If you HAVE NOT recieved the unlock message, the professions left / group thing applies to you. People who have unlocked between 9 and 10 DO NOT have to worry about credit for holo profs to get in the village. The whole group thing is for these people.

Don't knock "shenanigans"!!! Its the perfect word to describe what's going on here.
How else would you describe systemattically going out of your way to make the system as unfair as possible, and adding in hard time sinks so that your customer base is left sitting around for months on end not playing and using up your database space, but still paying you money because they believe that they'll one day get a chance to enjoy the game?

Greddy, I have every badge available to a rebel, minus all the profession ones. I have been playing since a bit past launch and chose not to holo grind. Gating me to having access to the village is wrong plain and simple. I am glowy, I should be getting my visit now. Yet I have to wait for players who are 2 months old who had no life and simply grinded most of the professions to finish their phase before I get to even start. Not to mention I am in the last group, since I have only mastered 4 professions (those being out of interest). That to me sounds a bit unfair..they do not deserve any more credit beyond the free unlocks, especially when it means a majority of the player base (who did not grind) will be waiting for them. And if the devs were so concerned about too many people in the village, why didn't they instance it per player or group of players? And what happens come phase 2 of the village, everyone should be granted access to the village come then, and everyone will flood the village the same way they are trying to stop it from happening now. They going to gate me from entering phase 2 too? When does it end?
I'm in the same boat here. I've been around since launch, but chose not to fakk up my character and hologrind my way to jedi(That system was ignorant). I have to wait? And for how long? Every month I have to wait = $15 wasted. I may as well be throwing money in the street. That's completely unaccaptable!
When you created the Corvette you said all new content will be instanced as well, yet nothing has been instanced since. You could just as easily made the village instanced to cut down on lag. The new music and fog looks good, but using lag as excuse to gate the new content and make us all wait is absurd!

Here is my suggestions for those of you that are "truely" upset/angry/bothered by any of this publish to the point that you think about it while you are not playing or feel strong/real life emotions:
1. seek out a good therapist (no, Im not being insulting, im being serious)
2. go outside
3. develop real/lasting relationships with people in the real world.
4. dont turn on a computer for a while, at least until 1-3 is accomplished.
Seriously guys, internet porn and computer addiction is real and they can destroy families, marriages, and relationships. There are people who are actually receiving mental health treatment for these issues. Take it seriously guys, we all need to do a self evaluation here...

ok, my question is... How the hell do i know what group im in, are u gonna tell us? we talked to a csr and his words are "i cant tell you that information" WTH is the difference? woopie u gotta wait a week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks what ever, its nothing secret. the more people who wait to even start the quest are gonna get pissed and leave the game, i didnt mind grinding professions why? cuz i was having fun... i think we should have it the same orig way and have the quest just incase others want it that way.. i know if i have to wait a few months im just gonna quit.. isnt even worth it.

I know i should expect a flame for this, but im posting it anyway:
I think those of you who are doing NOTHING but whining and complaining and threatening to quit, should just quit. Maybe i'll get my visit faster.
You know good and well that if they didnt do the gating, you'd all be screaming like 2 year olds because the server crashed.
Or if they hadnt done something else then you'd be whining about that.
All i ever see is a bunch of bickering.
Just because i dont have many posts, doesnt mean im not a veteran to the game.
I have been playing this game off and on since the release.
I have yet to whine and complain about it. I take the game as it goes. Why? BECAUSE IT'S A FLIPPIN GAME!
If you guys are so miserable all the time, then shut up and find something else to play.
I never see anyone thank the devs for the hard work they put into this game.
I'd like to see every one of you make a game and make it perfect.
I've been playing mmorpg's since 97 or 98.
The devs are doing what's in the best interest of the population.
It's a shame when i log in to the forums and see GROWN ADULTS acting worse than my 9 year old.
No one has to hold your hand and guide you through the game. Accept what's happend and move on, or shut up and quit.
The game is a good game. Regardless of the little quirks, it's still fun. Otherwise you all wouldnt still be here.

Thank you for the work you and the other devs have put into the game. I for one am looking forward to the quests in their entirety and i do believe the gating is a really good idea.

the system wont change , there is not customer support and they dont care about our opinions although we bring food to thier tables.
does any1 know how the system really works?they only said the groups but i think its something like : how many players who talked to the old man didnt finish the quest- if lots of players didnt finish the quest and not so many players were in the village in the daily check -it will be the next group turn.
u can understand why devs did it - for example in phase 1 combat quest there is a spawn of siths that spawns every 2h and each of u guys need to kill lots of them , so if 20000 ppls will try to do that quest they wont get it in those 3 weeks.
they delay between groups wont be that long , i think group number 4 (im there 2 ) will start the quest in a week -2weeks max .
and its really not a problem cuze they quest takes only 3h to do. the only problem is that we cant start converting so we loosing time-so maybe in any dev will think about it- the quest isnt the problem -let all the ppl who has the force that ability to covert somewhere
think about it (yeah like u read the reps)

You led everyone on to believe today would be the day that those who unlocked during publish 9 would get to start their path. You foul mouthed liars. Even a 24 hour notice would have been acceptable, than raising the hopes of all the players and especially those who took a day off work/school in order to do something they worked so very hard for.
These are just things that have been revealed in the past day...do you really want us start digging up all the monstrous things you have done to us in the past year for everyone to view? Something you dont seem to understand. You're jobs are to make this game fun and rewarding to us. You're jobs are not to lie to us, steal from us, cheat us, treat us like fools, forget about us, step on us, ignore us, or give us false hope. Do you hate your fan base so much that you think you shouldn't inform us when something like this happens? Are we only $$$ to you? Pull your heads out of you-know-where and talk to the people dammit!

i think this is how they constructed this patch they all got together right said hey we should make a new patch that allows people not to grind proffessions to get jedi but to do quests to achieve it. Alright cool sounds good. ...-couple months later on release day-... o ya we forgot to tell u everyone out there that has been banking xp to get a little edge on everyone else, and everyone whos beencollecting badgeswere dividing u up into groups from 1-4 and for the peopel at the end ull be able to enter the city in about 6 months and then work ur way up to being itiaiteo ya who knows how long tahts gonna take..but for all u guys that grinded proffessions u get a free pass...wow thank god we made a patch that didnt relate to the old one its so totaly new!!! and so much easier for the people that didnt grind!!!
im not arguing the fact that this was kinda stupidly changed near the end but if the group wait turns out to what its said to be then there is gonna be alot of mean players...i agree with the group factor i think people should get compensation sure go ahead but the wait is unbearable its so stupid...

I really dont understand what all the fuss is about. I personally cant wait for the old man to visit me im glowy etc. He'll be here in a couple of weeks no biggie. I ve been playing this game for a while and love it everytime i log on. I think everyone needs to just chill out. When its your turn, its your turn 
All the flaming in the world wont do anything about that. If you all do happen to leave the game which you ppl have been threatning to do since patch 9, well, at least it will be alot less lag for me Everyone calm down- The old man will come when it is your time. Its part of the mystery and star warsy feel. TH- Good Job im really excited!!!
