Thread: In Development: The Village of Aurilia
That being said, I would like the path to Force Sensitivity to be KNOWN. I dont think the path to "general" force sensitivity should be an unknown parallel to hologrinding.

Jedi is supposed to be hard and timeconsuming. if it weren't then everyone would be jedi and/or exploit the system to be jedi. I'd hate for the game to be like that.
I think most people would agree that the system is already being heavily exploited because of everyone simply grinding out professions. I am new to this game and have already met so many people doing this. No matter what the Devs do, the process will be exploited, but some processes are less likely to be exploited than others.
I'm beginning to agree with the other casual gamers (I myself am one) about making the process known to become force sensitive. I really like the village idea and with that, it should be known how to achieve entrance into this village. I would like it to be on a lesser visited planet, not instanced, but permanent, and only those who have gone through the known process to gain entrance to the village will be allowed in without being attacked. Anyone who tries to enter the village without approval will be attacked by NPCs and can be attacked by players whom have gained access already. Overt players should be NOT allowed into this village and possibly even attacked on site by NPCs. As more quests are done to gain FS, the deeper a player can get into the village. This will help keep some the annoying PvP stuff that happens out of the village and away from those concentrating on gaining more and more FS. Also, no dueling in the village should be allowed.
Gaining FS could be quest driven just like becoming a jedi, and why not. This gives people lots of fun stuff to do. I think the FS quests given by the village people should be oriented around using up to aMAX of five professions. This way players stay within a mastered proffesion and give back to the games economy. This will stop profession grinding, but still allow player to explore what they want to do. I don't like the idea of being forced to master a proffesion a player has no interest in. Possibly as you do more quests, the more FS skills you gain access into achieving. Having lots of FS players is not such a bad thing, but having lots of jedi is. Allow people to expirment with the force and if they really like it, then they can decide to tackle the long long process of becoming a jedi. So many players want to be the super elite PvP jedi, but only a select few can achieve that. I think if you allow everyone to experiment with FS skills that will dramatically decrease the dissatisfaction with the way SWG is now.
The reason of the lack of class in current Jedi, is the system to unlock... those who actually care to roleplay, adventure, and not just sit and grind out what had to be done, never unlocked, so we all ended up with the current crop of power gamers with lightsabers. Since publish 9, I've actually found a few low level jedi out and about, who had either just unlocked, or not had time to grind out the Jedi exp prior to pub 9. With the new system, yes, I expect an influx of new jedi, mostly those of us who have been waiting in the wings for a system that actually made sense to come out. Mayhap then we can bring some respect back to what it is to be a Jedi.
Just my two credits.
