Thread: The Path of the Jedi: Reckoning of Effort

I know i should expect a flame for this, but im posting it anyway:
I think those of you who are doing NOTHING but whining and complaining and threatening to quit, should just quit. Maybe i'll get my visit faster.
You know good and well that if they didnt do the gating, you'd all be screaming like 2 year olds because the server crashed.
Or if they hadnt done something else then you'd be whining about that.
All i ever see is a bunch of bickering.
Just because i dont have many posts, doesnt mean im not a veteran to the game.
I have been playing this game off and on since the release.
I have yet to whine and complain about it. I take the game as it goes. Why? BECAUSE IT'S A FLIPPIN GAME!
If you guys are so miserable all the time, then shut up and find something else to play.
I never see anyone thank the devs for the hard work they put into this game.
I'd like to see every one of you make a game and make it perfect.
I've been playing mmorpg's since 97 or 98.
The devs are doing what's in the best interest of the population.
It's a shame when i log in to the forums and see GROWN ADULTS acting worse than my 9 year old.
No one has to hold your hand and guide you through the game. Accept what's happend and move on, or shut up and quit.
The game is a good game. Regardless of the little quirks, it's still fun. Otherwise you all wouldnt still be here.
Thunderheart,
Thank you for the work you and the other devs have put into the game. I for one am looking forward to the quests in their entirety and i do believe the gating is a really good idea.
Amen Zoveth! I'm with you.

It only goes to 5 professions remaining. So if you ended up with 15 professions by the end of yesterday, how does your character fit in here? Again its not the number of professions you have mastered its the number of required master box professions you completed. If you were silent then more then likely you have 4 left to get unlock and the number of professions you completed after silent, wehter ir was some, a few or none at all went to what you were required to do. Unfortanetly the only way we will find out how many required professionswe did is whenwe get to the village and train.
So the real question we should be asking is:
If we are "glowing" we are assured the old man is going to visit us, but according to you TH, that is determined by what group we are in. So what is the goal of SOE to get everyone with "Glowing" to see the old man in terms of timeline? Is it 1 week? 1 month? or 3 days?
Do you honestly think it is fair to make someone with "glowing" wait 4 months due to traffic in the village? Why wasn't the term "glowing" used only if you were to get a visit from the old man with in 3 days? This way the population has some idea what to expect. This way a person in group 4 would not get the "glowing" message until it was there turn.

Aren't Blasters suppose to be the weapons of choice and not fists???
Here's an old sayin' ye should take to heart:
"There are many paths of truth,
If ye choose one and follow it blindly,
Then it becomes a falsehood and ye a fanatic."

I have been playing for about 6 months and have been spending hours and hours a day for the past two weeks on the forums so I would have the latest dirt on what to do to get my "old man visit." Over the past 10 days, I have made sure I have every badge ever mentioned as being a possibility and I am pretty certain I will be "glowy" when I get home in a few hrs. I enjoy this game and I guess you could call me a power gamer considering I play at least 4-5 hrs a day.
On the other hand guys, THIS IS JUST A GAME. IT IS NOT REAL. IT MEANS NOTHING IN THE REAL WORLD.
A lot of these posts sound like people have devoted their lives forthe past year to this stupid game, which is very very sick. Those people should seriously consider therapy. Who here played the first diablo for hours and hours? That game is probibly not around anymore or if it is, no one is playing it or talking about it. The same thing will eventually happen to SWG. Then what? You will have accomplished nothing except to be able to make a statement like, "I once had this real cool character on a star wars game that no one barely even remembers." It should not be the center of your life. Anyone whose life is significantly changed by the fact that pub 10 is not exactly what they wanted shoud seek therapy.
Here is my suggestions for those of you that are "truely" upset/angry/bothered by any of this publish to the point that you think about it while you are not playing or feel strong/real life emotions:
1. seek out a good therapist (no, Im not being insulting, im being serious)
2. go outside
3. develop real/lasting relationships with people in the real world.
4. dont turn on a computer for a while, at least until 1-3 is accomplished.
Seriously guys, internet porn and computer addiction is real and they can destroy families, marriages, and relationships. There are people who are actually receiving mental health treatment for these issues. Take it seriously guys, we all need to do a self evaluation here...
2. Instead of working to "fix" the Jedi system, perhaps you can continue your efforts on producing CONTENT for this game instead of spawn-point races looking for Pirate Captains, sitting in a corner grinding out Droid Engineer, checklisting a list of POI's so you can get 40+ exploration badges, etc etc etc.
This entire Jedi business is basically ruining the game. It isn't Star Wars: Jedi Power Battles Online. I've been playing since last August and quit playing a little over 4 months ago because of the whole Holocron-mania that turned the game into a giant grind fest, but came back recently after hearing that things were "better". I've only mastered four professions in that time, and amassed maybe 60-70 badges over NINE months of playing. I didn't do it all in a day on the premise that I'd get Jedi, I did it because that was my natural progression through the game. It would be NICE to be a Jedi, but not when I'm one Jedi out of 9,000. Its not true to the canon of the Star Wars universe, and its not healthy for a PLAYER-BASED ECONOMY. I'd rather be doing Nym's Quest Park right now and mastering Brawler on my own time, but when you're dangling "Jedi" in front of my face, its hard not to go with the flow of the entire player population. I don't want to be the only guy running around Tatooine and Corellia looking for buffs and weaponsmiths while 90% of the server is choking up Dathomir, so instead of "doing my own thing" I have to do everyone else's "thing" just so I can feel SOME semblence of a player community.
Ridiculous. If you wanted to be a Jedi, go play Outcast,Academy, or KOTOR.
OMFG
17 pages and no-one seems to have read the actual post.
To get into the village right away:
First: "Right Away" Means within 3 days. If all 2000 of us hit the village at the same, dathomir will crash. wake up.
1.) You unlocked between 9 and 10. You did it. wait for the old man.
2.) You are glowing the force is with you. You succeeded under the new system. wait for the old man.
Other folk (grinders)
If you HAVE NOT recieved the unlock message, the professions left / group thing applies to you. People who have unlocked between 9 and 10 DO NOT have to worry about credit for holo profs to get in the village. The whole group thing is for these people.
read:
No professions left: ACCESS TO village.
My GAWD can no-one read?????????
