Wow -- awesome! I love both the idea of the village and the Quest Journal! If it's executed anywhere close to as well as you've described it, it sounds terrific!
Two comments though:
1) We should have a third option of opening a FS extra character slot. There's no mention of another character slot here. I'm not sure I want my main to be a Jedi and I'd like to have the same opportunity as everyone else who's gone before to create a separate Jedi character on the same server.
2) Something has to be done about Jedi visibility. The whole myth of this village is terrific, but it revolves around the fact that being a Jedi is dangerous and you need to stay hidden. It then makes no sense to allow Jedi to run around with titles on and lightsaber's drawn. If you want to say there's this hidden village of Jedi, that's great -- but don't tell me they have to be hidden if titled Jedi can just run around with no repercussions.

Well...I just hope this new method is not so easy that every single player becomes a Jedi.

Now - how isthe path to force sensitivityhidden and not hidden all at the same time? The old system drove me nuts. If it's a quest based system, just let us do the quests!
Otherwise, it looks very interesting as I'd like some force sensitivity (crafting mainly) but have no interest in becoming a Jedi.

Sounds like a decent idea. Making it quest-driven is definitely better than profession-grinding.
However, I still don't see why post-Publish 10 Jedi have to develop their main character as a Jedi. Most haveover a year invested in their characters. Give players who complete the quests a second FS slot (FS on creation), like previous Jedi.

Also keep in mind force sensitivities need to be something you can Actively acquire, seeing to the bonus's they will add having it limited to certian players gives them an unfair advantage over players who have not been "Lucky" enough to have earned the ability to do them.
For Example to set this in.
A Force Sensitive crafter has an unfair advantage over a non force sensitive crafter, and the non force sensitive crafter has no way of competing with a force sensitive crafter.
And getting to that level of competion won't be a matter of time or skill but dumb luck.
Still the skills should get harder to aquire as you progress, and going from force sensitive to Jedi should be a much larger hassle and take much moreTime or Luck.

I like, I like. I just don't like that there's something mysterious that needs to be done before I can go to the village

I like a quest journal, but if you make a village wouldn't it be extremely camped? I don't want an area that is camped like the Geo Cave to run my force missions in. I was hoping for random NPCs you are sent to. It would give a more realistic feel to helping people as you go and the fact if you help Jedi NPCs that they are actually hermits.

•Do you like the idea of the Village of Aurilia? Yes, as long as it is instanced, I don't want afk spammers advertising crystals there.
•Do you like the idea of adding a quest journal? Yes- but expand on it, let people make their own journal also. Make it so people can use it to roleplay with their toon. You should try to put more into the game to allow people to create stories and share them with others.

Some good ideas here....2 things to guard against in the implementation:
1. Static quests for everyone....meaning, there need to be literally hundreds of variations of quests for each person. This will assure that everyone's journey towards force sensitivity will be as unique as possible, and prevent camping of quest sites en masse.
2. The quests need to be a combination of combat and/or crafting. Sensitivity to the Force comes through knowledge, and that doesn't mean you just go around blasting kreetles.
The only other thing that worries me is the enormous amount of dynamic content that this revamp will require....and you're proposing to get all this done in 6 weeks for Publish 10. PLEASE spend however much time you need to get this right, and don't rush it out just to meet a late August deadline. You've got a greatideain Aurilia, just take the time to get it right. ALOT is riding on this Publish. ALOT.
Good luck.

It's good. Very good.
However, I still have to wonder, how will this system credit those players whom have ground proffesions for a long while but not unlocked?

I like the idea, I just feel it's poor timing coming on the heels of last night's post regarding pushing back yet again fixing the core systems of the game. If this were to be, say, pushed back until after JTL, combat balance and GCW, then I'm all for it. In fact, if you want to push back JTL and do this after combat/GCW, that's fine by me and a vast majority of active, passionate players (you need only read the 63 pages of responses to the "Great Expectation" thread to get the gist of the player community).

A quest journal is fine by me, too.
