The village is fine and dandy, but the question is, how does one get invited to the village? I'd like a definate answer, no more guessing games. If a casual gamer cannot get the Jedi experience, thats a lot of accounts gone bye-bye.

This is not broken. This is a penalty. Unfortunate, yes, but try not dying in the first place.

It depends on how the flow of players through the system goes. (If too many players are pushed through the system, we may have to make additional changes based on technological needs, but if we do that, we will let you know in advance).
does this in fact sound to anyone like what they just did? The flow goes to fast people start unlocking at a high rate and jedi flourish...they will take matters to somehow organicly slow down the rate of unlockers if its to easy is what this sounds like to me..
but the ideas both sound great and hopefully arent compelete waste...

I love this idea theres just a few things that I think you should stay away from.
Don't make it like the Hero of Tatooine. Riding around for hours trying to find something that you may never find isn't fun or enjoyable. The quest to becoming a jedi should be both fun/enjoyable while being tough. But there are many different ways to make it tough than just having us find a needle in the haystack. I think the worst thing you could do is send the hundreds of people who are going to want to unlock on a wild goose chase for a certain spawn. As I've said theres no skill involved in that therefore it's not fun. Anyone should be able to unlock whether it be the casual gamer (would just take more time) or the power gamer (who would get it over with quicker). The casual gamer as it stands will probably NEVER be able to finish the hero of tatooine quest because they just don't have the time or want to do it. I mean lets face it you only get an hour or 2 a night to play the game the last thing you want to be doing is spending that entire chunk of time riding around trying to find something you probably won't find. PLEASE don't make becoming a jedi like this.
Becoming a jedi should take skills, smarts, etc. No noob with a cdef and good buffs should be able to do this....only masters of their given professions should be able to handle the quests given. As it stands right now the jedi knight trials are no more than who can hire the best ranger and who can get lucky finding the right spawns. It shouldn't be like that what-so-ever. While I can understand ONE of the tests being like that the others should be more difficult....quests should involve driving out to the middle of no where and taking out a disturbance in the force...that disturbance could be an instanced fort. Something like fort tusken but obviously smaller...only difference is when you kill something it doesn't respawn so you can take your time fighting through the entire fort clearing it out one by one of it's "disturbance." Cleaning out this fort could take upwards of an hour or2depending onhow high the resists on the npc's are and thats only 1 piece of a 100 part puzzle lets say. I just feel like I'm getting somewhere when I see something done....the hero of tatooine/jedi knight trials I don't feel like I'm getting anything done until I find that certain thing and that can get disheartening and most importantly boring. If I knew that I had to do 100 things to become a jedi and I was doing them 1 by 1 I'd be feeling like I was really accomplishing something where-as if you just give me 5 things to do but it will probably take me 4 weeks just to find all 5 of those things it's just not as fun. As it stands I would much rather have to do 100 time consuming and fun missions than just 5 annoying ones.

This village sounds very mystical and cool. A village to discover through quests, an opportunity to learn from the masters. I think it adds a nice touch to the game.

I, for one am a causal gamer. I have a career and a family that keep me somewhat busy. I have been playing for several months and mastered 11 or 12 professions. Your stats have shown repeatedly that the majority of players want to become jedi....duh....of course, I am one of them. But, if these quests are next to impossible and/or so time consuming, I am quitting the game, as will many others. Do you honestly think that I should have to play, and pay for, this game for two years before I can unlock a Jedi character due to the facts that I didn't choose the right professions to master, or because dev will again change the method of unlocking to string customers along?...I sincerely hope not...and we are customers by the way. But if I get close to unlocking again, and the method is again changed because too many kids that have unlimited play time due to no jobs have become jedi...I'm done...please, please don't do that.

Jedi is supposed to be hard and timeconsuming. if it weren't then everyone would be jedi and/or exploit the system to be jedi. I'd hate for the game to be like that. I hope they make the path to Jedi very hard.

TH,
Sounds like you and the remainder of the devs are headed in the right direction. Ok, a couple of things.......
1.) Your insight to the New Revamp is somewhat limited, appreciated, but limited. Where will this new city be? How will this work? You have to talk to one of the NPC's? Will you have to find this city? And of course with finding this city, if this is the way, how will you prevent SQUATTERS?
How will this revamp be affected by the upcoming JTLS?
It may not be long before you are visited by a mysterious stranger.
How will we get this mysterious stranger to appear? Will it be random? Will we have to do some secret quest?
Over all I am pleased with the way this is heading. I would love to be a Jedi, this as it has beenmy goal of SWG for the past 10 months to become a JEDI. Grinding professions was a NIGHTMARE and I for one am very happy to hear this will end. I think the big thing was that it wasn't Star Wars grinding all those profs. Felt more like a job then a game.

A hidden village where force sensitivity can unfold into an engaging story ... sounds awesome. Just do the best job you guys can on this. Also it would be good to describe in more detail how we might be approached or offered the chance to get to this village. I'm guessing this is where the mysterious part is and just don't want anybody to miss their messenger or msg.
What about the already mastered profession compensation? How will that tie into this new scheme ?
Quest journal goes without saying a unanimous YES !
