When are people going to understand that even when we had permadeath you never lost your fscs. First thing i did when i opened my slot was create a test character. I put up the only title i had as well. That title was JEDI INIATE. Still a Jedi. Permadeath or no permadeath I still would not lose that character. Having permadeath does not reduce the overall number of Jedi. Changing the method to unlocking will of course.

It doesn't change the total number, but it sure has an effect on how many are online at any given time. I agree there are too few on at any given time. It makes looking at the Bounty Hunter mission terminals boring to see how many names aren't even online. But I never want to see 50 Jedis just putzing around Theed waving their lightsabers around like they are 4th of July sparklers.

A Question. Where was the reward to grinding out 40+ professions worth of experience in Mastering Jedi? We could spend the next 6 months in hiding mastering the class but then for what? A chance to PvP once and die losing all 6 months worth of work? What would be the point of Mastering a class if we could not enjoy it once we were finished? To put a title on and be a walking chat bot advertising shops for our main character that we can play and have fun with?

Permadeath was a known part of being a Jedi from the beginning, long before anyone unlocked thier FS slot.

For some reason I thought this was something everyone understood and agreed to live with.

The devs already conceded by making it so the higher level you are, the more free deaths you get.

I agree that even that might be too harsh. But having death decay in a single skill box is too leniant.

Perhaps permadeath if you die4 times in one month.

I might even be ok if there was no permadeath, but the loss of a few skills if you die 4 times in a month.

Having to die more than three or five times in a week before loosing a single skill box isn't enough.

Mostly, I'll just have to wait and see, since what they have written is so vague.

My main concern is to not see 15,000 Jedis running around the galaxycare free.

SOEshould buy the rights and name the game "Return of the Jedi". I wasn't even going to Holo grind, but now they are making it just too easy. Time to jump on the band wagon I guess...

While i respect all of the ideas and suggestions on this board, it is clear to me that there is one aspect of this matter that needs to be addressed and not forgotten.

Change the system that leads to opening the Force slot if you feel the need, after all , everyone recognizes that it was not intellegently designed. However, for all of those who have labored over mastering diverse professions, spent millions on grinding, spent millions on holocrons, these efforts must not be ignored, and should be given the appropriate credit in terms of opening the force slot.

For those who have mastered several professions, i feel they should be well on their way in terms of the new system when it is implemented.

For those who have mastered but a few due to holo grinding, their efforts should also be recognized and should advance them along accordingly in this new system.

For those who have bought holocrons and have them sitting waiting for use after finishing whatever grinding they may be doing, if they are to become useless it is very important that these unused holocrons be compensated for. For instance, if they become useless, the appropriate and agreed value of the holocron should appear in the players pack. This should be done in all fairness afterall, time is money and people who spent much money in order to attain holocrons should not be completely jilted by now holding worthless items.

I feel it necessary to warn SOE, yes the system revamped is a welcomed one, and perhaps it will even be a good one, however it would mean certain loss of a significant amount of players if their countless hours grinding away, and money to support such grinding is not seriously recognized and applied to the new path which is soon to come.

That means, we dont want a badge for mastering several professions, but rather we want such efforts to equal a closer position along the path of opening the force slot!

SOE it is only fair, do not forget the hard work, time and money which we have spent attempting to do what youve told us to.

Sincerely, Ladyjayblue

so many ppl complain bout the timeline that this game follows, but its not like this is the first step away from that, i mean come on, when did u ever see a commando with a flame thrower in the movies? mayb they were in the books i dunno, but most ppl who view teh timeline view it through the movies, i mean in empire, when the at-at's were charging tbe rebels, why didnt some rebel commandos just charge back and flame dot them to death?

when yah bought this game yah had to know it wasnt gonna be a dead on replica of the star wars timeline, soe is in this to make money, if george lucas gets money from this and im sure he does, then yah mister lucas is gonna want money too, if yah dont believe that then watch episodes 1 and 2 and tell me he isnt a bit money hungry, so if they said to him ok we are going to make it so getting jedis is easier, now it may polute the timeline but hey your gonna get more money, im sure he said CHA CHING!!!!!!!!!! and started to check his mailbox for big fat lumps of money

its just a game ppl, stop saying oh ill quit the game and then complain bout the whiners, cause saying your going to quit cause u dont like something is whining, just bite the bullet, take it in the butt like everyone else and smile

i pray the quests will not be something like mentioned in this thread bout having to get a rare resource, because we are all not artisians, and im sure if mister lucas said one thing, its make it as if they were a person in teh star wars universe trying to discover the force, the current hologrinding system is like masterbation, you work hard to get to a point where it feels good, then yah go past that and its over and yah wonder ok what do i do know?

and im a bounty hunter, i dont hate jedi, i just hope they dont sayoh well bounty hunters cant become a jedi, because if the quest involves any form of combat, just means more commandos running around =/ but i have a suspicion that combat wont be involved, or atleast it wont be go kill this 40k ham guy with 99 resists to everything, then steal his wallet

im excited to see how its handled, i think it should be more of a random thing that happens at a random time and thats how yah start the quest

also one thing i forgot to mention, beginning jedis wont be able to run around without a worry, with the imp crackdown being put in, i bet dollars over donuts that imp cities will not be accepting of any covert jedis, causing it to be harder, they just dont want to say anything bout it yet

i think that changing perma-death will ruin jedi in the game. Gone is the challange of being a jedi. Now we'll see hundreds of jedi running around thus ruining the game. by the way you don't always have to listen to all the whiners that complain about the game being hard or unfair. why don't you just hand jedi master to them so they stop whining?

They can't just hand out jedi master to everyone, they need us paying a subscription every month. I sensed a tinge of sarcasm in your reply but it was weak at best (no marks for effort).

Since I'm not entirely convinced yet about the magnitude of your IQ...lemme 'splain it real simple for ya...

Maybe they should just give everyone a FSCS. How about you buy the expansion, you get a FSCS?

The only people that ruin games like this jonus_x are folks like you, who insist the game be on their terms, for EVERYONE. Here's a clue dumbass, anyone who thinks the current implementation of the FSCS is in any way fair, well implemented, or in keeping with anything whatsoever to do with the Star Wars universe needs to put down the crack pipe and step out into the sunshine.

The system would have been better implemented by a 7th grade Special Needs programming class than what we have to work with now.

SOE is a business and if you can't handle a business (SOE in case this is moving too fast for you) making money by keeping customers happy and giving them what they want, you are in for a long and miserable existence here on Earth, though doubtful I needed to give you that news.

BTW, I think quests that reveal the fifth profession (or even #1-4) are a good idea. I just can't let an opportunity for a one-liner about /imagedesign and torso go unused.

Allow me my daily WHAT IN THE HE*L ARE YOU THINKING DEVS?

DO you not see how you have in one STUPID report wrecked so much?

ARE you too stupid to notice the arguing back and forth on what the vague babble meant with everything thinking that they know and others are wrong?

CAN you not see the huge numbers of Holocrons being sold all of the sudden (coincidence? um..no?) because you have everyone thinking that they are not going to be of any use anymore.

WHY in the nine hells will you not make one damned post and clarify and at least FAKE being

a responsible team?

IF you aren't going to post here then CLOSE THESE DAMNED BOARDS AND GIVE US THE GENERAL CHAT BACK.

YOU think you lost people before with some stupid choices, with WOW and UOX on the horizon , if you do not think VERY carefully you will be losing numbers like you have never seen.

Well here we go. I don't care how you handle Jedi death or such because it really doesnt matter. You can have permadeath or perma aggro or whatever. The problem you are throwing at the game by removing Holocron Grinding is the economic aspect. A MAJORITY of my business is through grinders needing resources to help master a profession. If you remove the grinding aspect totally you are going to find that the whole economy is going to go WAY downhill. Let's be honest out there..Why buys the majority of resources that are not "UBER"? It is Jedi Grinders. This allows everyone to mine and sell on Bazzar and actually make profit. If this change goes through you will find that there will be no demand for low to mid end resources. You could add some parts to schematics of current professions to make up for this..which would result in x10 every resource requirement in every schematic. It only hurts the economy. I personally have watched you nerf the crap out of every skill (even merchant that I did nto think was possible since they really had no skills) and now you are going to ditch the economy too. Think about it. You have increased the drop of skill tapes by about 1000% and now you are going to drop the economic demand when you have shirts with a +50 repair skill out there repairing comp armor and weapons very easily? You need to FIX the game before you play with the economy. I strongly advise against any change in the grinding system until you think about what you are going to do to the economy. If you think everyone being able to play a Jedi is going to help your sales while you have a borked platform to launch the space expansion off of you are going to be sadly mistaken. Fix the skill trees. Allow people to grind to Jedi. Place whatever restrictions on Jedi you want as long as there IS a way to be Permadeathed. If not then lower their damage on special skills and give the regular classes a reason to play. Maybe make Jedi UNABLE to wear armor like they SHOULD not be able to. or something along the lines of the story. I know I speak for my whole guild on Corbantis who have mastered umpteen skills trying to unlock the slot. If you change the system while the people that have been PAYING you from the begining have worked toward and change the whole game path in midstream..we will just go back to AC1. I personally have worked this whole first year on Holocrons and will quit rather than go back and start someother way to Jedi. I really don't care about your compensation system. This game is on a teeter totter at the moment with the resource system and the economy. You push without thought then you are just going to make the people who have stuck with you this whole time and PAID the fee.

1. DON"T remove grinding. It is key to the economy and you will see a lot of people with huge opperations go under. You will LOSE subscriptions here.

2. DON"T remove permadeath. in some shape form or fashon there needs to be a reason to not just run up to a kyrat over and over till it dies. That removes the WHOLE challenge to big game hunting. And prevents JEDI from just going out andd taking EVERYTHING

3. Please think before you suggest changes..yes..you need to change the Jedi..no you do not need to wreck the game over it.

4. You REALLY need to put some people on borked content..I mean really..how do you think YOU look when you announce you ban a ton of people for credit duping..at the ONE YEAR POINT. That is pretty pathetic..you need someone to keep up with current content and do some quality checks..your coding is not cutting the mustard there.

5. If you read ALL of these posts there is a bigger cry for fixing the current game than adding Jedi content. COME ON... Some of us loyal fans are NOT going to hang around forever for you to get it right.

Love

Kristin

PS

PLEASE do not take my economy away!

Leveled Bounty Hunter Pistol and Pistoleer Speed Branch to be uber. Found weapon speed is borked and tried to make it all better by telling myself my skills are uber. Skills then nerfed in patch and I was left with loving my uber pets. Uber pets were nerfed and I went to take pride in my harvesters. Harvesters were nerfed so I went to take pride in my faction missions. Faction missions were borked or gave pathetic loot. Ask my why I am posting on the boards?

So does this mean that. after I get a silent holocron, I should just start playing the way I want to play again instead of grinding random **edit**ing professions?

Just checking.

SOE, either move the frickin' timeline back to the old republic or forward to the new republic. Jedi running around in this time frame, expessially in large amount, ruins any last bit of immersion for the current era in star wars. Before you jedi and jedi-wannabes start bitching and saying Jedi are starwars here's a hint. NOT IN THIS TIME PERIOD DAMMIT!
