The defence caps should be character-specific, and they should depend on the character's attack speed and armor piercing capability: the higher the AP capability and the attack speed, the lower the defence caps.

Making all the Professions gain similar offensive and defensivemodifiers somewhat equally throughout their Profession Tree,rewarding those with higher skill point costs,while making the Professions' respective weapons more equally balanced (in regards to speed, damage, AP, and HAM costs) along witha large reduction in Doctor Buffs will enable all combat to not only equall-out between the different professions, but will also prevent the imbalance of some soloing things that the original development did not intend.

Make factional armor craftable and comparable to the current composite armor in statistics (i.e. 80% range) to improve the "Star Wars" feel of this game immediately.
Slight addendum: Make a stormtrooper helmet for all races that do not already have one, make scout trooper armor available for the imperials (perhaps with different resists than stormtrooper armor), and make the helmets/outfits from the Rebel troopers on the Corvette available and function as armor for the rebels.
