In your StarWarsGalaxies directory, you will find a file that says, "TREFix.exe". Double click and run that file and then you should be ok after that...

Finally This should really be put into the startup screens when you open the launcher.

This weapon delay makes sense. It's much harder now for pikemen to stack their (lame) dots..

I like the weapon delay

TH,

Hasn't the Jedi aspect of the "instant armor" been rendered moot? My understanding is that Jedi are now unable to wear armor or would their robes be considered armor. I realize that there may be other issues that you are looking at as well like swapping DOT weapons and stacking them. Could there be a more effective solution here such as applying a DOT timer instead of an equip timer?

No, Jedi can wear armor - - they just can't wear armor and use Force powers. And fwiw, its not *just* because of Jedi...there were other instances as well. That was just the best example.

ACTUALLY, the problem is not always solved using TREFix. Read this thread for more details:

launchpad always does full scan

All changes aside (ie. the armor and weapon delay) the bigges tchange that hurts me the most is the Non-Tef'd Jedi. Now I can understand why they did it with the clone camping issues and people griefing them. Now for the Devs to totally remove it was unfair. The Jedi now have absolutle no reason to live in fear or hiding. This totally detracts away from what Yoda and Ben Kenobi were doing. So does this make Ben and Yoda cowards from hiding from Vader, well it must because I just saw 20 Jedi in Mos Eisley. I think the Devs should meet us half-way, remove Jedi Tef's while the Jedi are out in the wild, away from public eye, and allow Tef's while inside the confines of a city to keep these Jedi's from having the urge to proclaim themselves. There is supposed to be Galaatic Civil War going on...Vader has supposed to have vanquisehd the Jedi. This makes Vader look like a complete failure. " Hey Lord Vader, you missed about 75 Jedi in the coronet starport just now". I read a post ealier where a guy was hunting, and had Stormtroopers shooting with him, and he was a rebel. There's something wrong with that.

Thunderheart, Devs, Q-3PO, Sony Online Entertainment...I implore you, no..I beg of you....please, out of all the issues dealing with continuity of this game and with the Star Wars Universe, please, please, plese do not just throw this issue to the wind.

If they fix BH Tracking then I will spend every second in game hunting and killing jedi. If they do not fix it by Friday we willhave a huge problem!

TH, why even allow jedi to wear armor? Since they can't use force powers, it's pretty much useless. Why not just disallow jedi from wearing armor, and make the delay less harsh for normal players.

Also, I'd love to hear one or two examples *with details* where this weapon/armor delay is fixing a problem. All I've heard so far is "there are several instances" or "some players could do this". Since it's now fixed, why not divulge some details to give we players a better understanding of exactly why this changed? Without an exact and relevant explanation this just seems like some "man behind the curtain" hand waving that 99.9% of the playerbase sees as an unnecessary nerf (is that redundant?).

Couldnt you have just put a timer inbetween unequiping armor and using certain commands? This seems to be a lazy fix for specific things that do not effect everyone who uses a macro to make life in the game less time consuming.

Is force regen working properly? Or is there a known issue with it regenerating slower than intended?

TH, this weapon delay is a huge nerf...one that makes combat not very fun. I really dont see why it was necessary. If its just for the jedi, then just have to delay affect them. If its for other instances as well, then step to the plate and tell us what those instances are. I dont think they exist, and I sure havent heard anybody mention anything that was even remotely exploitive about changing weapons/armor during combat. The change is ridiculous, hurts the game, and needs to be taken out.

It's one thing to say OK, DOT stacking is not right and needs to be fixed. It is entirely another to know that going into a change you are destroying an entire proffesion's ability to be effective (i.e. Bounty Hunters). There is nothing else you can say about it, one of the few true strengths of BH is to switch to wepaons as neccesary. Applying state attacks then moving in with something that has a bit more punch to it than carbines. Really, how many BH certified weapons are out there that can apply DOT's let alone have mutliples that stack? They can only be looted, so I'd say very few. In my entire time in SWG I've gotten one, and it sucked hard.

I have to ask you why this was implemented in this way? No time to do it correctly I'd imagine would be the true response. That seems to be SOE's policy on these sort of matters. Nerf first ask questions much later to get it fixed.

Here is afix that the code monkeys can get on right now: Give BH the ability to lessen the timer based on progression through the invest tree, with a nice capper at MBH that reduces it to nothing or perhaps .5 secs if something must be there now. Perhaps a second to .5 second per rank?

Armor being on a timer I completely agree with. The only reason one would be changing armor in the middle of a fight is to gain an unneccesary advantage over another player (exploit).

Like just about everyone else, my initial impression with the delay was shock followed by anger. But the more I think about it the more I realized it makes the game far more realistic. I'll simply have to adjust my strategy as I've done time and time again with the various "fixes" that have come along. If it allows me to stay alive longer than 10 seconds in a PVP fight, then I might just give it a thumbs up
