I've said this once and I'll say it again. Givingthe undedicated playerthe same amount of credit asthe dedicated player to the old system is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. It's like saying in the new system... If a player has done 4 quest they should be as advanced as someone who has done 20 or more. Another way of putting it is, if the old system stayed in place, the dedicated player would eventually get Jedi where as the undedicated player wouldn't. That is why I belive we (hologrinders) will get more credit then the lazy player that gave up when they hit silent. Also...

So your saying because myself and others who didn't hologrind b/c they liked their toons as they were and wanted something more creative than hologrinding to become a Jedi and simply played the game lazy? We aren't dedicated players? Your better than us because you grinded 20+ professions? Sorry I can't see that. I am not knocking your decision to log onto a game for the sole purpose of grinding to get to Jedi.Hours and hours of playing to do this, do that, jump, shoot, craft, heal, etc etc...all to get a lightsaber.Propsand kudos to all of you. Thats just not whatI chose to do.

To each their own. My point is this, why shouldn't other players who simply played the game for what it is an MMORPG not a MMOGUJ (Massive Multiplayer Online Grind Until Jedi) get recognition for having done what they wanted to in game and play the game, do quests, maybe even go through a couple of professions until they found something they liked.

Oh well, it'll all be a moot point by tomorrow morning...lets see what the devs got in store for us.

Well you shouldnt get credit because you "Just played the game". You didnt try to get jedi, therefore why should you deserve one? Yeah sure you're dedicated to SWG, but you werent dedicated to getting a jedi. Thats why you wont get any credit. I'm sure you'll be creative and find something more fun than jedi anyway. Nobody ever said we're better than you for grinding 20+ profs, we'll just get credit for jedi and you wont. There is no "Recognition for doing what you wanted in game". Your saying i "didnt want to holo grind to get jedi, but i wanted to play the game and have fun, so i should get credit towards jedi". That makes no sense, it should be "I want to get jedi, so i will hologrind to get it". You apparently didnt want jedi or else you would have "wanted" to holo grind. Sorry man but you prob. wont get much credit.

We will announce the proportional credit for those who have not unlocked soon. It will be fair as well.

Sorry, but no matter what way you do it, people will find it to be unfair.

If you give the holo-grinders what they want(credit for each and every profession they mastered), then the rest of us will find it unfair.
If you only give credit for the professions each character actually had to master to unlock, the holo-grinders will find it unfair.

It's a Catch-22 situation here. Either way, one side will be all pissy and unhappy about what happens.

My personal feeling is towards the second choice. If you go and give the holo-grinders credit for each profession mastered, then evereyone who has mastered a profession should get credit. Holocron or no.

ahh this is where your wrong...no matter what they do 90% of the population will **edit** and moan about unfairness, while the other9%just reads all the bitching and moaning in agreement.. then theres the other 1% who really doesnt care, as long as we have fun

prove it? ok lets go by a sequence of events:

holo 1 be: done

holo 2 rifle: done

holo 3 merchant: done

holo 4 Squad leader: didnt wanna do it, so i started working on what was gonna be a fun build swords/doc

i master medic and doc and decide what the hell ill just use another holo, i open holo and it goes silent, without me doing my 4tho holo(SL) which means medic or doc was the silent right/ well i master SL and no unlock, 10 or so proffessions later i unlock on 31, ID...inbetween starting-finishing merchnt i had done about 15 proffs. this happens to me and pretty much proves that there are more then 1 silent, which means those of us having to do 31 arent as unlucky as you'd think..

More than one silent: yes. Exactly 8 profession, 4 of them silent: unlikely, and certainly not proven.

This may have been posted before, if so consider this a second or a vote.

A simple way of rewarding players who have played diligently but not ground out multiple professions would be to

award badges for how long one has played the game. Say a badge for every 3 months or whatever. If there are

badges that are worth more than other badges, then give more weight to badges for more time played. Thus

veterans who have played instead of grinding get something for it. And grinders get an extra bonus for the time

spent grinding. This does presuppose that the number of badges earned is now going to be the key, which is how

I have interpreted what I have read in these posts.

By the way, having certain unknown badges be required just replicates the inherent unfairness of the silent holocron

system. Please don't repeat that mistake again, if indeed that is part of the new system.

Playing since 10/03 (not that I am biased or anything, lol)

Posting since Hayden publicly dissed posters.

I like the idea of what you are doing Devs, just wish something would come out officalliy for those peeps that haven't unlocked yet on thier silent holo prof. I can't ask for to much, so this is good. If a DEV can respond and let us know, that's be great.

Peace to the Rebellion and to the Empire...nay, kill the Empire

We will come out with more info, and it will be fair.

But why not stop the grind right now? Just play! You are going to make it soon enough anyway, and the village is very fun!

so when is the announcment?? less than aday left. i logged into bria and my holocrons went silent after doing 3 of them and i then did 20 more professions trying to get the magic number and i only get 3 unlocks?? so am i to be penalized because i guessed 1 correctly before holocrons came out??

to me the grind is not fun, being less than master is not fun. now im looking at another 60 million xp grind just to get my second character.

i stopped hologrinding at 20 way back before publish 9 because of the quest system being announced. it sounded fun. but i was horribly dismayed to find out that the hated grind wasnt going away but just transfering into a new grind.to me leveling is not playing. its a neccessary evil to learn a skill and get to the top so i can THEN start having fun with the profession.

this past saturday i ground out carbine in two days to have a small chance of avoiding 25millions of xp in grinding. maybe it will give me unlock #4. but i couldnt wait any longer for your announcment and i deemed it a good risk. now i guess ill go back to CH once again

I hope this info is posted to the forums soon as there is only a few hours maximum before publish 10 is live. (Or does this mean it will be delayed longer )
