The hat Trick?

Assassination mission: Free the Prisoners, Kill the Inquisitor and almost blow up the Hyperdrive (only stopped by the timer).

You only get one Badge every time, though. Just the one for the Ticket you used.

Or did you want to know with what Group Setup?

Okay now that I am and others had looked carefully at the corvette. It is duable just gotta think of the balance of players and what workd and doesnt work. I think the devs did this quite well making the tanks melees useless and changing players into range cause range is the only profesiion that works well here. I did have a group that did well and we passed it and if felt worth it. Sure I lost 2 atsts in the process but what a thrill. So there devs you made us think bring it on!

Ok, im glad that you made it through the dungeon and found it a thrill with losing 2 at sts. However, think of it this way. Your at st's have 53k ham and light armor. This is a semi worthy pet that can stand up to a few things, which gives the imps a distinct advantage in combat on the corvette. Remember, rebels and neutral players do not have this added fire power and must rely on their own accords.

With that being said, yes, I did make it to within sight of the final room before I was flamed out by a Dark Storm Trooper. In one hallway, I counted 15 of these guys with over 100k ham and resists that I would give my eye teeth to have. I went in with armor that stats were all in the 80s. My Kin was 80, elec was 76, and the rest of the bases were 87%. I was one of the lucky with the group to get as far as I did, but guess what, I didnt fight, I ran my tail off to get where I was. It was the only way. We had 1 tk/doc, 1 doc/cm, 2 tk/commandos, 1 pistoleer/bh, 1 heavysword/doc, 1 fencer/tk, 1 doc/rifleman, 2 master brawlers/tksand we were owned. We have fought before together quite extensively and know how to handle the combat phases when we do fight. This battle is just too insane. I died 3 times, and finally I jumped out on the escape pod because I refused to let my armor get any worse than it already was.

This dungeon is a good idea, but went horribly wrong. Im not saying to make it a cakewalk, but when you have a group of 10 players getting owned, its a little sad. I hope the dev team will take this into consideration. Higher hams are ok, but the resists for these guys needs to be rethought out. Just my 2 cents worth, flame away....

So,we go up there, manage to kill 3 Uber-HAM NPCs and as loot I get a CDEF? A FREAKING CDEF!?! Is that what hit me for 4K damage through my composite? Really? If I had known CDEFs were that strong, I never would have switched off of my starting pistol.....

Did somebody forget to update the loot tables from the basic Meatlump ones, or do you guys pay bonuses to whoever pisses people off with the most ridiculous loot? Should I go back up and see if I can find a reinforced staff? Ooooh, maybe one of the Super Battle Droids will drop a stone knife for me. Hey, maybe all the Noobs should head on up to the Corvette to get outfitted.....

You know you made this hard. Fine. You know you released it to live with bugs, because all of them here were mentioned on TestCenter. Fine. You knew most people would die quickly and repeatedly. Fine. Did you really intend that there not be any possible reward for the attempt? Did you mean to make it so the only reason worth going is the schematic, which you might receive only to have to go again to get the component to make the new vehicle?

I mean, the genosian BE lab loot was not the greatest, or particularly thought out since there is supposedly a whole lab of BE stuff that doesn't have1 single BE loot drop, but at least someone tried to ad worthwhile prizes for fighting the high end beasties.

A CDEF! COME ON! ARGH! A CDEF!?!?!?!?! On a 150K NPC? I would rip his arm off to get the gun he was shooting me with, and you give me a CDEF. I don't know what else to say.I am beginning to believe that somewhere in your corporate culture the dislike and lack of consideration/respect towards your player (i.e. CLIENT) base is actually fostered and maybe even taught. It's too hard to believe that you guys put all the work and effort into something like this only to "accidently" keep doing things that piss people off this bad. /sigh

On a positive note, the eye candy is breath-taking. Your art department is really one of the few places where it seems you have your act together. The monsters are incredible and get my adrenalie running. The final prize is one that is desirable, and hopefully worthy of such an endeavor.

Long Post. My Apologies, but this development team could use a heavy dose of suggestions rather than simple criticism.

First I will say that it appears there are quite a few groups who have been able to beat the Corvette, and seemed to have fun in doing so. For that reason, my opinion would be to not nerf or "balance" this dungeon, but instead correct the obvious design flaws such as shooting through walls, clone camping NPCs, etc. It can be beaten, it is hard, and to some extent fun.

Having said that, I am still somewhat disappointed. I have been hoping for quests that would really require a mixed group of professions. Yes, this dungeon requires Docs, and combat types, but what about the others? Before the flames start flying, no I do not expect a Master Entertainer to break out in song and dance in the middle of a firefight and lull the enemy to peacefullness. I do however feel that there could be some more imaginative ways of including other professions. Perhaps not necessarily in this dungeon, but as you continue to refine and improve the game, I would hope you consider these thoughts.

I list some examples here and relate them to the Corvette, but they would not necessarily have to apply to this dungeon if the decision were made to not modify it significantly.

CRAFTERS

There could be something on board that needs to be found and crafted to gain access to a key area of the dungeon. The resources to craft it could be items that are not found anywhere but on that ship, and they disappear when you leave the ship, thus ensuring that people can't have them ahead of time. The item crafted could be a one-time use object that once created, gains you access to the key part of the ship, and then is used up. The item could be of a random difficulty so that players can't calculate exactly how good of a crafter they have to take up with them each time. The item could be of a varying type each time, so that maybe one time an Artisan with basic Engineering skills is required, but the next time a droid engineer is required, and a third time a weaponsmith may prove useful. I do however think that something like the randomness of that would mean that that area couldn't be such a key place as to prevent completion if it is not entered, but it could be that some very nice loot is unattainable on that trip if the group lacks the right skills.

SMUGGLERS

My thoughts on the smuggler profession is that they are a mixture of a fence and a hacker. I would envision them performing similar tasks to those of the Netrunners or Deckers from Cyberpunk 2020 or Shadowrun respectively. They should be able to (maybe with droid assistance) connect to the computers on the ship and perform certain tasks. They could unlock a door obviously, but have the potential to do significantly more than that.

What about accessing the programs that control the battle droids? I admit something like that could require a very high roll of the smuggler dice, but shouldn't the team be rewarded significantly for having the foresight to bring a very qualified smuggler? A failed roll could initiate an alarm which aggro's any enemy withina certainradius of the terminal. If the aggro units were tough enough, this could be a good decision point for the group. Do we risk aggroing the very tough MOBs caused by the alarm to avoid fighting the droids? Or do we simply hope to not aggro the nearby MOB with the knowledge that we will have to fight the tough droids later?

Everyone thinks about a smuggler for unlocking doors, but what about for locking them? Imagine the Storm Trooper who is unable to respond to an alarm because the blast doors won't budge on the latrine entrance. Granted again this could be a high roll of the dice with consequences for failure. Also, I am not suggesting the ability to lock the toughest MOBs away so we don't have to fight at all, but some method of making the smuggler more than simply a dope dealing, pistol jockey, who (IMO) suffersfrom being not the best fighter, but not the best chef either.

COMBAT

Why does the enemy never flee? If I am Joe Stormtrooper or Rebel Ensign or whatever, and I am surrounded by some guys in seriously nice armor, why do sit there and continue to fight on? Would it not make more sense to attempt to fight for a bit, then run away toward some of my comrades hanging out in the armory or whatever and try to regain some of my health? Granted, I know this is a game and I am not wishing for it to be realistic, but this would first make it a tad more believable, and second would make it more fun (again IMO).

Why can't I get a bonus-to-hit if am able to tactically position myself behind my foe? Me being the crafty, sneaky little Bothan, I would see my comrades engaged in a fierce hall battle with Super Troopers or a Rebel Command Group and begin looking for ways to turn the tides in our favor. I look at my map and realize that there is a way around that may allow me to position myself behind the enemy. Myself and the two other not-so-great combat types begin to work our way around, maybe we run across something tougher than we are and get smoked, or maybe we succeed in surrounding the enemy and, although we do not deal the most damage in our group, we are now able to add-value to a combat situation because we are able to hit far better than we would have on the front side of the enemy.

What happened to "There's one! Set your weapons to stun."? Stun rifles? Once again I,the little ole Bothan with not much brawn but plenty ofshadyness, could use my stun rifle to slow down the enemy. It could serve a few purposes. First I may be able to slow their attack speed significantly, thus allowing my comrades to drop that 55 gallon drum of whoop butt on em. Second, if the opponent has the ability to flee (see above), I could be critical in slowing them from their cowardness.

These are just a few thoughts on possible ways of (again IMO) improving the game.

Bottom line, don't nerf the dungeon because it can obviously be beaten. Just make it (and all future ones) more fun for everyone. Combat is great, but I don't like sitting out ALL the time just because I'm a little non-fighter Bothan.

Chiming in with the positive praise about the Corvette. I was thrilled with the geonosian labs, and the first few days of running through there frantically were some of my most memorable times in the game. The Corvette trumps that feeling.

We've completed it several times, and each time we go up is more fun than the last. It is challenging, it is fast-paced, and I love every second of it. This is a great experience just as it is. Two thumbs up and I hope to see more like this in the future.

Cheers from Chimaera

>> The MOB models look great and the Plot, Storyline as well as the whole quest structure are excellent.

GFX is okay as allways but ..... Is there a story? Kill the bad (reb) guy...... very creative as allways.

I like the new plane of hate, its hard... but a challange...

After becoming master in my elite prof. the game becamereally boring. The only thing i do now: harvesting some resources and making some money... andChat with the guild ppls.

I really begin to hate are the so called "Quests". They are allways the same: Travel there, kill, come back. Or travel there, talk, come back.

You can do that for a bussines men, or Jabba the Hutt. It makes no diffrence... okay, you have to do it a few more times for Jabba.

This is the same story for the corvette... Travel there, bring ticket, come back. Travel there, kill, come back. Yawn...

I personally think the game-, leveldesignersand the QA do a very bad job. Or dont know how to make it better...

- stop changing the professions (or change them when they are all finished, betatested and polished )

- stop adding content and beginto fixbugs (Shuttle repair, double exit vehicle, stop tolerating stuff!)

- think about a secure slice/pet training system

- do something for the longtime motivation for players that dont wanna become Jedis (there are many of them)

- play other games

and never touch the GUI, one if not the only thing that is great in swg.

I'm getting sick of things like Tusken Witch Docters, Super Battle Droids, ... these things are not fun to defeat. If I can wack a punk down to 50% in 10 minutes of boring bashing with all of 2 or 3 meaningfull special attacks (and no combos per documentations.) The guy should just surrender. It's down right mind numblying boring to kill stuff. All that's just about all that's left for a master...

If you ever fought a krayt - you should know this - the fight is a prolonged one. Poisons do not work on droids - so a super battle droid battle is going to last longer than a krayt battle (especially since super battle droids have better resistances than krayts.)

here is the point - those guys who lost 2 AT-STs - they didn't defeat the super battle droids or what ever - they sent the pet in and walked past. Personally I think a creative Master Creature Handler could find some pets with 100% heat resistance and use those vs the super battle droids. And no - you don't try to defeat them. Heavy armor with insane resistances? these guys are just there to sucker you into loosing your buffs.

I haven't completed the corvette. I died, lost insurance and thought to myself - can I afford to burn up my stun armor here? My character is neutral - our guild is going to the corvette this weekend. I'm going to get my 200 fp and declare and go overt with some 80% special resists on heat and energy.

Corvette - a killer dungeon which may keep some of the players who are bored to tears - but just an extention of the uber-mobs which bore some of us to tears already. Too Hard ? not sure - my character is a novice pistoleer, and the group I was with might have had 1 elite master.

Would you care to test out a 400 year old sword to see if it's decayed to condition 0? All the prior testers have no comment. Perhaps a gun which was used in WW I and still fires with high accuracy upto 1km?

If that doesn't get you, then start reading current military specifications for combat equipment.

lol.... alright .... dont listen to any of the complainers out there.... this has easily been the funnest place in swg.... though it is really really hard it is so much fun and chaotic it brings a tear to my eye..... dont add the abil to buff because it stresses team reliance.... if you let your teamate die and unbuff it prolly is your teams fault for not helping eachother.... these guys also hit like monsters but thats alot of fun too..... basically this stresses team work and uberness which is super cool.... some people might say that i can say this because i did not die on the vette but this is untrue.... my first visit was unsuccesul, after we aggroed 3 super battle droids and a battle droid... my only concern is the loot.... the speeder schem was certainly a disappointing prize..... i was really hoping for a carbine schem or some other type or maybe even a building schem or armour ..... thats about it... the final rewards should be a little more appetizing =) ...... besides that best dungeon by far

we had a great guide that showed us the ropes.

LF GUIDE !!! - my problem is that I don't know what to do... How about a mission brief? Does anyone know of anything that would help?

After trip #2 and only 1 clone this time, here are a few recommendations:

At the very beginning don't attack right away... you can get past several of the emeny w/o a problem

Super Battle Droids - aggro them on the Rebels (have a smuggler attack then feign death, with the rest of the group out of range)

Do not use area attacks as they pass through walls, and floors

Hats off to the developers on this one.

I had a group of three people.

a novise pistoller, a novice terask kasi, and a master entertainer/politician.

We crawled for an entire hour in there.

My armor was destroyed.

I was killed exactly 46 times.

BUT IT WAS THE BEST TIME I EVER HAD! It was so friggin funny, crawling around praying they wouldnt see me!

I am gonna go back up there ASAP!

THOSE ARE THE WORDS THAT EVER PLAYER NEEDS TO BE SAYING WHEN THEY GET WASTED BY A DUNGEON THAT IS HARDER THEN WHAT THEY EXPECTED. I MEAN SERIOUSLY THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HEARD PEOPLE WHINE ABOUT A MISSION BEING " TOO HARD" THATS "F"- ING SILLY..
GOOD WORK DEVS, I LIKE THE ADVENTURE AND I WANT TO SEE MORE CHALLENGING MISSIONS LIKE THIS IN THE FUTURE. WITH EVERYONE RUNNING AROUND AS MASTER THIS, AND MASTER THAT, WE NEED MORE ELDER GAME CONTENT LIKE THIS.
THE PLAYERS NEED TO LEARN TO STOP WHINING ABOUT EVERY LITTLE THING THAT GIVES THEM SOME SORT OF STRESS OR HARDSHIP IN THE GAME. THIS WAS ONE OF THE FIRST "REAL" ADVENTURES ME AND MY TEAM HAD TO PUT SOME THOUGHT INTO IN ORDER TO GET FAR.
NO, YOU CANT RUN INTO THIS ADVENTURE THINKING YOU CAN SOLO IT..
NO, YOU CANT GO IN SPAMMING YOUR BEST MOVE..
NO, YOU CANT GO IN EXPECTING TO WIN WITHOUT A GAME PLAN..
AND ANYONE THAT DOES WILL DIE..
THOSE ARE THE FACTS AND I HOPE MORE MISSIONS THAT REQUIRE A SOLID TEAM EFFORT COME DOWN THE PIPE. HELL, I EVEN HOPE TO SEE MISSIONS THAT ARE ONLY OPEN TO PEOPLE THAT HAVE "KEY" PROFESSIONS IN THEIR GROUP, SUCH AS A ADVENTURE NEEDING A MASTER SMUGGLER TO "SLICE" DOORS (SIMILAR TO GENO CAVE) OR A COMMANDO TO PLACE A EXPLOSIVE OR REMOVE ONE..
THE POINT IS THIS.. KEEP THE CHALLENGE COMING !! GREAT WORK DEVS !!
