Thread: Publish 10 ... holocredit for unlockers.

The real question of the hour is, is 32 professions considered 100%? And are they going to compensate you for obtaining 100%. I like many other today have finally finished the grind, all 32 professions done and out of the way. But no unlock message and no jedi. So what happens to us tomorrow when publish 10 rolls around? ...it better be good =(
Um... this is interesting. You mastered 32 professions and you didn't get the unlock message? You are by no means in common territory. Is there anyone else out there that this has happened to? If you want an opinion, you're going to be in the same situation as the Post9 unlockers. You'll need to do the Entry Quest, get your rewards (6 trees, and all the XP to fill them), do the Exit Quest, and then on to Padawan.
Check the Jedi forums, its a sad day

I've said this once and I'll say it again. Givingthe undedicated playerthe same amount of credit asthe dedicated player to the old system is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. It's like saying in the new system... If a player has done 4 quest they should be as advanced as someone who has done 20 or more. Another way of putting it is, if the old system stayed in place, the dedicated player would eventually get Jedi where as the undedicated player wouldn't. That is why I belive we (hologrinders) will get more credit then the lazy player that gave up when they hit silent. Also...
So your saying because myself and others who didn't hologrind b/c they liked their toons as they were and wanted something more creative than hologrinding to become a Jedi and simply played the game lazy? We aren't dedicated players? Your better than us because you grinded 20+ professions? Sorry I can't see that. I am not knocking your decision to log onto a game for the sole purpose of grinding to get to Jedi.Hours and hours of playing to do this, do that, jump, shoot, craft, heal, etc etc...all to get a lightsaber.Propsand kudos to all of you. Thats just not whatI chose to do.
To each their own. My point is this, why shouldn't other players who simply played the game for what it is an MMORPG not a MMOGUJ (Massive Multiplayer Online Grind Until Jedi) get recognition for having done what they wanted to in game and play the game, do quests, maybe even go through a couple of professions until they found something they liked.
Oh well, it'll all be a moot point by tomorrow morning...lets see what the devs got in store for us.

I'm not a holo grinder and have only been in the game since shortly before publish 9, but in my view the only basis for givingpartial credit for jediis the number of professions that you have mastered. The path to Jedi under the old system has been known for some time. Those who chose not to grind to Jedi made a choice to "play" rather than "grind". If you were playing you were not on the path to Jedi nor did you have an expectation of becoming Jedi, so why should you receive credit for "playing". Conversely those that chose to grind clearly had embarked on the path to Jedi and have expended a lot of time and effort in trying to achieve it. We may not have liked the old system, but those were the rules. The only question to be answered in my mind is should a holo profession count for more than a non-holo profession. I'd say yes, since someone who has one is further on the path than someone who doesn't. If someone got lucky under the old system they shouldn't have thatgood fortuneundone.
I've have every confidence that the holo credit will be fair, but I'm also equally confident that whatever solution SOE put in place, there will be a vocal minority who feelit is unfair.
