually have my Ubese on during these times it hurts a lot less.

PvP: When you go OVERT (not TEF'ed) all items you have Currently Insured stay insured through deaths blown by players and are NOT hit for a decay on death. Why do I say not TEF'ed, because that would cut down on the TEF abuse when grouped with one Overt in a group. Oh, and as for how much - it's FREE with the risk of going around OVERT.

BTW: While I have someone's attention. The only class this whole friggin insurance mess is helping is Armorsmiths. It was put in as a way for tailors to get more buisness and to make death "hurt" right? Well HELLO - when an item of clothes go to 0 condition you can still wear it. Other than tools and armor nothing else is effected. I'm sure many many other great ideas have been put on these boards by users of this game. Go back and look at a few of them. Death should hurt, but it shouldn't kill a huge part of this game in the process.

I am a 100% supporter of Decay just to let everyone know. It's time to move on and get over it, otherwise state a valid argument to decay other than "You Lied!" or "My 15 bucks a month should cover it." TH will listen if you post something intelligent, and that's the truth.

Decay was said to be for the purpose of return business for armorsmiths and tailors. i cant think of anything else that is affected by decay right now, so please add in if i miss something here. it has been stated in this thread and others that:

1: armor already decays on its own and people have to buy more when it reaches 0 condition. also, repair kits only work best if used by armorsmiths. (not like they want to be annoyed by all their customers to repair their armor for them). so, if its already decaying, how is it good to add another type of decay in? wouldnt it be just as good to increase the decay time on armor if that was the reason behind it?

2: clothing decays on its own. however, it is still useable at 0 condition. this is a problem. one that tailors have been complaining about for a while. so tell me again how this helps tailors with repeat business??

I can't for the life of me comprehend how TH and other devs can think that this decay is balancing anything. It does not help the proffesions they say it is supposed to help. It will not promote PvP. It will only make this game that much more aggrevating. And the guy that said "My 15 bucks a month should cover it." has a point. I pay money to play a game for fun. This will not make it any more fun for us. The devssay they play this game but i am starting to seriously develop my doubts about all that.

JEDI.

Do you have an answer on how Jedi can participate in this. Or is it the intent of devs to remove Jedi from the GCW entirely. We can't declare overt or covert.
