The Village idea is a cut above the lameness of holocrons, but not by much. On originality you guys get a F-, as for stalling the community yet again, you get a B+.


You don't have anything that could keep me interested in this game anymore, not even tie fighters and lightsabers.

Twiggy, you JUST said that the forum was hijacked by ppl who think SWG is about themselfs and then go on to tell us why it isn't holding your attention?? Sure sounds like you think it is all about yourself.


Instead of grading them and leaving it at that how about some suggestions?? Such as "in originality you get an F, what about trying something out of the box like this..." The forums,particularly this one, is for the players to give constructive criticism and offer intelligent ideas back to the devs.

It should be instanced, but instanced via group like the Corvette so it can be enjoyed with friends, but not overcamped like everything else in this game not instanced.

Well I hate the idea of not knowing the game mechanics. We get to run around doing nothing in particular until some fairy godmother or god father shows up one daytaps us on the shoulder and says "Poof" you'reforce sensitive. If this is what's going to happen leave the profession piece in. At least we know what we have to do. This just seems like another way to get people to play for a year or so with the faint hope that one day you to can play a jedi.


The villiage idea I like, The story line, hopefully it continues, I like. But the fact that I get to run around for another year trying to become force sensitive and never knowing if I'm getting closer is crazy.

Unless I missed something, there won't be a lotof people heading to the village. Well maybe there will but they won't have anything to do. From TH's post it sounds like you have to mysteriously be approached by some stranger. Those mechanics are unknown and will take quite awhile to figure out, Unless of course they change their mind.

the village sounds cool but he path should be less mysterious. We should get hints and guidance not just "wander around and play the game"

I like the idea of someone telling you that you can be a jedi. But think about how hard it would have been to become a jedi in star wars. you went to a jedi academy in the MIDDLE of the most populated city in the galaxy (courasant) and you could start your training. You shouldn't have to wander around forever before an NPC decides, Oh, this guy is good at what he does, he should be a jedi. YOu should be able to seek out your NPC and he can tell you some prequisites, missions, items, etc. We were left in the dark from beta till about october/november, we shouldn't be left in the dark again.

I have always thought that as soon as a player is given control of their path to jedi it ruins the game. I have lost alot of fun in the game because my friends go off to grind jedi. Holocrons will be gone which will help some, but instead of grinding professions they will spend all their time now trying to find out how to reach the "village". It still adds that grind factor to it.

My idea for giving the players a form of balance, but keeping the system a mystery:


FIRST, there must be a system of phases/steps that form a path to unlock so the phases/steps can be mixed and matched to form a unique path for everyone. They should all also start with the same step...


From that point, have the mysterious stranger send a comm message (e-mail) to every playeronce they'reon "the right track" and CONTINUE to e-mail them to give hints and reassure the player that they're still moving in the right direction or that they're straying from the path. This will keep everyone from being in the dark and will keep the path semi-mysterious.


New steps should also be added from time to time to keep the path from being totally uncovered.

I like the idea sounds great. Can't wait to get started. Also be cool to have different titles you can earn and wear around for the different quests.

i agree with me-so, majorslappy and ariesfusion.


the idea of the village and quest log are very nice. but if the village isnt large enough, it could be quite crowded.


again, the path to open the fs slot should NOT be a long drawn out mysterious path. save that for moving up in lvls to padawan and knight and finally master.

most are complaining that there will be to many jedi running around if it is not mysterious. TISK....TISK... if that is the case i say to those players, make the other professions a mystery as well because from my memory there where not many bounty hunters runnning around in the movie either.

some forget that this is a game that is based off the movie and not the movie itself so why shouldany players be punished or singled outfor what profession they wish to choose?

i will not go any further as this topic orignally asked what was the gamers opinion of the village and quest log.
