Lots of people confuse low framerate with lag.

I like both the idea of the village and the idea of a quest journal.

Please make the path to FS playable for Crafters since I don't like paying 2 accounts (one for crafting and one for fighting.)

Thanks and keep up the good work!

This is an interesting idea and sounds like fun. We all know there are two major problems in the game, one is people wanting to be Jedi and spending all their time working on that, which in turn decimates the game economy and two, the need of a combat revamp. It seems the "Jedi Fixture" as I would like to call it is the first priority for the Devs. Something like this would work, everyone just needs to keep in mind that the game economy will suffer from it for awhile, which is ok. Once people get their FS, I think you will see a good portion of them not become Jedi and eventually get back to normal play and this will restablise the economy. I know it would not bother me at all if everyone in the game had some sort of FS, but it would bother me if everyone was a Jedi.

Looking at this idea really makes me think the Dev's have a good publish coming with the Jedi revamp. I think the first month of the publish will be rough with every wannabe Jedi (a high percentage of SWG players) rushing to try and do it. When the hit the brick wall of all the xp needed to get there, most will turn and walk away and finally get that Jedi Fixture out of their system. After their Jedi Fixtures are over with, hopefully the Dev's will be close to releasing the Combat Revamp publish. This will give all those players something new to be excited about and will stay in the game. That's the main reason I can see them doing the Jedi revamp before the combat revamp. This does make sense and really could change the game around completely for the better.

Hi Thunderheart,

From what I'm reading, this resembles the Hero of Tatooine quests somewhat. If my interpretation of what you are saying is correct, then I very much like the ideas you've presented. To be invited to the village, I envision having to talk to some NPC or do something somewhere in the galaxy. Maybe the NPC that one needs to talk to is different for every person. The quests should be dynamic spawns. Wow! I very much enjoyed to the Hero quests, and look very forward to trying to unlock my mysterious path to becoming a Jedi if they are going to be anything like the Hero quests.

Now you would like to implement a system that takes me back to playing guessing games. You want to make us jump through invisible hoops again, extending how long it will take us to unlock by who knows how long. I doubt there are that many players that are NOT playing to become jedi someday. Personally I am tired of waiting, and have absolutely no intention of playing your little guessing games again for 6 months to a year. While I welcome a quest system that certainly will show ALOT more ingenuity then just grinding out profession after profession, having to guess the steps along the way is insulting to me and anyone else who has done everything they can to grind out as much as they can to unlock. IMHO all your doing is rewarding those who didn't have to go to work, or take care of thier family, or anything else except play this game for 20 hours a day, and hindering the rest of us who have tried just as hard, but simply didn't have enough time. We should not be set back to launch, we should be able to continue on with the time we have available in a quest sytem much like the other quests in the game.

Given how hard the newer content you have been adding to the game lately, namely the ackley cave, corvette, and death watch dungeon, I have no doubt that you will purposely make it so hard that only those uber fighters with thier comp armor and million credit weapons can even have a chance in, I'm sure your already making the jedi quest system so hard that alot of us will never be able to complete it anyhow. Isn't that hard enough, that being a wookie CH I will have to team up with a bunch of uber ninja looters to even try the quest, let alone have a chance to complete it? I haven't been able to participate in any of the new content because I don't have uber armor that lets me stand toe to toe with stuff in the ackley cave, and I refuse to give up my pets I spent so much time and money to obtain in the first place.

If I'm going to play guessing games, I'm going to guess which other game will actually give me a fair chance to be successful in it, because obviously you have no intentions of giving me that chance.

Amen to that. I am in full agreement here.

Now, I do realize that I might be assuming the wrong thing here and not giving you guys the benefit of the doubt, but there are some issues here that are very dear to us. Alot of people, including myself, could not afford the time, or credits, to grind through to the top of each profession to unlock our jedi slot, nor did we want to. I, Myself, was waiting for the holocron system to be scrapped so i could have a fair chance at getting my slot. And this time around, i'm hoping this will be it.

Do I like your Ideas? I love them both, Kudos.

Just do them right. Perhaps the village should be instanced. Or make the village only available to FS toons. We dont need every person in the game running in to check it out and lagging the hell out of it. Espically BH'ers. Lets avoid Campfest 2004.

All I would like to see with this system is a few things:

1) A fair chance. If you are going to make it impossible for everyone to get their Jedi without teaming with "uber 1337 d00dz" then you might as well burn the village to the ground.

2) I feel it should be a solo experience. This quest is about your character becoming one with the force. Him, or herself, opening there mind to learn the ways.I dont want to have to take a gank squad with me to beat a nightsister, just so my character can get 1/24 FS skills.

3) No Mystery. You wanna make the quest long? Go for it. God knows you are planning it im sure. Just make sure that if im trying to find my way out of the maze, im not running through it in the pitch black dark with a minotaur on my butt. if you get my meaning.

And thats about it: A Fair chance, while enjoying a solo experience of your character becoming force sensitive, without losing your way. This will help casual players as well as cater to the needs of a REAL Role Player like myself and many others. I personally am looking forward to telling the story of how i becameone with the force.

Please guys, do us solid on this one. This is THE publish i'm waiting for.

Regards,

Xero

I am a 1-year customer, paying 15USD per month. I grinded 19 professions in my spare time. I am 24 years old, have a girlfriend and a career, and I want to become attuned to the force! (because that's waht I wanted since I was six years old)

How to do it in the new system? I can't play 2-3 hours a day, not possible. So will it take me another year to get it?

"the key to unlocking force sensativity is not so much what you are or what you do but how you play and interact with the galaxy"

...a mysterious path, gentle guided intervention allowing the player to make choices on actions that will determine how fast or slow they advance down the path to FS. A very comendable concept of a mechanism to accomplish what was origionaly designed. I have waited a year forthis type of implementation in game of the device allowing the organic path (none of us will say the old way was organic in the nature of THE FORCE) to be traveled by a player. This concept sounds to me like the holy grail of the core game and I am looking forward to experiencing this system when it makes it to live. Let me know if I may be of any assistance on TC with the concept implementation.

First off TH .. Yes & Yes to your questions. I've enjoyed the storyline content that's been put in game so far as well as the mini-quests such as the Hero of Tatooine and the current loot kits. I'm looking forward to more of these in future.

A lot of good key points have been hit along the way:

- the village should be gated or instanced to prevent a server, crashing traffic jam. What about a "ghost portal" of sorts? If you've not been "invited" into the village, the npcs are nothing more than white text, non-interactive characters around an area of buildings. To alleviate "traffic" jams, once a player have entered into the village they receive a message that they will only have "x" amount of minutes to visit the area. This should be longer on the intial visit to allow the player to explore the area and familiarize themselves with it for when they return.

- all factions should have the chance to enter into this city or perhaps.... There could be 2 versions of this village, a light and dark village. The dark village would consist of npcs working for the Empire in research and in locating any remaining Jedi / FS sensitive persons not loyal to the Emperor's cause. Neutrals (i.e. or upcoming non-primary aligned factions) would have their choice on which village to enter, as there are VERY, VERY few true neutral persons to be found anywhere here or in RL. However, the neutrals would have to chose at the time of the Knight trials to select a faction to aligned with possibly creating a subset of the orignal neutral faction.

On the same token with all factions being able to enter the village, there would be certain persons inside the village who had either light or dark tendacies. This could further the storyline along for the players. They would have to discern if the npc they were dealing with had ideals/goals that were aligned with their own and if not to seek out someone else in the village better suited to their personality.

Just some thoughts. Awesome work on this new FS concept.

No. It seems like a quick fix to solve a problem with inconsistancies between SWG and the Star Wars movies. In the current timeline there should be no teachers, no schols, no jedi. Force sensitvity should be very limited, not what we have now.

•Do you like the idea of adding a quest journal?

Yes. This should not be limited to fscs.
