"...Without revealing the exact path to Force sensitivity, let it be said that it is not hidden in the way that the Holocron/Professions system was hidden. The path to Force Sensitivity has underlying mechanics, but essentially it is to just play the game. It is definitely achievable, but mysterious and unknown..."
TH, you guys are doing better---MUCH better. Before I launch into my praise/review of your questions, I have a few of my own. I hope you'll take a moment to clarify the above statement, please?
1: Your recent poll revealed that a majority of voters wished for a system where we could choose to achieve force sensitivity or choose not to and that this option would be known. How do you reconcile this with your above statement?
2: Unless I am misunderstanding, once again your Team is insisting we continue to grind through tedious missions, hunt animals or endure mind-numbing faction missions or, worse yet, engage the awful craft system you have in this game---all with the vague hope we'll suddenly trigger a flag that will then send an NPC to activate our FS character slots. Is this right? If so, I'd appreciate a yes/no upfront because the answer will allow me to finally make up my mind on whether my subscription will continue for SWG, once and for all. Please do not attempt to deceive me like Koster did. Be upfront and honest about how this system works so I can, as a gamer, make an informed decision about your game.
3: 'Essentially to just play the game', is not good enough, sir. Why not? Because 'playing the game' isn't fun. It's boring, frankly. I'm sorry, but it is. Forcing me to do more of the same anti-thematic missions over and over again is NOT going to convince me to renew my subscription and certainly not purchase JTL. It's not YOUR fault or the fault of your Live Team. It's Koster's fault. He's the one who decided hunting animals over and over again was 'Star Wars'. I won't even delve into your crafting system which I've despised since day-one. I'm not a crafter and never will be regardless of the MOG I play.
Conclusion based on my current understanding of your statement above: Unless your game-play (read mission system) alters dramatically and unless your Live Team somehow revitalizes the faction mission system and the GCW so that 'just playing the game' becomes thematic and fun; and, you allow me a clear choice on this Force issue, then you've lost me as a subscriber. I'm not threatening you or your company. I'm informing you as an online game consumer what it will take for you to retain my patronage. Certainly, you and your company must act to maximize your profit in a manner that appeals to the largest category of players. I appreciate that and could never lapse into personal animosity because you do so. However, as a paying customer, I require an honest and concise policy statement from your company so I can make an informed decision about my subscription. Failure to provide one or issuing misleading statements in an attempt to 'fool' me into continuing a subscription would be most unwise.
With that out of the way:
Do I like the village: As a story, yes I do. I think, as I said above, your Team is putting out better material. They've taken the backdrop of Star Wars and expanded it in a logical, thematic and intriguing manner. I cannot comment on whether I *like* this idea for Force issues for the reasons I've stated above, as well. If you clarify your statement sufficiently, I'll revise and extend my remarks (heh).
Do I like the 'quest journal': Oh yes, indeed. Who wouldn't? Anything that adds story and history to a character (whether you RP or not) is a good thing. You can't go wrong with this even if you fail with the Force system.
Keep up the good work and please attempt to be more 'clear' in the future.

"Bounty Hunters tracking them for profits"
LOL the only reason a BH would hunt a jedi now is for the fun of it or just to be a jerk LOL. 15k is NO profit at all. LOL.

I really like the idea of the village and the quest journal. Way better than hologrinding... I'm interested to know how holocrons are going to fit in. Will this be set up similar to the theme parks?

Now this is more like it! This is something that we can do over a period of months and not grind and grind and grind. Make this a series of quests that fit the character's past experience (mastered professions).
Then as the quests continue, put in miniquests that relate to the main quest. if the player fails the miniquest, he/she/(it)? will be at where they started off before the miniquest. If they pass, then skip over any part of the main quest that would fit with the experience/xp gained from the miniquest.
Just an idea...
Great Idea! Devs!!!
I LOVE this game...

I may saythis again it is a great idea for both plans. The question I ask, will the quest be too hard that only groups( trying to stay away from group oriented quest systems) or really strong professions like commandos or CM, that go in guns blazing and flinging poisoneverywhere, would be able to makeit throughquests? And will it require that you have composite armor to make the trip? Things like these may ward players from becoming jedi, but it would also build up rage with the players because of the difficulty. It's alsohard to please everyone, as i've readhalf the replies on this post( and many still don't agree with it), but stick to the things you know the majority of the community wants. Big things come in small packages and the world turns on its own axis. Combatrebalance is a must, but not at this time. The time right now is to complete the plans and then move to JTL. After JTL leaves a completely wide opengap in the publish marker, because the smuggler revamp will take place along with the GCW, PVP,etc. Rebalance can be very demanding but if you stray too far from the current publish, what time will that leave you to finishtest it. You don't know if after you're done, if the fans a are gonna approve of it or whetherthey're gonna turn it down, so don't spend too much time busting your brains over trying to make itlook good.Looks aren't everything, it's theFun Faction that counts.New things things besides your everyday search and destroy is good, several of the people wanted, and being able to fail a mission someone also said. The quest doesn't have to be super long, but it can be made so that if you fail a mission you'll have to start all the way from the beginning. It'd be like playing games on your old nintendo, but during the time that nintendo was the only new system, who complained? With all said and done, i hope this makes programming and the art work easier on you. As i work towards be ing a graphic designer, i hope my problems can be solved by thoughts of others.

Sounds great TH, the idea of the village sounds very cool, and the quest journel could be fun too, espcially if others could maybe see wat quests u have done.
Keep up with the good work.

I, for one, love the idea of a quest journal. It's something I wish had been there since the very beginning.
The village. well, it sounds pretty good. The only thing that really worries me about it...is when it is implemented and everyone that hasn't unlocked already rushes to whichever planet it happens to be located on. The lag on that planet is gonna skyrocket. and OMG, if it is on Dantooine. I'm not sure about other servers, but on Valcyn the lag on Dantooine is only comparble to that in Coronet.
But, other than that worry, sounds good ... good luck, and keep up the good work TH.
