Not much guts in dark jedi, it seems...

Dark Jedi being hunted by the Empire makes lots of sense. The Emperor want controll, not a bunch of fledglings running around waving their glowsticks.

The complaints on the system where the Empire will hunt dark jedi seem to asume that they'll be automatically flagged as enemies of the Empire. That is not the case. First you will have to be picked out for a scan. Then the scan must be successful for the imperial soldier. On top of this comes the mind trick that now is on it's way back into the system.

This system will make the life of a jedi tougher, but not in a boring grind kinda way. You actually have to play your jedi with caution - finding the right route into cities and to the starports. Keep to the shadows or maybe even hire a smuggler to get by. Great stuff in my oppinion!

LET TALUS PLAY THE GCWmy guild has been working for a long time preparing our city to serve as a stronghold for the empire on talus and now soe gives our allrdy crap planet the shaft? whats up with that... you guys put city caps on naboo, corrillia, and tat and make us go to these crap planets. now your saying we cant take a part in the gcw unless we want to place a base on a differant planet, without the support of our city, and our buffers?

GIVE A REASON FOR DARK JEDI TO BE DARK... the mass jedi on this game has almost killed pvp. myself, a rifle pikeman, is an ideal temp vs another reg player. i can kd dizzy, dot, and mind hit like theres no tomorrow. its total crap vs a jedi. now the only pvpers that play are jedi. to make matters worse, your going topenilizedark jedi for being dark. now we will have even more light jedi ganking us... wonderful...

OMG it just gets better and better.. now all they need to do is remove the grouping payout mess and we will be happy on that front.

The idea is great....the implementation continuitywise is a little off imo.

How can the developers can claim immersion on the Dark Jedi point and thencannot see whyRebels openly controlling citiesisn't an immersion breaking issue.

Please rethink this one a little.

I mean:

  • Whydid theRebel Alliance hide on Hoth and freeze thier collective butts off when they could have got sun tans & creature comforts in Coronet.

  • Why have a hidden base on Corellia when you got Rebels are freely wandering around cities dealing out justice.

It doesn't work from a continuity point ofview nor does it work from an in game content point of view.

Cities should be sympathetic to the Rebellion as a reward not turn into Rebel strongholds as a reward.

Simply let us have our scanning perks in these cities with the "local police". We don't need to have Rebel troops wandering around these cities to make it seem like were in control. If the Imperials get some perks out of this so be it. Really and truthfullythey should get perks for simply being imperials and in control of the galaxy.

If the PvE bases you've planned work as advertised there should be enough Rebel Troopers for any imperials desire and they can still get missions for them anyway.

Rebels do not have to be equal to imperialsin regard tofaction perks as long as in pvp the rebels still stand a chance.

First off, I love the idea of the occupation game, it's going to add to the GCW in a big way which is a very good thing.

From a purely RP point of view ...Some planets should be fixed as specific faction and all three of the chosen starting planets for the occupation game have reasons for why they are BAD choices.

Coriellia - Neutral terratory as a trade planet, even the empire respects that.

Naboo - This is the emperors home world isn't it? hes got his beg fancy mansion there, no way in hell he'd let that fall to rebels. The whole planet of naboo should befixedas an Imperial stronghold.

Tatooine - Jabba technically rules tatooine ... it's a frontier world of little to no consequence, of the three chosen planets, this is the least worst choice. But even then, the occupation game strips the planet of it's concept of being ruled by criminals like valarian and Jabba

the other non-selected bad planet choice would be Lok, it's under the rule of Nym, same reasons as jabba and tatooine.

-------

I'd suggest some special rules to take into light my earlier comments

Naboo is an imperial stronghold, Rebels cannot capture Naboo until they capture and control Rori, loose control of Rori and they loose the ability to push any further on Naboo. Imperial Bases on Naboo should be indestructable (or simply harder) until Rebels control Rori. This puts weight behind the naboobackground and that Rori is Naboo's moon

Coriellia is neutral terratory, The empire and the rebels should gain a foothold in the coriellia system by first capturing and controlling Talus, while they control Talus, they can push to control Coriellia, loose Talus and Coriellia reverts back to it's neutral state. This puts weight behind the background and that Talus is in the Coriellia system

Tatooine - Allow Neutral players to destroy bases to revert control of the planet back to Jabba/Valarian

Lok - Allow Neutral players to destroy bases to revert control of the planet back to Nym

Dantooine - Occupation game as highlighted by the original idea.

I have a question I dont think anyone has asked:

How long will these planetary dominance cycles last? In other words, how many hours, days or maybe weeks will pass before the system re-calculates who is winning?

Fewquestions;

the scans on controlled cityes like Coronet or Theed are rare? Common?

neutral police forces and faction soldiers spawn around (or inside)starports and cantinas?

imperial/rebel pc can walk freely on Coronet/Theed? Because now a rebel pc with buffs/composite can walk freely on Mos Espa or Kor Vella...

It would be cool when a planet is dominated by a faction, there will be either star destroyers above the sky or Rebel blokkade runners (just as in the imperial crackdown)

Two questions:

1. Will padawans (who are neither light nor dark side yet) be scanned tooand do they also have the risk of getting detected as Jedi?

2. Will imperial padawans, who have the rank of colonel be scanned as well, or will it be as in the imperial crackdown, so that they will be recognized as colonel and therefore not scanned at all?

/edit: I think I found the answer for question 2 in those 23 pages....

What is the reasoning for allowing high ranking faction members to avoid scans?
High ranking officers aren’t going to be scanned by their own army, but they will be scanned by the opposing army. This isn’t anything new. We haven’t touched the code or the percentages at all. The only difference is that now, Rebel officers are protected from Rebel scans.
