Also keep in mind force sensitivities need to be something you can Actively acquire, seeing to the bonus's they will add having it limited to certian players gives them an unfair advantage over players who have not been "Lucky" enough to have earned the ability to do them.
For Example to set this in.
A Force Sensitive crafter has an unfair advantage over a non force sensitive crafter, and the non force sensitive crafter has no way of competing with a force sensitive crafter.
And getting to that level of competion won't be a matter of time or skill but dumb luck.
Still the skills should get harder to aquire as you progress, and going from force sensitive to Jedi should be a much larger hassle and take much moreTime or Luck.
Also Don't forget to make sure all Players have an equal chance of unlocking based on their playstyle and their proffesion.
Having Bounty Hunter X force sensitivity requirement be Craft 200 Bone armor Segments,
And having Armorsmith Y requirement be Kill 5 player jedi, doesn't help
It still discourages them from playing the game, If you can't play how you want to play and unlock it will still be a type of holo grind.

I have to say that this sounds very interesting. Some things to keep in mind. If the village is not instanced (and I would be surprised if it were) combat should be frowned upon (otherwise people will simple camp it).
Things should be done to discourage people from simply staying in the village all the time, perhaps a timer so that you come in, find your mentor, get some instruction, and a quest and then are escorted from the village (or ejected if not timely enough). Perhaps a limited number of people in the village at any one time and a time limit before you can return.
But it does sound like something I will participate in. I have refused to let a little box tell me how I want to play a game and cannot believe that SOE thought that people would try every profession on their own (or even 5-6 whatever it takes to unlock).

I like both ideas, but you guys seem to keep adding content instead of fixing the content that is currently broken, this is not a good way to handle your games.
"Hmm, the game is broken to hell and back again...maybe we can fix that by adding Jedi!"
Couple months later
"Wow, the game is still broken, adding Jedi just created more problems...I know! Let's add a journal and a village!"
Wow, you're thinking process is amazing, Devs.....:-/

I like the idea of both but why are you still making the path "mysterious?" The majority of players have voted to making it a known path. My other questions is, how does this exactly work? Does a stranger come to you to begin this, or do you have to seek out the village? It seemed unclear to me.

This sounds like how I thought the process to unlock your force sensitive character was going to be originally. I was very dissapointed in the HoloGrind and this sounds like a step in the right direction.
Like many others, I would like to have the village instanced to give it more of a personal feel. The quest journal sounds interesting, but how will one obtain it?

This is a AWESOME idea, but there are some problems with it.
Spammers in the city, lack of role-playing feel because there is no doubt people will just run around there saying things to piss people off, ect. This needs to be a place like the Corellian Corvette, where each person has their own place, even though that will probably take HUGE server space for everyone, it's the only way to keep the "Force Sensivity" feel without all the retards ruining the experience for everyone.

Yes and Yes. Both sound exciting and fresh.
My Character likes to do a little of several different professions. Will he be able to become FS doing different things? Sometimes he does combat, other times he does some crafting. Will he be able to advance just as much asa combat only, or crafting only person ?
Thanks

"Many of them were hunted by viscous agents of the Empire and also had dealings with the Jedi council."
So does that mean that theEmpire has now changed to liquid based life forms and are really icky?

Interesting. I just hope that the system is difficult enough so every player does not end up FS. It should be as time consuming as say, mastering 25+ professions in the old system was.
not everyone was that unlucky. some unlocked after only 5 or 7 professions.

Sounds interesting! Definitely a huge improvement from grinding professions.
I am going to assume this village is not on an existing visitable location. Will it be on an "instanced" mini-planet like the Corvette, in which you need to complete certain goals before entering? Or will it be a "dungeon" type thing on an existing planet?

LMAO....funniest thing I've seen all day. Nice catch. Now the jedi will need to use Castrol motor oil to protect against viscosity and thermal breakdown.
